Hey guys. So sorry it took me so long to update, but I've been really busy and I wasn't getting much feedback.
Hopefully this story will get moving quickly.
Anyway, here's your chapter.
Chapter 4: Grief and comfort.
Warning: The topic of miscarriage will be used throughout this chapter, so if that affects you in anyway, do not read this chapter.
You've been warned.

THIRD PERSON'S .
Alec walks into the institute infirmary with Clary and Magnus behind him. After they received the awful news that Izzy is losing her baby, they rushed over here.
Alec see's Isabelle sitting in one of the beds in a hospital gown, holding a scan picture of the baby, with tears trickling down her face. Simon is sitting on the bed beside her, looking at the scan picture with watery eyes.
Izzy looks up from her scan picture, and Alec can Cleary see the pain and grief his baby sister is feeling, displayed on her pale face. He walks over to her and sits down beside her, wrapping his arms around her. She buries her face in his chest and stars sobbing hysterically, clinging onto her big brother for comfort. Alec soothingly rubs Izzy's back and kisses her hair.
"It's not fair Alec!" She chokes out. No, fair is one thing this is not. But then again, when are things ever fair? Was it fair that he and Magnus were being blessed with a perfectly healthy little girl, and the best surrogate and best friend in the world, while Isabelle and Simon lose their little boy? No it most certainly is not. And that's why Alec is now more determined than ever to have Izzy heavily involved in his little girl's life.
"I know, Iz, I know. I'm so sorry." He whispers, gently swaying her back and forth trying to calm her down.
"It's so unfair! There are, what 7 billion people in the world, and out of them my little boy has to be the one to die? That's not fair! He never did anything to anyone; he was a tiny innocent little baby that wasn't even born yet. The only voices he ever heard were mine, Simon's and Jace's. Why does this happen, Alec?" Izzy says. Alec sighs quietly to himself, as he wishes he knew the answer to that question.
"I don't know Iz, I just don't know." He quietly tells her.
"It's always the good ones who die. First Max, then Hodge- I know he wasn't the greatest guy alive and he helped Valentine, but he really cared about us. - And now my little boy." Izzy whispers. It's true; it's always the good people who die.
"I know, Iz. Nothing's ever really fair is it?" He asks.
"No." Izzy whispers. Isabelle seems to have calmed down a bit now.
"Clary, did you have your scan yet?" She suddenly asks her sister-in-law. Clary nods.
"Yeah, earlier today, why?" She says.
"Is everything okay?" Izzy anxiously asks. It's bad enough she's lost her little boy, it would be treacherous if something happened to her brother's baby.
"Yeah, everything's fine." She says.
"Good." Izzy says.
About half an hour after they arrived at the institute, Magnus has had enough of seeing his sister- in-law- who may as well be his little sister- in so much pain. He knows there's nothing he can do about it, but he can provide her with love and comfort. He walks over to her and embraces her.
"I am so sorry Izzy." He whispers in her ear.
"Mags, can I ask you a really important- and possibly stupid- question?" Izzy asks.
"Nothing you say is stupid Iz, except maybe that Jace isn't a pain in the ass. But of course you can, ask me anything." Magnus says, in attempt to cheer Izzy up. He notices a faint smile on her lips.
"Will Simon and I ever be able to conceive again?" She nervously asks.
"Of course! If you give yourself enough time to heal, mentally and physically, you should have no problems conceiving again, and when you do, I will be at your call 24/7. Unless of course you would prefer to go to a mundane doctor." He gently tells her.
"How long should we leave until we try again?" Izzy asks.
"It's different for a lot of people, but I recommend you and Simon wait at least year, if not more, to make sure you've fully recovered. It's extra hard on you because you're so young." He tells her.
"So, we should be able to conceive again, once we wait the right amount of time?" Simon asks.
"Yes, Simon." Magnus says. Usually he wouldn't bother trying to remember the boy's name, but he doesn't want to annoy him when he's already so upset.
*That night*
"Poor Izzy." Jocelyn whispers, as she, Luke, Magnus, Jace and Clary sit in the living room of the institute. Clary had called her parents just a short while ago, to break the news to them and to let them know Simon needed them.
"She and Simon aren't going to get over this easily." Magnus says.
"No one does." Jocelyn says.
Clary runs both her hand across her belly, thinking about the precious life growing inside her. Even though they got an all clear at the ultrasound, she's still terrified something will happen to the baby. She vows to herself, and the baby, that she will not let anything happen to them. It's her responsibility to carry this baby and keep her safe, and so she will.
"Clary what's wrong, are you in pain?" a panicked Jace asks Clary, as he notices her rubbing both hands across her stomach and tears welling up in her eyes.
"No, no I'm fine... just... a little scared is all." She whispers. Jace places his hand on top of hers.
"Nothing is going to happen to our little nephew, we are going to keep him as safe as a baby can be, for the next 6 months."He whispers. Clary smiles.
"She, actually." She says. Jace slaps his hand on his knee.
"Dammit! Alec wins the bet." He says. Clary looks at her husband with raised eyebrows.
"You guys bet on the sex of the baby?" She asks.
"Well, not really bet. About a week ago, Alec kept insisting the baby was a girl when we were arguing who her favourite uncle would be- me or Simon, Alec kept saying Simon just to piss me off- anyway I told him again and again that I knew it was boy, so he said if the baby's a boy he would let Magnus dress him for a week straight- makeup and all. But if the baby's a girl, I have to let Simon lecture me on all of his fandoms for a whole day." Jace says. Clary laughs, that is Jace's worst nightmare.
"I don't think you'll be getting lectured anytime soon, Simon's too upset." Clary says. As much as Jace dislikes Simon, would never, ever, wish that he would lose a child. He feels so sorry for his baby sister and brother-in-law.
"They really don't deserve this." Magnus says.
"Not at all." Luke agrees.
That night, Alec, and Magnus stay in the institute in Alec's old room, because they know Izzy and Simon need all the support they can get.
Though it seems to be a sleepless nights for the residents of the New York Institute.
Isabelle wakens every few hours from either nightmares or heart wrenchingly beautiful dreams about the little boy she lost. Simon also has dreams about the son he will never have, but he doesn't wake up screaming, like his wife. But when she does, he immediately wakens and puts his arms around her, and together the two of them cry for their little boy, that they will never meet.
Alec is unable to sleep due to being so worried about his little sister. Sleep also seems to Elude Magnus, as he racks his brain for ways to help Isabelle and Simon through this rough time.
Clary can't sleep for fear that there is something wrong with the baby. Her fears and worries had kept her awake many other times as well. She knows there's nothing wrong with the baby but she seems to notice small cramps in her abdomen. They're barely noticeable and are most likely due to stress. As for her pounding headache, she presumes it's due to over worrying. Though they were told nothing is wrong, Clary can't help but feel something is about to go wrong.
Jace hates falling asleep, knowing Clary is so worried and afraid, so he also has a sleepless night. He known's there's nothing wrong with the baby, but he understands why Clary thinks there is.
It's not until 2:00am when Jace is awoken to Clary screaming and groaning in pain, does he know there's something wrong.
Okay, here it is. Very sad, I know. I just wanna say Clary isn't having a miscarriage, I'm not that mean. But there could be something seriously wrong with the baby.
I'm not sure about this chapter, so please reviews and let me know what you think.
Oh also, I know that I previously said that this was the prequel to baby Lightwood Bane, but my ideas for this story escalated beyond being able to use it as a prequel, so this is just a Malec baby story. I may do an actual prequel to baby Lightwood Bane, though I'm not sure.
Anyway I love you all.
