Katherine's POV
I had only been here a week in Beacon Hills, and already, there was chaos ensuing. Perhaps it was because of me? That wolf clearly had never met a vampire before. Then again Scott was a toddler compared to some of the older werewolves I've met. He may have been a true alpha, but Scott had much to learn. I thought I find Derek to be the one helping this little wolf, but then again Derek has always been one to flee if his siblings pestered him. He was like Elijah in that aspect. Family above all. It was always annoying.
I drove to Derek's place yet again, hoping that maybe one day he would show up. Our relationship may have only lasted a month or so, but he was one I always found handsome. He was sweet and gentle, but rough when he needed to be. I liked it. I guess I had nothing else besides that in my life to hold on to.
I walked into the apartment and looked around. I found pictures here and there, and journals he had written years ago. I was bored, so I looked through them. It's nothing new in my nature. I did it to Stefan all the time. while I was reading, I heard foot steps and the door creaking open. My eyes widened, wondering if Derek had really returned. I stood up and saw Peter yet again. I rolled my eyes, My hope gone. "Ah it's you again." I glared.
"I could say the exact same thing. I live here you know." He smirked at me with his pearly whites. "I didn't realize my home was infested with pests."
"The only pest I see in this room is you Peter." I grinned.
"Bite me." He rolled his eyes and sat down on the couch.
"Don't tempt me." I replied. "I'm surprised Derek isn't here to teach baby alpha. He still has a lot to learn."
"Cora almost kicked the bucket and ever since then Derek hasn't left her side. It's some kind of puppy loyalty thing. I don't know. I doubt he'll come back, so you're wasting your time Kitty Kat." He paused for a minute and looked at me. "I believe that's your cue to leave." He smirked.
"Alright, lets get one thing straight here. I am not leaving until I see Derek. So whether you have to physically search for him, call him or communicate to him with your wolfy howl thing. I don't care. Believe me, I've got all the time in the world. I'm a very patient girl." I smirked right back. I know I sounded desperate, but I didn't care. He said something to me a long time ago, that I always held on to. If he still feels that way now, I have a chance.
Even though I did a lot of cruel things… I still wanted a happy ending. Honestly I thought that was going to be with Elijah, but of course Klaus once again beats true love. So I was forced to move on. Derek was my only hope.
Isaac's POV
The school bell rang, it was loud, but not as loud as my thoughts had been. They had been going non stop, yelling at me to run, but I couldn't. I was in love with Allison and to be honest running was the last thing I could ever force myself to do. I couldn't even imagine what she must've been thinking.
I looked out for her by the lockers. I wanted to know how she was holding up or if she told her dad. To a degree I really felt out of the loop and it was killing me. When I got ahold of her scent I nearly did a 360 turn around, she seemed happy. Happier than I had ever seen her. Why? Why was she not in panic mode still? She approached me rather quickly. "Hey, what's going on?" I asked.
She breathed out and smiled gently at me. "I got my period today… So the pregnancy test must've been a false positive and I guess I just had the flu or something. Or it could've been side effects from the ritual" This was the relief I needed. I wasn't ready to be a dad and this restored my sanity. "I'm sorry to have scared you like that. I really wanted to wait in case something else happened, but you know Lydia… She kinda pressured me into it." She shook her head. "God I hope she didn't tell anyone else." She looked a little worried.
"You should probably go find her… Tell her before Scott finds out." I grinned a little and kissed her head. "Go. I'll see you at lunch alright?"
"Alright, I love you, Isaac." She kissed my lips softly.
"I love you too." I breathed out in relief and leaned back against my locker. My attention was drawn to an annoying "Pssssst." Sound. I knew it had to be Stiles, but what did he need me for? I wasn't Stiles biggest fan. He would make fun of me and the scarves I occasionally wore. I followed his scent and found him and Scott in the locker room, like usual.
"What's all this?" I asked, looking at Scott confused.
"Look, Stiles and I have done as much research as we can and we're both still freaking out. Miss. Pierce is a vampire." Scott said worry filling his voice.
"Wait, the english teacher? How do you know?" I wondered. I guess it made sense though. I could smell her from a mile away and she didn't smell like most humans did. It was almost a bad scent. Like a scent you held your nose for.
"She pulled me aside and told me. She knew I was an alpha" Scott admitted, trying to calm down a bit.
"I knew there was something off about her. She was too hot, not to be evil." Stiles shook his head in disbelief. "She was incredibly hot though guys. Like for a probably 1000 year old chick she doesn't look a day over 20."
"You said you did research what did you find?" I asked, ignoring Stiles comment.
"Vervain to them is like wolvesbain to us. It can't kill her, but it will weaken her. They have to be invited in. Vamps usually can't walk around in the sun,and that's what throws me off because she can. They can die by stake or, and this ones interesting… a lycanthrope bite…"
"So we could potentially kill her." Well that at least made me feel better. We had the advantage.
"Yeah, if she's a threat." Scott looked at both of us.
"Have you tried calling Derek?" I raised my brow.
"A few times… It just goes straight to voice mail." He sighed.
"If I know Derek, he'll come back. He still has friends and family here." I reassured him.
"Did Derek ever talk to you about any of this? I mean you were apart of his pack. Does he know about vampires?" Stiles looked over at me.
"I mean… kinda. He said a girlfriend of his in the past was one, but she got driven out by the Argents years ago." I shrugged.
"Maybe she came back for him." Scott said.
"Or she's here to terrorize the town. In our past experience with the shady supernatural, that's normally the case." Stiles chimed in.
"Look, Stiles. She had the chance to attack me and she didn't. Maybe she's here to help." Scott seemed to be defending Miss. Pierce. Maybe he saw something in her we didn't. Something good.
"Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it." Stiles rolled his eyes.
"Well, there's only one way to find out…" I admitted "Let's capture us a vampire." I smirked.
Derek's POV
I was sitting at the bar. I had downed my 4th drink. My problems were becoming less of an issue and more of a blur. I glanced around the room, wondering if anyone had been watching me. Maybe somebody felt sorry. When I looked over to the other side of the bar, I saw a beautiful girl staring at me. Her dark brown eyes piercing me. She shot a smile at me and her cheeks grew red. "Did you come here by yourself?" She asked. She moved herself a few seats over.
"Yeah." I nodded my head a little drunk. "How'd you know?" I must've sounded like an idiot.
"I don't know you just seem incredibly lonely." She grew quiet as I lowered my head. "Do you mind if I have a few drinks with you?" She asked, her smile returning.
"No, I don't mind. What are you drinking?" I asked.
"Scotch." She said as she downed what was left of her drink.
Before I could get anything out to the bar tender she laid her hand gently on my arm. "You didn't tell me your name." She giggled.
"Oh… uh it's Derek." I smiled a little. "Derek Hale. What about you. What's your name?" I looked over at her.
"My name's Katherine." She gently rubbed her finger against my arm. "Why don't we get out of here, Derek? Go somewhere fun." She grinned, and grabbed me pulling me toward the door.
"Okay." I said, not even thinking.
We went back to my place. I kissed her passionately as we stumbled into my apartment. I pushed her against the wall kissing her neck. I could hear her sweet laugh and smiled as I kissed over the parts of her that were ticklish. She pulled me over to the bed and quickly took off my shirt as I did the same.I closed my eyes as her lips wandered. I was more relaxed than I had even been before. When the kissing stopped, my eyes quickly flew open wondering why it stopped. Maybe she had second thoughts. I looked up at her and saw her mouth drop open. She gasped in pain. Blood dripping over her stomach, while a stake pierced her through back, right in her heart. I backed away terrified as I saw Kate Argent rip out the stake.
"This is what happens when you let your guard down, Derek. People get stabbed in the back." She smirked.
I woke up in an instant, breathing heavily. I could feel sweat rolling down the side of my face. I buried my face in my hands and groaned quietly.
"Another nightmare?" Cora asked, looking a little worried.
"Yeah… I'm fine. Go back to bed okay?" I rubbed my face and looked over at my phone. Scott had left me seven messages. Stiles left me five and Isaac as well as Peter left me two. I figured it was time to check my messages. My inbox was getting full.
"Hey Derek, it's Scott. Look, I think we've got a problem. We have a new teacher at Beacon Hills and well… she's a vampire. You've gotta help us. Call me when you get this ASAP." The message ended.
Next message. "Derek, It's Peter. You know the Uncle you left behind. Wanted to give you heads up that your blast from the past, Katherine is back and she's not leaving until she gets you. Get your ass to Beacon Hills now." He growled and hung up.
My eyes went wide with shock. I thought Katherine was dead. I thought the Argents got to her. Kate said that she put an end to her once and for all.
"Is something wrong?" Cora looked at me confused.
"I think I need to go back home, Cora. Something came up." I sighed and frowned a little, knowing I would have to leave my little sister.
"I know you need to go back… They need you. Scott and them. They're always going to need you." She smiled a little and hugged me. "Go do what you gotta do." She nudged me to get up, so I could go pack my things.
