Author's Note: Short Chapter, but I felt like I had to end it there. Hopefully I'll have another update soon. I also apologize I been depressed and just sometimes can't write for a week or more. Also been searching for a house, which even if you have help can be overwhelming. And I have to let you guys know I do have two other fandoms I'm working on, so I'm trying to balance all that. Believe me I have tried just focusing on one story, I can't do it for some reason. I also will note chapters will probably be short so I can catch more errors and hopefully update more frequently wish me luck.
I Want to thank all my reviewers for their time and patience's, and comments. I do appreciate them. So thank you to all of you!
The Dark Prince Chapter Four:
Nod crossed his arms, keeping his legs so tightly around his bird that it chirped in protest. He sighed, "Sorry," He quickly patted the bird before promptly returning to his brooding. It was unfair, that Ronin was his leader and there was a time he might have ignored him and gone his on way, but maturity. "Ha, being mature is not what is cracked up to be." He complained to himself.
"And what would you know about that?" Darvas asked flying by his side.
"More than you, you're supposed to be following me." Darvas rolled his eyes.
"Whatever," Then he fell behind to talk to Autumn, Nod looked back to see her laughing with the others. She looked really pretty with her hair in the wind and her smile complimenting the giggles escaping her mouth, but he once knew somebody that looked even better. He wondered if Ronin ever felt like this, alone in leadership. It was hard to have much of a comradeship when you were trying to be ahead of the team.
He pulled his reigns as the landed near the Queen's palace. Ronin was the first to arrive and he could already see him going in to get the young flower girl. She was escorted by two other guards, including, Alana, she helped the Queen on a beautiful bluejay, then promptly got on herself.
"Hey Ronin it's been years since when done this." She flipped her wild blond hair. Was she trying to flirt with Ronin? Nod hoped not, the idea of it made his stomach twist. It was so disgusting, his father's best friend with a girl that was not Tara, well thinking of him and Tara was weird enough. Seeing old people act like teens was just gross.
Speaking of the devil, his leader looked over at him, "Something wrong you look like you just ate some sour fruit,"
"No,"
"Look I know you don't want to see M.K. But this is important and I want your help on this."
Nod sighed, "Fine, let's just go."
"Such a rush," Alana teased, "I think you still want to see her."
"I don't," he crossed his arms and frowned, but then gave up. Who was he kidding? Of course he wanted to see her, even if it was going to hurt. He been fighting it all this time, denying the fact he still had feelings for her. "Whatever."
"Come on, is the Queen ready?" Ronin tightened the reigns on his bird.
"Yep," the flower girl replied. "I'm ready when you guys are. I'm so excited to get out." She clapped her hands, "Too bad it has to been at such circumstances." Nod couldn't have agreed with her more. "Oh before we leave, Lavender," She called, a beautiful long green girl with flowing purple petals came up with a small leather pouch, "Thank you, I got a feeling we are going to need this." Nod and his team looked curiously, but he noticed that Ronin and Alana didn't seem distracted by it all. They must have know exactly what it was.
"So what's that?" Autumn inquired.
"You'll see later." Ronin replied yanking the reigns on his bird, "Let's go." The young blond frowned in disappointment, Ronald patted her on the back.
'Let's go, it's okay I don't think it will be that long of await." He assured her.
"But one minute is too long." She complained
"It will be longer than that. If we don't go now." Darvas noted.
"Fine," She huffed.
Nod felt like the first day when he took M.K. On that dear. His heart passed as he leaned against the tree, waiting with the others. The Queen was taking in all the sights, jumping from branch to branch. She maybe their ruler, but she still was child, that probably was one of the reasons Tara chose her. The former queen has had a bit of child like spirit herself. He heard Autumn tapping her feet impatiently.
"How much longer?" She whined.
"Oh stop it, you are a solider, sometimes we have to wait," Alana stated. "Just consider this like a stake out."
"But M.K. Isn't our enemy," The flower Jinn leaped down.
Nod muttered, "maybe not, but she's not my friend either." She's the girl that broke my heart.
"Come on, I can't wait, M.K. M.K." Grub yelled as he slide his way to up the tree he and Mod slimmed the screen as usual.
"Oh were is my delicious honey!" Mod exclaimed and Nod rolled his eyes.
"Guys," The moment Nod heard her voice, it was...he was expecting to hold on to the angry he had, but instead another feeling had to it over. Not having had heard in such a long time, well it was overwhelming. He stood leaning against the tree as if he was not bothered but in reality he knew he just was not ready to see her. "Calm down you just saw me awhile ago."
She laughed at Mod swaying his body like he had swagger. She looked over at the small crowd, she noted the people she never seen before. The tall slender pale man, with the silver eyes, at least she thought they were, so hard to tell when they were so much smaller than her. Than there was awkward slender guy with shaggy dirty blond hair, a slightly rounded red head man who was poking a blond head girl. Who M.K. Couldn't deny was pretty, with her almond eyes, and her waves of gold. She also had an athletic body. Then of course was the other woman beside her, who reminded M.K. Of Amazon Warrior, and she could tell the woman was older, but had aged gracefully.
Then she took in the Queen, "You grown, your highness." The small on the once flower girl was bright, her petals had grown since M.K. Seen her. And she couldn't help wondered if the new Queen was trying to impress someone, she was wearing a long purple rose petal gown that contrasted her shade of green perfectly. She also seemed taller, "You look more like an awesome Queen each day."
"Thank you, I try my best." The queen smiled, but her face frowned a bit, "So, Ronin said something about dreams."
"Yeah," M.K. Was curious about the others, she supposed the Entourage was for the Queen's protection. She sighed as she noted that Nod was not among them. She didn't know why but she thought for sure Ronin would have brought him along. She shook her head there would be time to go over introductions later.
Autumn leaned closer to Darvas and glanced back at Nod. "Do you think she is pretty than me?" She whispered with concern. The tall pale man focused on M.K., her auburn hair, her freckles, the way she spoke. He was trying to understand exactly what Nod had liked about this girl. He was curious. Other than her being bigger than all them, there didn't seem to be much of a difference. She was pretty, but there were hundreds of beautiful women in the forest, all different varieties and colors, yet this was the woman that broke Nod's heart. It was not that he was interested in Nod's love life, he didn't care for the guy, but he had to admit he was curious why the idiot was so heartbroken over a stomper. It was not that he had a prejudice, but he didn't think they were that great either. So his thoughts over took him and he hadn't been paying attention to much else until he felt something slightly heavily on his shoulder.
"Ahh," He shouted.
The girl on the screen looked in their direction, "Darvas," Nod scolded, "Keep your mouth shut."
"Nod," M.K. Voice was laced with hope and disbelief as she waited to see if he was really there.
"Come out, kid," Ronin ordered, "There's no use hiding anymore."
Nod had not been running, but it sure felt like it. He felt sweaty all of the sudden, one might say he was nervous but he clenched his fist. He didn't get nervous, especially now that he was in charge of his own team. He gave Darvas a quick glare as he stepped out.
