We're running from fate.

Chapter 4: laughter.

Malik pov

I shook behind the armor in shock. My sister, my honest to Ra sister, was standing feet from me looking puzzled. "I-Isis!" called the voice of the vampire I was hiding from. I ducked back behind the armor to hide. I had to rely on my ears to catch what was up. "Have you seen, oh Ra, I forgot to tell you! I'm sorry, don't kill me, I swear I would have gotten to it!"

"Marik, what in the world are you going on about?" said Isis. I peeked around the armor carefully so stay out of sight. Marik had his back to me with my sister standing before him with her arms crossed looking annoyed with his antics. Marik tried to explain but got flustered again under the stern look Isis was giving him. ""You see, we um,…Well, we sort of found…" suddenly, Isis' eyes fell on where I was and her arms fell to her sides in shock. Marik was too busy fumbling with his words to notice.

I quickly raised a finger to my lips with a smirk. She smiled and nodded slowly. I crept out from behind the suit of armor and took off farther into the castle.

Isis interrupted me as I was finally about to tell her about Malik. "So, you forgot to tell me you found my little brother? How amusing, but I won't punish you." She grinned as I blinked at her. "Wait, how did you..? OH, the necklace, right?" She shook her head as her grin widened. She pointed down the hall "I know because he was standing right behind you the whole time you were fumbling around. He took off that way, by the way." It took me a moment to register this before growling "That little..!" and tearing off down the hall to the laughter of my mate's older sister.

Yami pov

I sighed as I had searched the castle and its grounds for my little mate and had no luck. 'Maybe his grandfather knows what he would do. I need to tell him Yugi is here anyway.' I thought walking toward the old man's rooms.

I opened the door to the sound of laughter and merriment. I blinked in surprise to find Yugi sitting on the couch with a cup of tea in his hands laughing with his grandfather about something. "I must have missed the joke." I said getting the attention of the two. Yugi looked up and me with a grin "About time, we were wondering if you would ever think to look here." He laughed. I sat next to my mate and he scooted over and leaned on me. Solomon smiled a bit before putting down his tea.

"The joke, my dear boy, was about the time Bakura and Marik put bleach in you shampoo and you didn't notice until that night after dinner." Yugi giggled at this and I felt a blush creep up my cheeks. "You had to tell him that one?" I groaned
