Sonic was on his way to the castle of Hyrule. He was so excited to meet the Princess of Destiny! Suddenly, there was a big flood and water started pouring in! Sonic couldn't swim and he was too heavy (even for a child hedgehog) for Tinker Bell, so he ended up being swept away by the current with Tinker Bell clinging to his head. Suddenly, he heard a voice shouted "Fly, Tink, fly!"

"Oh, no!" shouted Tinker Bell, thinking something embarrassing was about to happen to her, but she didn't want to abondon Sonic, for she was his fairy partner and she had promised the Great Deku Tree that she would help carry out his will. So, she lifted one of Sonic's arms, and another fairy in a little blue dress lifted Sonic's other arm and together, they carried Sonic all the way to the Water Fairy's Fountain. There, they dropped Sonic on the ground. Sonic groaned. "Where am I? This isn't the castle," he said. "No, you're in the Water Fairy's Fountain," said the blue fairy. "I am Silvermist, the water fairy. I will grant you with a magic bracelet." And with that, Silvermist placed a bracelet decorated with blue glow-in-the-dark bracelet around Sonic's wrist. "Wha... what is this?" asked Sonic in astonishment. "It's a bracelet," replied Silvermist. "It'll protect you in the water."

"Wow. Way cool!" exclaimed Sonic. "Oh, but what about you, Tink? You can't swim either."

"That's right," sighed Tinker Bell. "Only water fairies can swim."

"I'll tell you what," said Silvermist. "Why don't you build something that can drain the water out?"

"Oh, yes, I can do that," said Tinker Bell. "But, what can I use?"

"You could use some loose rocks from under the water," said Silvermist, diving into the water. Sonic was sulking nearby. Now I'll never get to see the princess, he thought sadly. Even though Sonic had a magic water bracelet now, he did not want to abandon Tinker Bell. After all, she had promised to guide him. And Sonic wanted them to stick together too. "Hey, Sil!" he shouted into the water. "Think you've got another one of those water bracelets?"

"What was that?" asked Silvermist, emerging from the water. "Like this." Sonic pointed to the bracelet he was wearing. "Do you have another one of these. "I think so," said Silvermist. "But wait! I have something better." Quickly, she dove back underwater and emerged with a blue dress. "Here, Tink, take this." She presented Tinker Bell with a pretty little blue dress that was just her size. "This is a water fairy dress. With this, you'll be able to swim, Tinker Bell."

"Oh. Wow," said Tinker Bell. Sonic covered his eyes as Tinker Bell got changed from her green tinker dress to her blue water dress. "Okay, Sonic, you can look now!" she said. When Sonic opened his eyes, he was amazed. "Wow!" he said. "You've got water fairy power now."

"Do you know what this means?" asked Tinker Bell. "You can swim now," said Sonic. "Now, we can see the princess," said Tinker Bell. "Thanks, Silvermist."

"Good luck," called Silvermist as Sonic and Tinker Bell jumped into the water and swam off to the castle.

Things were looking pretty slim in the Hyrule castle marketplace. Everyone was trying to stay afloat by standing or sitting on water barrels. "Gee whiz," said Sonic. "This must've been caused by the desert man the Great Deku Tree told us about. "Well, maybe we should investigate?" asked Tinker Bell. "Oh... but what about the princess?"

"Hmm." Sonic thought about this. Somehow, they had to help this people get to dry ground. So, they decided to stay and help. All day long, they helped the people of the marketplace get to the second floor which was the dryest place. "Don't worry," Tinker Bell said. "We'll figure out where this flood came from and stop it somehow."

"Just hang tight," said Sonic. "You'll be safe up here for now."

"Oh, thank you, little hedgehog," said a ranch woman and Sonic and Tinker Bell swam off. They still wanted to see the princess, but they had to find out what caused the flood. So, they made a plan. First, they would talk to the princess, and then, Tinker Bell would start building the water draining in Silvermist's fountain out of rocks while Sonic looked for the spiritual stone of fire. Then, they would find the cause of the water curse and stop it. First though, they had to sneak past the guards which was not a problem because they were floating around and trying to bail the water off the pathway for the sake of their princess. Plus, they could hide underwater because the items Silvermist gave them also allowed them to breathe underwater. So, Sonic and Tink swam quietly and swiftly past the guards. It wasn't too hard because the guards were hardly paying attention to the two trespassers so they were able to slip past the guards and get to the courtyard where the princess was.
