Chapter 4
Several hours passed since both Robin and Nami had decided to figure out their true feelings and what to make of their relationship. After their discussion, they returned to the kitchen and ate with their crewmates who decided it was best not to ask any questions about what happened. Nami and Robin had spent most of the day together in the aquarium bar, it was one of the best places for them to be alone together without being disturbed by anyone else. Robin sat on the long bench that stretched the length of the aquarium reading a book whilst Nami lay down next to her with her head resting on her lap. They sat together in silence but it was not an awkward silence, it was peaceful as they both just enjoyed the fact they were together.
Nami was going over the mornings events in her mind, she told Robin exactly what was on her mind but she just couldn't figure out what their relationship was and what her feelings where. She sighed in frustration as she looked up at Robin whose face was partially blocked off by the book, are we friends, or lovers? Robin was too indulged in her book to notice Nami's sigh or the fact that she was being watched. She too, had things on her mind but they were completely different to Nami since she wasn't much of a worrier. Robin was just happy to have Nami laying on her lap and being close to her. She blushed a little when Nami rolled over and snuggled into her stomach. Nami closed her eyes in an attempt to stop worrying and just enjoy the quiet time they were having.
It wasn't long before their peace was distracted by the sound of something very large entering the aquarium. Nami shot up when she heard the loud splash and looked around, "What on earth was that?!" She let out a loud gasp as she looked as the aquarium and Robin lowered her book as curiosity got the best of her, she turned to face the tank only to see a shark staring right back at her. She chuckled at the sight of the giant shark but Nami was furious, "Those idiots! Whose stupid idea was it to catch a shark and put it in the aquarium with all the other fish? Don't they realise it's going to eat them all!" Robin grabbed Nami, wrapped her arms around her waist and placed her head on her shoulder, "Now now, there's no need to be so mad. It's expected of them after all." Nami instantly calmed down as a blush spread across her face, she sighed as she leaned her head back and planted a kiss on Robin's cheek, "I guess you're right."
Robin smiled as she was kissed, her heart was beating so fast. She wrapped her arms tighter around Nami and pulled her closer as she whispered into her ear, "Shall we sleep together again tonight?" Nami's eyes widened as she let out a quiet gasp and the blush on her face deepened, she stammered a little as she thought of a response, "I-I-I..." She didn't want to act like she was in a relationship till she was completely sure of her feelings towards Robin but how on earth could she turn down such an offer, "Well... It's going to be cold again tonight so.. so I think that'd be a good idea." Robin gave Nami a quick squeeze out of sheer joy before she loosened her grip a little and leaned against the back of the bench, "I'm glad."
They sat together in quiet contemplation with Nami still wrapped up in Robin's arms, they could hear the laughter and shouts of other crewmates getting louder and louder as they neared the aquarium door. Nami stared at the door, awaiting their arrival and just moments before the door burst open she stood up, out of Robin's arms and walked over to the round table in the middle of the room. She sat herself down at the table and stared at the wall, Nami felt guilty for walking away without saying anything but she was still overly conscious about their situation. Robin let out a sigh and smiled as she sat back against the bench and indulged herself into her book again, she understood Nami's reasoning for separating at that moment.
As predicted, moments after Nami moved to the table in the middle of the room, the door burst open and Luffy, Usopp and Chopper charged into the room. Nami looked up, towards the tank and rolled her eyes as Luffy charged straight over to the aquarium and plastered his face up against the glass, "WOAHH, Nami, Robin, have you seen the size of this shark?! I'm getting so hungry just looking at it!" His mouth was wide open and he was basically licking the glass as he stared at the shark in the aquarium. Chopper and Usopp joined him by pressing their noses up against the glass and watching in awe as the giant shark swam angrily around the tank, "Wahhh, it's so huuuuuuuge!"Nami's face was red with rage as she watched them dance with excitement over the shark, why do I follow this idiot?! She pushed her stool away from the table by pushing with her feet from the wall and stormed across the room, eyes completely filled with rage, she grabbed Luffy by his collar to turn him round as she raised her fist and hit him in the head, "YOU IDIOT! Now we have no fish except for that stupid shark!" Luffy lay on the floor confused and rubbing the massive lump on his head, "Sorry, Nami!"
Usopp and Chopper looked at Nami in fear as she glared at each of them fiercely before walking back over to her seat by the bar. Robin chuckled as she watched the scene play out from over the top of her book, Nami was always easily angered by her fellow crewmates. Usopp and Chopper quickly grabbed the injured Luffy by his collar and dragged him out of the aquarium before they became Nami's next target as she sat cross-legged on the stool glaring at all three of them.
As the door shut behind them, Nami's face instantly regained its previous calm composure as she kept stealing glances at robin, she really wanted to return to sitting next to her but she couldn't help but worry that Robin may be mad at Nami for moving away just because others came in. Robin looked up from her book and out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that Nami kept shyly glancing at her. She let out a sigh as she closed her book and put it on the bench beside her, "Nami, is there something that you want?"
Nami blushed and suddenly felt really shy, she twisted her fingers together as she avoided eye contact with Robin, "Uh.. uhm.. I was wondering.. if.. if I could lay with you again." Robin chuckled and patted her lap, she could tell that Nami was worried about asking that question, "Of course you can." Nami's expression completely changed upon hearing Robin's response, a smile was planted on her face as she almost sprinted across the room towards Robin. She sighed happily as she lay down with her head on Robin's lap and closed her eyes, "I could do this all day."
Robin smiled as she looked down at Nami's face and once again admired the beauty of the girl beneath her, "Me too." She then picked up the book from beside her and returned to the page she was previously reading, returning to the comfortable silence the girls had before their earlier interruption.
