Chapter 4: A Necessary Introduction
It's 10 in the morning. I have a date with Yahiro today. I got excited over the fact we really are going out now as a couple. My heart began to race. I never expected to feel such elation in my heart.
I got up early specially for today. I even made sure that I preserved my voice for the past few days, refusing to talk to anyone and resorting with my sketchpad again. I wanted to use my voice for Yahiro so that he can hear me speak again. I remember him telling me that he regarded my voice like a precious song to his ears.
I quickly packed my things. I woke up extra early to prepare a bento meal for us. I remember pleading to Ryuu-nii to teach me how to cook properly. I even had Akira to teach me how to make desserts. True, it was disaster in the beginning, but not quite as disastrous as Hikaru's. I laughed at the thought.
Yahiro didn't mention where and what we are going to do for today. He just said to meet him to our usual place and nothing more. His voice, like usual, is always curt, but always with a hint of his playfulness.
I asked the driver to drop me off three blocks from our meeting place. I got out of the car and started to walk.
My mind was filled with so many thoughts of what happened during the week. The omiage and seeing Alexander watching me from afar in our house were what consumed most of my thoughts. I shudder at the thought. Guilt slowly crept to me. I haven't told Yahiro about this omiage and about Alexander, and in no way am I going to reveal him these. But still, I feel guilty not telling him these. Even if he doesn't say it, I know that he trusts me very much and I don't want to lose that trust.
I heaved a heavy sigh.
"That seemed to be a big problem you are holding," a deep voice suddenly cut me from my musings as I bumped into someone.
I scrunched my nose and place a hand on it. "Shouldn't you be looking where you are going?" he continued.
I looked up to the man I bumped into. My eyes grew wide when I realized who it is.
"K-kuniyoshi-san," I finally able to say.
"Please. Just call me Alex if you want," he replied, his eyes gleaming with laughter. "By the way, nice dress,"
I suddenly blushed, not expecting his comment. What is he doing here?
"Well, I came to get my soon-to-be wife,"
Oh. Did I say it out loud? I mentally kicked myself.
"What do you mean soon-to-be wife? I didn't agree to any omiage yet. And we haven't properly met yet," I retorted, not letting him this argument. And I must meet Yahiro too!
"But how come you know who I am? You won't unless you have seen the papers already. Oh, and my picture too,"
He is nothing like Yahiro. Albeit his physical looks, Yahiro isn't like him. Alexander can never be like Yahiro. This person has… Has a not-so-good personality.
But wasn't Yahiro the same? My mind is spinning. But Yahiro has his reasons before.. And it is to protect Akira-chan.
I don't want to think anymore.
He extended a hand. "Well, I guess we haven't properly met yet. I'm Alexander Kuniyoshi by the way,"
I only stared at his hand, not extending mine to greet his.
"I have some other things to do, so let's meet at a proper time and place. During the real omiage,"
Before I could even turn around, I felt his hands wrapped against my left arm, pulling me behind.
"Itai!" I screamed, trying to free my arm. "Let me go!"
"Not so fast, Megu-chan," he whispered to my ear. "And you're making such a scene, you know," His voice was sensuous, lulling my ears. I'm slowly drowning on it.
I stopped resisting him.
Suddenly, he grabbed my arms and held it tight. "Let's go."
"Wait! Where are you taking me?"
"To a date, of course. Where else?"
"You are not dragging me anywhere. Besides, I have an important meeting today," I huffed.
"So important than your family company?" He eyed me carefully. "Because you know, I could easily bring the downfall of your company,"
This stopped me on my tracks.
I stared at him incredulously. "You wouldn't dare,"
He gazed back at me. "Watch me."
Just when I was about to answer him, my phone rang. Hastily, I opened it and saw that Yahiro was already calling me.
Crap.
As I was about to answer him, my phone got snatched from me and Alexander pocketed it.
"Nope. No phone also. Come, we're going,"
I bit my tongue in protest.
What shall I tell Yahiro?
Things aren't going on according to plan.
And unknown to Megumi, there were two pairs of eyes who saw the whole thing.
A/N: Sorry for the very very very late update. Reality and fantasy doesn't do well in my world. Honestly, can't we just get paid to write? And being a teacher is really a 24/7 thing.
