Before we knew it the game was over and the Rangers had won 4-2. The Rangers crowd was happy, Damon was happy and surprisingly so was I. Damon linked his hand with mine which took me by surprise and guided me through the crowd. Damon could tell that I was tired but he still insisted on walking back to his apartment, "C'mon Elena, it's nice out and I'm not feeling like getting into a stuffy cab, its only a 15 minute walk, c'mon." He gripped my hand with both of his hands, "Ok fine, I guess we'll walk then." "Thanks you're the best."

"So what do you do when you're not at work? Like what does Damon Salvatore do when he is not in a coat and tie? Intrigue me."

"Right now I am spending my time with the most beautiful woman I know and I have never felt more lucky." He looked at me and smiled, I couldn't help but blushed. "Someone is a little red." "Stop Damon," I said teasingly elbowing him causing him to stubble a little. "What, that's the truth," "No, but in all honesty," "Well, if I'm not at work, I catch up with my buddies from college, I go for runs at Central Park, visit my grandma on Long Island, drive my little sister back home from boarding school, oh and on Sundays I coach little kids hockey at a place where my friend and I started, it's for kids who are less fortunate, it's my way of giving back to the community you know." "Wow Damon, you surprise me every second," "What can I say I'm full of surprises." "And I never knew you had a little sister, so there is you, Stefan and then," "India, she's sixteen now and goes to boarding school in Connecticut. She's everything to me, I basically was the one who brought her up, my parents divorced when she was only 1 year old and my parents were never really present at home so it was just my nanny and I who brought her up. You will love her, she is funny, pretty, nice and plays tennis too." "I can't wait to meet her then," "Damon, I thought you were," He cut me off before I cut finish my sentence, "you thought I was nothing but I rich playboy. I know, I was once a rich playboy, if you will, after my dad passed and left my his empire to run at the age of 25. I didn't know how to handle it properly so I decided to hide my vulnerability under the persona of someone who doesn't care. It didn't really work out at the end, they started to cut my budget because I was spending too much, I started to develop a drinking issue, and reality struck when my best friend since 5 died from a fatal car accident." He stopped there, "Hey it's fine, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," I gave him a reassuring hug, "from what I gathered tonight, you are a great person Damon, you really are and you don't give yourself enough credit for it." He hugged me tighter, "Thanks that means a lot."

We walked in silence for the last couple of minutes back to his apartment. I wanted to give me the space that he needed, just for a while. "Mr. Salvatore, I see you brought a lady with you." The guard at the front door said as he opened the door, "Yes indeed Spencer, Elena this is Spencer, Spencer, this is Elena my friend." "Hi, nice to meet you." Inside the elevator, I couldn't help but to ask Damon, "Why did your guard point out that I'm with you tonight." "You see Elena in my 10 years living in this building, you are the first girl I have ever brought back to my apartment. I think up until tonight he thought I was gay. Thanks for helping me prove him wrong."

"We're here, welcome to my apartment, and don't mind the mess, make yourself at home." I looked around me to see nothing but black and white, Damon owned nothing of color. Despite the fact that I don't agree with his color scheme, his apartment was absolutely breathe-taking. You could tell that he spend a lot of time and effort to make sure this house turn out the way it is. Not to mention the view of his apartment, overlooking Central Park is nothing but spectacular. "The glass window will break if you stare at it too hard." I turned around to see Damon in his pajamas, "I'm sorry I forgot to ask earlier but would you like something to drink?" "A glass of water would be nice, thanks." "A glass of water coming right up." I sat on his ivory leather coach waiting for him, he sat down next to me with two glasses at hand. He placed his glass and mine on the coffee table and wrapped his arms around me and held me close and we just sat there in silence for two minutes, covered in a fuzzy blanket in front of the fireplace. I decided to break the silence that was starting to lurk upon us, "Damon, why are so nice to me?" He turned his head to face me, "Because you are my friend and I actually like you as a person." "I know but Caroline says you don't treat her like human." "Caroline is a different story, the only reason I'm trying to even co-exist with her is because she is engaged to my brother. I'm sorry if I'm offending you of anything but that girl is annoying as hell. Ugh you have no idea how much she drives me insane, my biggest nightmare of all time is to be stuck in an enclosed area with her." "Damon, that's not nice, she is my best friend. You better treat her nice, or else I'm not going to talk to you." I crossed my arms and gave him a pouty face like a 5 year old child. "Okay fine Elena, for you, I will try to be decent to her." "Okay" I said during my mid- yawn, "I'm tired Damon and I don't think I have the energy to go back to my apartment, do you mind if I just crash at your place, I can sleep on the couch its fine." "No problem, I wasn't going to let you go out this late at night by yourself anyways. There is also no way you are sleeping on my couch. Come up with me, I'll take you to where you will be sleeping tonight." Before I could argue with him and tell him that sleeping on his couch is totally fine with me, he lifted me up bridal style and held onto me tightly so I couldn't budge. We walked into what was the master room I assumed, "Damon, isn't this your bed?"I asked as he placed me on the side of the king sized bed. "Yes this is my bed." "Then where are you going to sleep tonight?" "Right next to you."

The next morning I woke up to Damon's arms wrapped around me and I tried to quietly, without waking him up, get out of the bed so I could leave before he gets up. I couldn't believe I just slept next to Damon Salvatore in the same bed without actually sleeping with him. "Morning sunshine, trying to leave before I get up. Nice try. Here stay, and let me make you breakfast and we can go to work together." "Damon I can't, its 8 o'clock already and I have to go back home to change and get ready so I can be ready for work at 9 and there is no way in hell am I walking into office today with you." With that, I quickly put my sweater back on and grabbed my bag and left his apartment before he could convince me to stay.

I was fifteen minutes late to work because the New York City traffic chose not to cooperate with me on this particular day. I arrived at the office panting, "I'm so sorry I'm late," I told Lisa, "It's fine, you're lucky Damon is not here yet." "Okay good, then let's keep this between us." I hurried over to my desk and saw a huge stack of paper work I had to deal with today. On top of everything, of course Caroline decided to have lunch today with Bonnie and I to talk more about her bachelorette party and her wedding arrangements. This day could have not been any better. While I was engrossed in a conversation with the people at Trump Industries, negotiating about the logistics, Damon stepped into my cubicle. I hand-signaled him to be quiet because I really had to get through with this and I wasn't about to let him and his snarky comments interrupt the conversation. "So I'm assuming we are all set with Trump?" "Almost, they want you to go visit the sight at Miami first before they want to start anything with us." "When do they want me to do that?" "Within the next three months, they're pretty flexible." "I'll do it after the bachelor party in Vegas then so in a month." "Got it." "Elena, why did you leave so abruptly this morning, you didn't even get a chance to say a proper goodbye. It's rude to leave like that." "Damon, now is not the time to talk about this." "I'm sorry then when are you available to talk to me about it, because I really would like to know why." "Ugh just leave me alone Damon." With that, I stormed out of my cubicle and went straight to the ladies' room. I wasn't shocked at all to find Damon standing outside of the ladies' room waiting for me to come out. "Elena, please tell me why you left the way you did this morning. I really thought that after everything that happened last night you would at least stay until breakfast. I'm sorry am I missing something, are we not even friends anymore?" "No Damon, it's not that and we are still friends c'mon, it's just that I don't won't to give other people the wrong impression," "I'm sorry I still don't get it," "Damon, I really can't talk right now I'm already late to lunch with Caroline and Bonnie, I'll talk to you later bye."

"Elena, so how was the Rangers game last night? Didn't they win?" "They did 4-2, Care, Bon, I have something to tell you guys,"

"What?" "You guys know about the kiss cam right?" "Yea what about it?" "Well Damon and I were spotted on the kiss cam and we sort of kissed." "Elena, no you didn't." "I'm not done yet, after the game we went back to Damon's place and I lost track of time and I was so tired I crashed at his place, and I slept on his bed… with him next to me, but I promise you nothing happened between us. I swear I was sober I remember what happened." "Elena, I'm sorry, I have no words right now. You know he is not good for you, you really don't need this right now in your life, not after what happened between you and Mason." "But guys, I actually had a heart to heart with Damon last night and he really isn't the person who you think he is. Underneath that 'playboy' persona that he puts forth, he is a genuinely nice person who cares about people he loves. He's is probably one of the most compassionate person I have ever met in my life, did you guys know that he devotes every Sunday to teach kids who are less fortunate Hockey?" "You know what Elena, as long as you're happy, I'm happy." "Thanks Bon, I really appreciate it. Okay enough about Damon and I, Care, your party in Vegas is all set, all the reservations are booked and I just need a couple of your friends to rsvp then I can book the plane tickets." "Perf Elena, you are the best, I can't believe I'm getting married in 3 months. Promise me one thing, that we will still have monthly GNOs." "Deal." "As for the wedding I was thinking of doing it on a beach in the Hamptons, maybe around 200 people maximum, I want it to be more intimate just close family and friends." "Sure Caroline, it's your wedding, you can do whatever you want." "You guys have no idea how long I have been waiting for this moment to come." "Oh we knew."

Back in the office, I got a text message from my old friend from Columbia, Steve who said that one of our friends who now works in Boston is in town and would like for me to go out to get drinks with them. I replied sure as I had no plans for the night and it would be great to catch up with old friends. Before I knew it, it was 5:30 already and I was packing up to leave and it struck me that I hadn't seen Damon since I got back from lunch. I went by to see if he was there in his office on my way out, his briefcase was still on his desk, but he was nowhere to be found.

It was only 6 when I left the office building and I had 3 hours to get ready before I met with the boys for drinks at the Pegu bar in Soho which was 5 minutes walking distance from my apartment. I took my time to get ready, took a shower and still had plenty of time to straighten my hair and get ready. I opted for a red body con dress with a simple leather jacket and a pair a black stilettos, because one can never go wrong with black heels. Even with ample time to get ready, I was still 10 minutes late, and Steve and Josh were both there waiting for me. "Hey guys, I'm sorry I'm late again, it's so good to see you two." I gave both of them air- kisses and ordered myself a skinny girl margarita. "What have you been up to 'Lena?" "I'm working for Damon Salvatore as his personal assistant, and its been good so far. What have you guys been up to, Josh I heard you have yourself a girl, how is she like, she must be really lucky to have found such a nice gentleman." "It's more like the other way round, I mean she's great and she brings out the best in me. How about you Elena are you still single?" "Actually, I'm," Before I could finish my sentence, I spotted Damon sitting in the bar having a drink with his friend Will. He turned around and we made eye contact, he smirked at me and winked, took a sip of his bourbon and excused himself and walked over to our table. "Hello gentlemen, allow me to introduce myself, I'm Damon Salvatore, Elena's boyfriend."

Did Damon just introduce himself as Elena's boyfriend? *Insert all monkey emojis*. Hey guys, i've decided to make this story a long one and therefore bare with me because things will progress much slower at a steadier pace. As I said before and I will say it again I really hear your opinions on how the story should go, I sort of have the big picture all mapped out but suggestions won't hurt!

Thanks for all the reviews and fav/follows and please continue to do so, your support means a lot to me!

Now that I'm done with school, my updates will be more frequent.

See you soon,
