I chickened out.

'Hi.' That's it. That's all I could manage to expel. I'd left him in the dust and now he's here. And here's me, grinning like an idiot like nothing happened.

I could sense the guys converge behind me, curious about how I knew the new visitors. Jasper came up beside me, immediately on the defensive.

'How did you find this house?' The question came out as half growl but was discernible enough. Dean finally took his eyes off me to answer, somewhat more polite than usual.

'Calm down twinkle toes. We come in peace. We're here for her, not you.' That's definitely Dean. What he said piqued my interest though.

'Here for me? Why?' Please don't tell me someone died.

'I've.. uh.. I asked Bobby to keep an eye on the area. He called yesterday, told us all the demon signs popped up in Forks. And well here we are. Though I think we missed all the action.' He totally came for me. It was kind of adorable. Jasper tensed a little beside me at the mention of demons. It made me double back, How do I know they are who they say they are?

I flicked out my silver pocket knife and held out my empty hand. They knew the drill by now and started rolling up a sleeve each. I quickly spun around, this may be a bad idea.

'Will you guys be under control if someone starts bleeding right now?' I questioned Edward and Jasper, knowing Em and Carlisle had hunted recently. They nodded, but kept their eyes on Sam and Dean. Turning back around, I grabbed Dean's arm quickly and swiped the knife across his upper arm. He flinched a little, but no reaction otherwise. Then, Carlisle started questioning my sanity.

'Bella, what on Earth are you doing!?'

'Oh don't look at me like that. They could be ghouls, zombies, shifters, or about a dozen other things. It's a test we all do when we haven't seen another hunter in a while. Sometimes the monsters we hunt like to hunt us. Revenge killings and such.' He looked at me like I was mad, but relaxed as I moved to Sam.

'Your turn Sasquatch.' Dean chuckled, Sam was at least a foot and a half taller than me. He looked cheery to be here and kept looking at Dean as if having a silent conversation. I sliced his arm as well and he made a face as the blood started trickling down his arm.

I turned around and fished some holy water out of my pocket, quickly uncapping it.

'One more thing!' I spun quickly on my heel and splashed them both in the face.

'Gee… Thanks Bells.' He wasn't amused, but it still made me chuckle.

"Bella, who are these men?" Carlisle's soft voice brought me back startlingly to the reality I didn't really want to face.

"Well, Carlisle, Dean kind of helped me through the past 3 months, you know when you left…" I trailed off, not really wanting to do this, but I knew if I'd kept this façade up any longer, they'd become a different kind of upset; I'd rather face the Cullens as sad, than angry.

"You may have noticed Edward and I haven't exactly been close since you all returned from… Wherever you were." I finally looked to Edward, and it didn't seem to hurt as much as I'd thought. "There is a reason for that. Edward, you told me something, before you left. You told me that I'd move on, that I'd get over you and at the time, I didn't believe you, or I guess, I didn't want to believe you. But, I think I did, without knowing it."

"It's okay Bella, I understand, really."He was being surprisingly calm about this. Maybe he's grown as much as I have.

"I'm not going to stop you if you want to leave, nor will anyone else I hope." He smiled sorrowfully. He's telling the truth, he walked back slowly into the house.

SPOV

Dean looked as if he'd melt into a puddle of goo when he saw her, as we drove up to the mansion of a house. I knew I had a goofy smile on my face, but I couldn't help it. Seeing my brother happy, it's the best thing that's happened in a while. And even though, in the back of my mind I was a little jealous, my mind still reeled over Jessica's death, I really was happy for him. Maybe he can get the happy ending.

My senses went on edge as we met the family she was staying with, sulphur tinged the air, and I could feel something bad had happened. I kept an eye on everyone while taking in the scene. All the while trying to figure out if this family were really vampires; if I didn't know better I'd say they were just human.

"So what happened here? Looks like something put up a fight." He gestured towards the broken front window and the tattered door.

"Couple of demons came. Apparently, I'm on Lilith's to-kill list? Heard anything about that?" And just like that Dean's very being shifted, it was time to work.

"Lilith?! What?" Dean looked ready to punch something.

"Yeah, I really don't know. There were only a couple, and I set this place up ages ago for any kind of demon attack." Carlisle gave me a questionable look and went to speak though I beat him to it.

"It was just before you came back. I wasn't sure if you were coming back, so I kinda turned your basement into a panic room."

I turned to Sam and Dean grinning and added

"I blame Bobby."

I'm a terrible person to wait this long...

I never thought this was long enough and everytime I came back to it, I didnt like it. But you know what? You've waited long enough...
