Late at night, Mike drives home along the farm road, a field of corn on either side. He looks over at his phone which dumped on the seat next to him, and sighs. He had been trying to call Dustin back for hours, but he wouldn't answer. He shakes his head and focuses his attention back on the road, deciding he'll try again tomorrow.

All of a sudden, Mike sees a figure run through his headlights, and disappear into the field on the left side of the road. He slams on the brakes, his phone flying off the seat and onto the floor of the car.

"What the hell?" he opens the glovebox and pulls out a flashlight, before exiting the car. After he has, he turns the light on, and approaches the field that the thing ran into.

"Hello?" he calls out, shining the light into the field, "Hello?" he calls again, but no reply. What was that? he thinks to himself, his brow furrows in confusion, it looked kinda grey… no stop! It was just some guy in a mask. He switches off the flashlight, gets back in car, and drives off.

After he's driven a fair distance away, the thing exits the corn field, and stands in the middle of the road for a few seconds, before scurrying off in the same direction as Mike.

Dustin lays asleep in his bed, out cold enough to not be able to hear his window sliding open by itself, as if by magic. After it is fully open, something slithers its way in, completely silent. It moves to stand next to bed, casting a shadow over the sleeping man. It then wraps its long grey fingers around his neck, and squeezes.

Dustin's eyes shoot wide open, and he sees a large grey hand choking him. He grabs hold of the long thin arm that the hand is attached to, and tries to force it off. He looks at the face of the assailant, and his eyes go wide in fear. The thing digs its fingers into his neck, a scream breaking out from his throat. The thing digs its fingers in further, and in one swift move of his arm, rips his throat from his neck.

He lays there for a few seconds gagging, blood pouring out from his neck, before his breathing stops, and lays still, dead.
