Recall: "If you win, I'll leave you alone, and never come back."
"And if you win."
"Then you belong...to me."
"FORGET IT!" Kagome yelled running towards him about to attack. With much determination, she tried to stab him, but he moved out of the way, gripping her wrist and twisting it. The action caused her to drop her knife. She went to stand up when Inuyasha pressed against her wounded shoulder. The pain slowly increasing she cried out. He flung her down on the floor, kicking her a few times in the ribs, causing her to hold vital areas. Once content with her current state, he stopped and kneeled to her level.
"Looks like you lose, my sweet." Kagome growled angrily.
"I never agreed to your games!" She said, trying to punch him, to which he easily caught her hand.
"Sadly, I don't give a fuck." Grabbing her hair, Inuyasha slammed her head against the floor of the train, leaving her unconscious. The train came to its destination, the doors opening allowing passengers to leave. Picking her up bridal style, he kissed her fore- head. "Don't worry my sweet. You'll like your new home.
Chapter 4: The Memories
.
With the young slayer still in his arms, Inuyasha made his way from the subway onto street level. The few humans that were walking along the streets didn't seem to mind that he was carrying an unconscious woman, or just didn't care. Not that it mattered to him, he dared someone to say something to him, it would make his night. Still he thought it best not to draw attention to himself, so he quietly walked forward away from the humans. Once there was no one in sight he began to summon a porthole. The wind blew hard as the black void to another dimension grew bigger and bigger. Kagome began to stir, making him hold onto her a little tighter. Once she was in his realm, it was going to be impossible for her to come back to Earth on her own. The thought didn't disappoint Inuyasha at all. Being with him, he was able to do whatever he wanted with her. Kagome didn't stand a chance in an unfamiliar place like his realm.
Suddenly, an arrow flew past his cheek, a small cut forming. Inuyasha growled, closing the porthole as the cut slowly healed in a matter of seconds. Obviously, someone wanted to challenge him. He didn't have time, for he had a prior engagement, but it was better to take care of this annoyance at the present. Calmly, he placed Kagome at a nearby bench before standing in the middle of the street. The fuzzy dog ears on the top of his head tweaked a few times, trying to pick up any sounds near him.
"Who dares to interfere?" No answer. Inuyasha growled in frustration. "Show yourself." He called out. Still nothing, but he wasn't a fool. There was no way the irritation was going to leave as soon as they came. But who would dare confront him? Obviously, it wasn't a normal human, nor a vampire for they would just defy him without the use of meaningless tools. Not only that, but a regular vampire would know better than to approach him, especially at a time like this. Still, the silence remained. The vampire was about to ignore the person when out of nowhere, smoke bombs flew over his head. He growled as he covered his nose, stumbling a little as the smoke filled his lungs. With him at a disadvantage, the person now revealed themselves by kicking Inuyasha in the stomach. He groaned in pain, trying to smell out the person, but all he could smell was smoke. Again, he was struck this time in the face.
"Get away from my cousin!" The figure screamed before plunging a stake into Inuyasha's heart. He cried out in pain, trying to lash out again, but was blocked, the stake being pushed further into his chest. He fell to the ground, gasping for air while the instrument remained. Satisfied with Inuyasha's current state, the identified slayer ran over to a still unconscious Kagome.
"Kagome…" The person said, tapping her face a few times. "Wake up…Wake up!" She groaned, shaking her head before opening her eyes.
"What who…" Kagome said groggily. In response, the slayer took off her helmet. Jet black hair cascading down her back, big brown optimistic eyes greeting the younger slayer with hope. "R-Rin?" She asked, still feeling a bit out of it.
"Ah…thank God." She said, letting out a sigh of relief.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were in the states."
"Say hello to your new partner."
"You filthy fucking wench." They heard an angry voice spew out. The smoke dispensed, revealing a not too happy Inuyasha, pulling the stake from his body.
"He didn't die? Are you kidding?" Rin placed her helmet back on, taking her crossbow from her back, she began shooting at him as he approached them. He cried out, as two made their mark in his chest while another hit his head. Still, he continued to walk towards them, this time his claws growing larger in size.
"Agh…didn't think I'd ever see one of these again…Let's go, now!" Grabbing Kagome's arm, the two ladies ran over to her bike nearby. She threw a spare helmet Kagome's way, to which she quickly placed it on before hopping onto the bike. As soon as the two were on, Rin started the bike, immediately racing away. This left Inuyasha agitated, as he removed the arrows from his person.
"That's just great." He huffed before smirking. "Okay, let's play." Slowly, his wings emerging from his back, his eyes now glowing red while his claws grew.
Meanwhile, Rin was darting fast, trying to make it out of town. They had a pretty good head start, but there was no telling how fast he was, whether he was injured or not. The last thing she wanted to do was underestimate her opponent. It wasn't long before they came to a fork in the road.
"Head to the left. No point of scaring the civilians." Kagome said.
"Got it." She responded turning left. As they rode, they were now surrounded by more trees than buildings. Safe to say there wouldn't be anyone wondering about to discover the creature.
"This is crazy, you're here now. Why are we running?"
"We can't kill him with anything." She explained. "Had I known it was this kind of vampire, I would have suggested you come stay with me. This is going to be way more of a chore."
"You've dealt with his kind before." Rin tightened her grip on the handle bars.
"Years ago." She was quiet for a little while. "Is he still kicking?" She finally asked. Kagome looked back to see him still flying at them.
"Ya."
"See what I mean? And he's taken a liking to you. It's gonna be hard to shake him."
Inuyasha smirked as he was gaining on them. He charged at them, before slamming himself into the motorcycle, causing Rin to lose control for a second. Not wanting to miss a beat, he slammed into them again, this time making Rin lose complete control as they were both thrown from the bike. The motorcycle flipped a few times before it caught fire. Hurt, Kagome tried to move away from it, being that she was still a little close but suddenly forced down by a hand on her still injured shoulder. She cried out, trying to push him away, but no luck.
"Still hurts, doesn't it?" He pressed down harder, causing Kagome to scream. Inuyasha smirked, being satisfied that he was back in control when he was suddenly hit from behind. He looked down to see it was the other slayer's helmet. Looking back to her, he saw her panting. Pushing her hair from out of her face, he could see that she had much determination in her eyes.
"We aren't done here." She said, limping forward.
"This fucking…" He turned back to Kagome. "Excuse me for a second, my sweet. I have an itch that needs to be scratched." He said, making his was to the interference. She went to strike but Inuyasha easily blocked her attempt with his arm before pushing her back onto the ground. She winced slightly as his claws glowed a sickeningly green color.
"Don't touch her." Kagome said, taking the discarded crossbow and aiming it at his head. True, it wasn't going to kill him, but just to stun him a little so Rin could get away would be enough. However, Inuyasha refused to move, instead, grabbing her by the collar and pointing his claws to her neck.
"Come with me, and I won't kill her." He threatened. Kagome growled in anger, tightening her grasp on the weapon. This is exactly why she didn't want a partner. She wasn't sure just how strong he was. Now that she got a better idea, she cursed herself for getting Rin mixed up in with her nonsense. She shook slightly in fear; not believing him for a second that he wouldn't hurt her cousin. Never the less, she dropped the crossbow, deciding it would be best not to take a chance with her life.
"Fine." She said, holding her hands up in defeat making him smile. His victory was short lived when Rin grabbed his arm, pinning it behind his back.
"You insolent little-" His words were cut off by a kick to the knee, to which he cried out in pain. Rin took a small bottle from her pocket and smashed in on the ground. Holy water that was evaporated into gas. Although it had no effect on the two slayers, Inuyasha was feeling a bit disoriented. Gasping for air, he clutched onto his chest, the burning sensation filling the oxygen in the air. Still, he attempted to stay focused on the little interference in front of him. There was no way he was going to give up taking Kagome for his own, right when he was so close. This cousin of hers was surely going to pay for her insubordination. He tried to strike Rin, but she easily dodged his attack, jabbing him twice in the face.
"Run." Rin said to Kagome, kicking Inuyasha, causing him to stumble.
"What? I'm not going to…" Again, he tried to slice her neck when she ducked, causing him to miss. Seeing an opening, she elbowed him in the gut, making him hunch over in pain.
"He's after you! Just leave before he-" Rin's speech was suddenly cut off by a hand around her throat. Now that the gas was almost completely gone, Inuyasha was able to regain his composure. With much force, she tried to relieve herself from his constraint, but to no avail. There was so much anger in his eyes, Rin shivered in fear from the intense chill she was feeling. Inuyasha pinned her down once again, this time getting a good look at her face. She looked very similar to Kagome but had almost a childish appearance to her. The nagging feeling of déjà vu hit him as if something of this nature happened before. She struggled under his grip as he inhaled her scent. He remembered being around this familiar smell, but he was having a hard time remembering specifically what it was.
"Heh…hey haven't I seen you before?" Before Rin answered, when he was stabbed in the head with an arrow. "Oh ya…" He said, pushing the annoyance away before bringing his attention back to Kagome. "I was so distracted I almost forgot about you." Again, she loaded the crossbow, shooting him again and again but each shot made Inuyasha inch closer to her faster and faster.
"Why won't you die?" She yelled, about to shoot again when he held onto it.
"The staking me is getting old, my sweet." He said before crushing it.
"Ya? How about this?" Grabbing his jacket, she pressed her lips against his, shocking him immensely. Not questioning anything, he began to relax under her touching, beginning to deepen the kiss when she suddenly pushed him into the burning motorcycle. He cried out in agony as he was engulfed in the flames. With no time to waste, Kagome ran over to her cousin.
"Rin, are you okay?" She asked, helping her up.
"I'm good."
"Rin…" They heard, turning back to look at an inflamed vampire, still not dead. "Of course." Inuyasha stood up once again, his burning flesh reverting to its original state. The two ladies held their hands up in defense. Even with two, they still were no match for Inuyasha. If it wasn't for the fact that he didn't die, no matter what they did, they would have been done with this. The sun was close to rising at this point. All that was needed now was to buy time.
"I thought I recognized you." Inuyasha said, his wounds now fully healed. "Rin…yes…it's been a few years now."
"What?" Kagome looked at Rin completely confused. "You know him."
"No. Why would I know him?"
"Sesshomaru's gonna be thrilled when I tell him I found his pet." Rin gasped at the name, dropping her hands to her sides. How could she forget? After everything that happened to her, one would think there would be no forgetting. He smirked at her reaction.
"I-Inuyasha?"
"In the flesh." Kagome still didn't understand.
"Who the hell is Sesshomaru?" She turned to look at Rin who was panting slowly, tears started to form from her eyes as memories from her past started to rush to her head.
"You see, my sweet, Sesshomaru is my half-brother. It was a few years ago, I think, Sesshomaru and I were trying to feed when we were so rudely interrupted by her. Ordinarily we would have killed her, but Sesshomaru was sort of… infatuated with her." Rin turned her head, like if she were disgusted. "So, we took her back home with us."
"Shut up!" She screamed, charging at Inuyasha with a knife. In response, he swiped the knife from her hand, taking his arm, wrapping it around her neck. Rin struggled as he tightened his grip.
"The little pet needed to know her place. Sesshomaru had to remind her every night who was in charge, am I right?" Rin managed to get one of her hands free. Using it, she back handed him from her before punching him in the face.
"I swear, say one more thing and I'll-" She was cut off by his hand at her throat, then he floored her to the ground. She placed her hand on his, trying to tear his grip from her, but nothing came about it.
"But the bad little pet escaped, didn't she?" He said, continuing his taunting.
"Let go of me!"
"Now it's time for the little pet to come back home."
Of course he enjoyed making her squirm. She ruined his fun with his play thing, not to mention giving him a few painful stabs here and there. But it was all good. He knew once Sesshomaru found out her location, she was in for quite the reunion. Inuyasha was so caught up in her response, that he didn't notice Kagome running towards him until she flipped him off Rin and onto the ground. She punched him in the face before taking a knife sticking it at his neck.
"Haven't you tried this?" He asked, unimpressed.
"You and your brother better stay away from Rin. There has to be some way to kill you two freaks and I promise you I'll find out what it is and will happily eliminate you from this world."
"Maybe I'd be more convinced if you weren't on top of me." She blushed, realizing the compromising position she was in, Kagome attempted to stand up but was held in place by the vampire. "I personally enjoy showing my dominance, but seeing you try is very amusing."
"Disgusting freak!" She said, punching him in the face. He reacted by pushing her off.
"I can see defiance runs in the family." He was about to attack when a familiar burn hit his skin. "Dammit!" He said, blocking his face from the sun that was now rising, his body starting to steam. He turned his attention back to Kagome. "Enjoy your freedom for one more day. For the next time we meet, you'll belong to me…Bye then…" He said before disappearing. Kagome let out a frustrated sigh before collapsing on the ground. Her heart was racing, panting softly, she could see her cold breath.
"Hey…are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Rin responded, but wasn't convincing. Kagome stood up, wiping the dirt from her body.
"Let's get out of here."
