Future meets Past: Training with "The Enemy"
After weeks of hard labor( and embarrassment), Fairy Tail was finally able to do actual jobs, although some kept their current jobs in case they couldn't find any jobs.
" Hey Eric" Natalie told to her childhood friend
" yeah Natalie" he responded ever so coolly
" Where have you been going these few weeks" she asked growing suspicious of his sudden disappearances. As she asked her other friends got interested in their conversation
" N-nowhere particularly" he said starting to get nervous. His mother did say he was as good at lying as his father.
" Really? Is that really true" Gale and Liv said in sync which creeped Eric up
" Yes its true" he said before looking away. It was partially true since Jellal would meet him up at different locations.
" I don't fully believe you" Yuki said growing suspicious
" Me neither" Ame said getting closer to Eric
" I'll give you the benefit of the doubt" they said
" but..."
" One of us will have to follow you around for a week" Yuki said
" But who?..." they said as Eric took out sticks
" The one with the shortest will follow me" eric said
" Fine by us" they aid and randomly chose a stick
" I got it!" Natalie said
" Lucky you" Eric said with sarcasm
" Dont worry me and Hana will be like ninjas. Right?" she asked
"Aye sir!" Hana exclaimed
" Whatever" Eric said
WITH NATSU
" Hey Natsu" Lisanna said
" hey Lisanna, whats up?" Natsu said with his usual grin
"um...I have a question" Lisanna said as she looked at her sister who gave her the thumbs up
" W-Wold you l-l-like to go on a date...with me?" she said as she looked away from his gaze
" Sure why not" Natsu said while drinking his beer
" O-ok. Meet me in front of the guild at 5" Lisanna said as she walked away
" Hey firebrain, what Lisanna ask you?" Gray asked
" she wants me to go on a date with her" Natsu said blandly
" And you said..." Gray asked
" Sure why not. I mean were going as friends" Natsu said and grinned
" You truly are an idiot" Gray said as they got ready to leave for their job
" Why?" Natsu said
" Because you are" Gray said
WITH ERIC
Eric POV
I was walking towards the forest hoping to lose Natalie but she has a great sense of smell. She suddenly clutched her head and moved to the side
" You OK?" I asked her
" Yeah just a stupid headache" Natalie said but she got paler
" Come on lets rest" I told her
" No Im OK, seriously.." she said as she walked ahead of me
" Whatever you say Nat" I said
WITH NATSU
Natsu POV
" Hey Lisanna" I said as I met up with her
" Hi Natsu" she said and hugged me. I noticed she dressed up fancier today
" Ready to go?" she asked me
" Sure. Where to?" I asked
" Its a surprise" she said and kissed my cheek, which unfazed me since she did this often when we were younger
BACK TO ERIC
Eric POV
Me and Natalie decided to have a race to the pond which wasn't that far. We were neck to neck. Then she suddenly gained speed and passed me by a few yards.
" Catch me if you ca-" Natalie said before collapsing and I tripped on her
" Natalie! Nat! Wake up!" I said and realized there was only one person who could help me
Jellal
I picked Nat up and carried her piggy back and took her to the little house Jellal said he lived in
After minutes of walking I finally reached the little house. I knocked.
" Hello? Jellal? Are you there? I need help" I said as the door opened
" Hey Er-What happened?" he said as a woman with blackish blue hair carried Natalie with a pink haired woman behind
" She was ordered to follow me and I was gonna lose her but she got a headache, but then shook it off. After a while we decide to race for the pond when she suddenly collapsed" I said in a rush
" hmm..." he said while processing this
" Is she like you?" the pink haired girl said
" What do you mean?" I asked her
" I sense that you two have a strong link and that you've been on a life changing journey" she said
" Oh Im Meldy" she said and smiled
" Im Eric Sapphire" I said in courtesy
" You're not from this time are you?" the black haired lady said
" How did you-?" I said finally admitting the truth
" Im Ultear. I posses Time magic. And I sense a different time flow for you two" she said while checking on Natalie
" It seems her time line is changing" Ultear said
" What does that mean Ul?" Jellal asked
" She's from the future so that means that her parents are going out with other people, which means there is a possibility her parents wont get together" Ultear explained
" Which means she'll never be born" Meldy finished
" I-Is...Does that risk exist for everyone?" I said while gulping
" Yes" she said
" Do you know who your parents are?" Maldy asked me
" No. No one does" I said clenching my fists
" Alright. Bring your friends tomorrow" Jellal told me
" Why?" I asked
" So that I can use my link magic in order to see the link of magic you have from your parents" Meldy said
" Will that really work?" I asked growing suspicious
" Yes. But that doesn't mean it will give you an exact answer on who your parents are" Meldy told me
" Eric" Jellal said calling my attention
" Yes Jellal" I said turning to him
"Why did you trust me so easily. For all you could know I can be a wantd criminal or a murderer" Jellal told me with sadness in is eyes
" ...You're not evil" I started
" Your heart is filled with pure intentions. Even if you were evil, you are the type of person who would regret and amend to his sins...even if those close to you already forgave you" I said not knowing why I knew this
" Thank you...I have something to confess" he said as Ultear and Meldy gasped
Jellal POV
I dont know why but I feel like I can trust this kid...He's very noble and would do anything for his friends, just like Erza.
" What?" Eric said
" The truth is...the truth is that I am a man who has committed many sins in his life" I said not daring to look him in the ee
" How so?" he just questioned
" I imprisoned many, tricked my friends, tried to sacrifice the one I love, tried to kill innocent lives, bring back an unstoppable being and worse of all... killed one of my closest friends" I said realizing I had tears rolling on my cheeks.
" Do you regret?" Eric said as I looked down
" More than anything" I responded
" What about the one you love?" he questioned as I senced his presense getting closer
" What about her?" I asked
" Did you ever confess?" he asked me. what does this have to do with anything?
" No. I choose not to. Someone with such honor and respect should not be tainted by someone as pitiful as me" I said
" Is that what she thinks" he asked me
" I don't think so, but everyone else probably does... even your guild" I said feeling only shame
" I haven't been in Fairy Tail that long, but I know they would not think that of you" he responded looking at me face to face.
When I see him I see my hair, Erza's eyes, My spirit, her nobleness, my persuasiveness, her intimidation. I shake off the idea.
"Fairy Tail is like a family and families forgive each other" Eric said and did something unexpected
He hugged me
Surprisingly i hugged him back. He felt like someone i could trust
Someone i felt close to
Someone who was like me
Natsu POV
I felt so ...weird hanging out with Lisanna today. It felt so unnatural, like it was wrong to be with her and that I should be with someone else.
" Hey Lisanna" I said to Lisanna who was staring at the sky
" Yes Natsu?" she asked
" I have to go" I said and apologized to her
" Why are you leaving?" she asked
"I uh...promised Happy I'd buy him some fish before the place closed" yeah that seems believable,right?
" Oh, alright!" she said and happily skipped off. Weird.
I went to get the fish for Happy and I wasn't looking towards where I was running when I fell on something
" Ow!" I said
" Natsu!? Get off of me!" I heard someone say
" Luce? What are you doing?" I said and got up while raising Lucy
" I was looking for Natalie. She hasn't come back with Eric and I'm worried" she said. I smelled the air. Her scent is pretty faint but I could smell her
" Come on Luce, I think I know where she is" I said and grabbed her hand while running to the forest
" Let me call Erza, she seems worried too" Luce said and called Erza using the phone the council provided her
~A few minutes later~
We were walking in the forest when I saw footprints.
" Were on the right track" I said and kept walking
LUCY POV
I've been walking in the forest with Natsu in search of Natalie and Eric for a while now. So far our only clue are their footprints and Natalie's scent.
" Natsu have you ever been this deep in the woods?" I HAD to ask. How would we head back if we were lost.
" Yeah but the forest looks like its changed" he responded
" Hey look at that!" I said as I saw the figure of a human on the dirt. Thank Mavis it was only a outlining but the shape looked like Natalie
" They've been here" Natsu said
" Lets hurry up!" I said and we began to run till we reached a cottage.
MELDY POV
It seemed that Natalie was going to be alright. The bond got repaired maybe even stronger. I used the chance to check Jellal's bond with Eric. Its ws pretty strong to say the least, like a father and son.
I heard a knock on the door as I opened it I saw two people whom I thought died years ago and recently was told that they were alive: Natsu Dragoneel and Lucy Heartfillia
" Lucy-san! Natsu-san!" I said as I saw them
" Meldy!" they both said making Jellal, Ultear and Eric look over. I pulled them inside.
" Lucy! Natsu! what are you doing here?" Eric asked
" Eric! we were worried about you!" Lucy said and hugged him
" Erza might kill you for being gone so long without saying anything" Natsu said
" Natsu" Jellal said
REG POV
" Jellal" Natsu said as he turned to face him
" Hows it been!" Natsu said and smiled
" Aren't you going to punch me or something?" Jellal asked
" Why would I? You even started a guild!" Natsu said. Sure Jellal got on his bad side while he was evil but Natsu knew about his new guild which destroyed many dark guilds
" How long has it been since we last saw each other?" Jellal asked
" About 7 years" Natsu said and noticed Natalie
" Is she alright!?" Natsu asked
" She'll be fine. She just needs a little rest" Ultear said and Natsu started to violently shake her
" Hey kid! Wake up!" Natsu said/screamed as Natalie sat up and bumped her head with Natsu's
"OW!" they both said
"Gosh Natsu" Lucy sighed
" Thanks for taking care of them" Lucy said
"No problem Lucy!" Meldy said
" Please refrain from telling anyone about us " Ultear said
" Alright. Nice seeing you guys!" Natsu said as they walked out the door
'Can I see you again?' Eric asked Jellal telepathically
' Of course' he responded as he saw them leave
