To all readers who followed this story, I apologize it took me this long to update. I was struggling hard to integrate the rule of duel monster into a normal fight without using any law of Psychic Duelist. And before the actual story. I'll reply to a review from DragonXDeliquent: yes, the dark signer will at some point, appear, but not in a close time.
Now that it has been taken care of, let's start the third draw!
Draw 3: The King vs The Knight! Great Battle of Familiar Festival
It has been six days since I bought Derflinger and my little dagger. Right now, I was training for the exhibition, particularly training a sword spinning. I used to train with a yoda-sized lightsaber replica when I was a teenager, so doing a sword spinning with Derf might need a little bit time to get used to.
"You're getting good, partner. No more miss and accidental hit like that one time when I accidentally hit your pelvic from your missed spinning" Derflinger said commenting on my spinning
"I don't need you to remind me about that, you know" I said with a pokerface. It was embarrassing enough getting hit at that place, especially if one of your friends saw you. Yes, a friend watched that happened, namely Siesta. She was watching me training after she's done with her work at that time.
"Yosh! Looks like it's enough for today" I said as I stopped spinning Derf and put him in his scabbard. I picked up a towel and used it to wipe the sweat off my body.
"Hey, partner" Derf called out as I was resting while wiping my sweat off.
"What is it?"
"You do know that just doing a sword spinning wouldn't make a quite great performance, right?"
"Well, you have a point. But what else am I gonna do other than that?"
"Duh, I'm a weapon, and you have quite the skills, show them some battle technique too" Derf said and I gave it a thought. If I'm gonna show them some battle tech, I need an opponent, but who?. As I was thinking I remembered about my duel with Guiche, his golems would be a great target for this, I'll just ask him after their classes are done.
Oh well, I'm done with my training now, so might as well go to Jean's Lab and continue with our project. We already asked permission from the headmaster to do a project here, which is a research on making the D-Commune. I got up and went to Jean's Lab, and as I came in, I found him inside examining my sketches and notes of our researches so far.
Louise was wandering around the academy looking for her familiar. She had allowed him to not accompany her in class in order to train for the exhibition. She walked hurriedly from one court to another to find him to no avail. As she was wondering where his familiar could be, she bumped into the maid, Siesta and both of them fell to the floor.
"My deepest apologies Ms. Valiere, I didn't see you earlier" She said as she was getting up.
"Hmph, next time try not to bump into anyone" Louise responded, acting as usual. "By the way, have you seen Rully?"
"Ah if you're looking for him, I saw him in Mr. Colbert's lab earlier" Siesta answered while dusting her maid uniform. Louise nodded as thanks and walked away. Now that she know where her familiar is, she walked calmly unlike before. As she was getting near her teacher's lab, she saw that a glow was emanating from inside. She wondered what it was, until a shout was heard.
"It's gonna blow! Let's get outta here!" She heard her familiar shouted from inside. And as if on cue, not long after, an explosion took place inside the lab. Worried for her familiar's and teacher's safety, she ran hurriedly to the lab.
I ran out of the lab with Jean behind me and Derf in my hand. Smoke erupted from inside the lab, finding its way to the air outside just as we made it out. We were coughing loudly while trying to dismiss the smoke that covered our way.
"It's impossible, I have made a precise calculation before, how could it explode like that?" Jean asked to no one as he was still coughing and catching his breath.
"Precise calculation my ass!" I shouted as I slapped his balding forehead in a tsukkomi slap. "I already warned you that it might be overloaded with electricity, yet you still charge it like there's no tomorrow, of course it would explode!"
"Now that you mention it….. I guess I was too excited for the experiment that I can barely hear your warning" Jean said while rubbing the back of his head.
"Rully! Professor Colbert!" Louise called our name as I saw her hurriedly ran to us. "What happened? What was that explosion?"
"It's nothing, just a little mistake we made in our project" Jean said dismissively, trying not to make Louise worry.
"More like stupid mistake" I stated while making an expressionless face, Jean only laugh sheepishly while scratching the back of his head.
We were working on our project earlier with Jean finally manages to make a replica of battery by taking reference from my Phoenix Wheels' battery which he borrowed just the day after I bought Derf. He has just done when I went to his lab after training, so we decided to test it by charging it. It seemed to be a success until he overloaded it and eventually blew it.
"Looks like this one is a failure then" Jean began as he was dusting his clothes. "It was supposed to be able to store more electricity than the original battery"
"Yeah. At least we now knew what we need to make one" I replied his comment while dusting my clothes too.
"What were you making anyway? I don't think the device you talked about a few days ago won't be able to make that huge explosion, so what was it?" Louise asked curiously
"We tried to make an electrical power source like the one from Rully's wheel" Jean replied to Louise as he finished cleaning his face from soot.
"After all, the D-commune won't work if we don't have any power source for it" I finished. Louise just hummed with our answer, but then she seems like she remembered something.
"Ah! That's right! Rully we need to hurry, princess' carriage will arrive soon, we need to prepare for her arrival" Louise shouted as she was now pulling me by my arm
"Whoa! Slow down, let me grab my duel disk first, will ya?"
We were now stood with all other students at the main gate. I was standing beside Louise, wearing my in ring costume. The trumpet boomed as the carriage came in, pulled by a few unicorns, I barely resisted letting out a whistle at the sight.
The carriage stopped and from inside of it a knight with a face that looked very much like an older Guiche stepped out. He looked at everyone present, stopping at me a few seconds before he resumed.
"Presenting Her Highness, Princess Henrietta de Tristain!" He shouted, and a few seconds later all students gasp at seeing the person stepping out of it.
She was probably at the same age as Louise, has violet hair and clear blue eyes. She wore white dress that despite having less details than my coat, it manages to give her a royal aura. She wore purple cape over the dress, and on her head was a silver tiara.
"I gotta say…. She has this gentle ruler aura. And by everyone's reaction to her, I'd say she is a loved ruler" I quietly commented
"She is" Louise replied, her eyes fixed on her. And I can feel some admiration from her. She seems to look up to her very much.
"My apologies for such a selfish act, Old Osmond. I have caused you a lot of trouble with my coming here" I heard her said to the headmaster.
"Don't worry about that stuff, Your Highness" Old Osmond replied still kneeling. "It was our honor to have you here as a judge to the exhibition."
"Forgive my rudeness, but may I ask if there was any particular reason for you to attend this matter yourself?"
"I had a personal reason to come here, yes" The princess replied with a smile. I can't hear anymore conversation between them so I just watched in silence. A few moments later the princess was taken by Old Osmond and Ms. Longueville, presumably to her quarters. The students dispersed afterwards.
"So, what are you going to do tomorrow?" Louise asked as we walked away from the area.
"I'm thinking of asking Guiche to send a few golems to attack me while I fight them with Derf." I began as I put a hand on my chin. "Sword spinning alone wouldn't be enough to catch the audience's interest"
"Let's ask Guiche about it then" Louise suggested, we look around and saw Guiche was talking to the knight earlier "He's still there anyway"
"Hey Guiche" I called as we reached them. Both men turned their attention to us.
"Ah Rully and Louise" Guiche replied, he then turned to the older man. "Brother, this is Louise de la Valliere and her Familiar Lord Wahyu Rullyanto. Louise, Rully, this is my brother, Lamark"
"So he is the commoner king that defeated you in a duel a few weeks ago?" I heard Guiche's brother, Lamark commented right after Guiche introduced us.
"Please don't say anything about that loss, brother" Guiche said weakly, his head down in shame. I can barely held my laughter seeing him like that. I like his brother a bit already
"Anyway, I am Lamark de Gramont. Knight of the Gryphon corps. Of Tristain." Lamark introduced himself while crossing his arm over his chest. "I'm quite curious if your power to summon an control creatures was true"
"Why don't we have a spar to see it then" I smiled as I crossed my arms over my chest too. "That is, if you can have a time off your duty tomorrow"
"Tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I was about to ask your brother here to help me by summoning a few golems to fight at the exhibition tomorrow" I said calmly and paused a bit. "But seeing as you want to know if my ability is real, we can have a duel instead "
Lamark paused for a moment, and then smiled. "I'll look forward to it then. I might retrieve my family's honor from Guiche losing to you"
"Heh, Just try it if you can" I said to him as I offered a handshake. Lamark stay silent for a moment and then shook it. As he left, I just realized I forgot to act like an arrogant king like usual. Oh well, what's done is done. I turn around to see both Louise and Guiche with their mouth hanging open.
"What?"
I spent the rest of the day training with Guiche to prepare for my duel tomorrow. Of course I was wearing my black jacket instead of my King outfit. To say the training was intense is a little bit of understatement, Guiche were really going all out in the training, Summoning his golems with more power and less speed to make it closer to his brother's.
During the duel, I also found out that the rules were changed when I was in a real battle, and not a card duel. During my turn, my opponent can still attack me and my monsters, my turn wasn't end until I finished my attack without doing anything for a while, or if I declared so, even if it was done very quietly. The opponent's turn considered to end if I can somehow make a distance between us after being attacked. If I draw out of the rule (i.e. if I forgot to state that my turn has ended, then I draw a card when I thought it's my turn again), the duel will automatically called off.
By the time we finished training, it was already night. Right now, both me and Louise were in our room, talking about our performance tomorrow, while she was cuddling with roadrunner. As we were talking, a knock was heard. I looked to Louise to silently ask if she was expecting someone. As she shook her head, I drew Derf and approached the door slowly.
As I opened the door, there was a hooded girl in front of me. Just when I was about to ask who she was and what she want, she ran past me and jumped at Louise, losing her hood in the process, revealing the person to be none other than the princess.
"It's been a while, Louise Francoise" The princess said as she hugged Louise tightly. I'd never expect them to know each other.
"Y-your highness!" Louise could only said that as a response.
"I missed you Louise" Princess Henrietta said as she hugged Louise tighter. A quacking sound interrupted them and forces them to let go of the hug as they realized the poor pink roadrunner was crushed between their bodies.
"Oh! I'm sorry Louise! I didn't realize your familiar was there" She said in panic, assuming roadrunner was my master's familiar.
"You mustn't come to such a lowly place on your own, Your Highness" The pinkette said as she kneeled while hugging the roadrunner. The poor bird still struggling to get some fresh air.
"Please drop the formalities, Louise Francoise. We are friends after all" She said kindly, causing Louise to look up at her and smiled
"Your kind words are too much for me, Your Highness" Louise said softly. Then I just walked away to the side and leaned to Louise's cupboard. The pinkette seems to notice me and shouted "Rully! What are you doing? Hurry up and kneel before her!"
"Oh, I didn't realized you were with your lover at the moment, I'm sorry to have interrupted you" The princess said as she just noticed me in this room and thought that I was Louise's lover.
"L-l-lover!? He wasn't my lover! He's just my familiar" Louise denied while blushing madly, she then turned to me and once again shouted "You! Hurry up and kneel!"
"Kneel? What for? We're both fellow ruler here, I don't have to kneel to her" I replied to Louise as I once again call myself a king. "Besides, she just said to drop the formalities"
"You're not here as a ruler! You're here as my familiar so you should kneel to her!" And with that, yet another one of our argument was started.
"I-it's quite okay, Louise" The princess said gaining our attention and effectively stopped our bickering. Louise once again kneeling while I just stood there. "but I thought that pink bird is your familiar"
"No she wasn't. she was a gift from my familiar" Louise replied with me nodding as a confirmation.
"If I may ask, what is your relation with the princess, Louise" I asked her curiously as I was still wondering the relation between the two of them.
"I had the honor of being the royal playmate when Her Highness and I were little" Louise replied softly while smiling, I raised one brow at her choice of word.
"So basically, you and the princess are childhood friends?" I asked again just to make sure if I translated that right. "Geez, can't you just say it with an easier term?"
"He's right Louise, can you not just say that we were childhood friends?" she asked with a smile and tears flowing out of her eyes, obviously tears of joy from meeting her friend after so long. "I've missed you so much Louise"
"Your Highness…."
"I'm sorry" The princess said as she wiped her tears "Ever since my father passed away I don't really have anyone to talk to"
"My condolences, Princess" I said solemnly as I bowed slightly
"Thank you, Mr. Familiar. Or should I call you with Lord?"
"Just drop the Lord, as Louise said, I'm not here to represent my country and you also said to drop the formality" I said as I once again leaned to my master's cupboard. I can hear her mumbled something along the line of "rude familiar" or something.
"May I ask what your name, Mr.?" The princess asked after she giggled at Louise's mumbling, apparently she heard that too.
"Wahyu Rullyanto, The King of Duel Kingdom and also Familiar of Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere" I replied introducing myself with a bow. "Just call me Rully"
"I am Henrietta de Tristain, princess of Tristain Kingdom. It is a pleasure to meet you" She replied with a warm smile, then, she turned to Louise. "You have summoned a wonderful familiar, Louise"
Said pinkette was smiling fondly at her words.
"I am looking forward to your performance tomorrow, I heard it will be a duel with Sir Lamark de Gramont?"
"Let's just say that your knight wanted to see my might, so I give him the pleasure of fighting against it" I replied unable to resist my grin.
"But I heard from him that the both of you have something to settle in that duel?"
"Please don't take his words, Your Highness. My familiar here have an unlimited ego when it comes to his ability" Louise interrupted while looking down like she was embarrassed from me bragging my power. While I retaliated with a "hey!" to her, and again, started another argument.
"You really have summoned an interesting familiar, Louise" The princess said after she giggled at yet another argument between me and my master. They spent a few hours to talk afterwards, I don't really care what they talked about since it's not my business. And after that the princess decided to go back to her quarters.
"This is the most fun I had in a few years" The princess said as we got outside of Louise's room. The both of them shared a hug. "Thank you very much, Louise Francoise"
"You're welcome, princess" My master said solemnly as she tightens their hug. After a few seconds, they let go of their hug.
"Sir Rully, I wish you luck in your duel tomorrow" The princess said as she turned her attention to me.
"Ah, thanks" I thanked her while nodding. She then put on her hood and started walking away, going back to her quarters. Louise watching her retreating form all the while. Just as the princess went to a corner, I opened the door to our room and told my master to go in.
Tristain Academy Treasure vault, sometime in the midnight.
A hooded woman was seen walking in the hallway that leads to the fault. The woman was wearing a dark green robe with a hood, her face was securely covered by the hood and from it a light green colored hair was seen poking out. This was Fouquet of The Crumbling Earth, the famous thief that stole treasures from nobles.
She stopped in front of the door to the fault, and took out her wand. She executed a spell to the door but some kind of barrier blocked it.
"So it is just like what he said, this barrier can hold up to triangle class spell…." She said while frowning at her failed attempt. She then turned around and walked to a window.
"It looks like I need to do this tomorrow when the exhibition is going, for now… I'll check on my second target" She said to herself as she leaped to the window and floated. "If what I heard was true, then this card of his would sell high to any client"
She floated to a tower, specifically the girl student dorm and stopped in front of a window. As she was about to put her ear to the window to check if the resident of that room was asleep, the window suddenly burst open, forcing her to quickly floated to the side and hide by the window.
"What's wrong Rully?" She heard the resident of the room, Louise de la Valliere asked to her familiar who opened the window.
"I thought I saw someone floating outside just now" the man called Rully answered his master.
"It might be just your imagination, close the window and sleep! We need to get up quickly tomorrow"
"Hai… hai…."
As the man closed the window, Fouquet let out a breath of relief.
"For a second I was sure I was about to be spotted" she said as she flew away from her hiding spot. "Looks like I need to wait a little longer to steal his cards"
The exhibition went quite well, with Jean as the host and all the student performed their familiar's best ability, some quite boring, while some other quite eccentric, the example being Kirche with her Salamander who was doing some flame tricks, Tabitha with her dragon flying and maneuvering around the sky, Montmorency playing violin while her frog dance and croaking, Guiche….. he just posing on the bed of roses.
As for me, right now I was waiting for our turn, which is the last performance with Louise by my side. The petite girl keeps asking me if I have everything, I believe it was the tenth time she asked that.
"For the last time, Louise. I have everything I need, Derf is on my back, my D-wheel over there for my majestic entry, my duel disk attached to it, my deck in this waist bag, and my extra deck in….." I paused as I was poking the pocket where I usually keep my extra deck in, only to find out that it wasn't there.
"Oh crap…."
"What is it?" Louise asked with worry in her voice "What's wrong with your extra deck?"
"I….. left it in my other jacket" I admitted while facepalming.
"I knew it! Hurry up and grab your extra deck now, before our turn started!" Louise shouted in irritation at my mistake.
"And last but not least, our final performance is Ms. Valliere!" we heard Jean called out our name, signaling our turn to perform.
"Oh no! it's started already" Louise grimaced at hearing that. "We'll fail this one"
"Relax Louise" I said as I pat her on her shoulder. "I still have some strong monster in my deck, and besides I brought both my main deck and spare deck, I could combine them before my entry"
"Is it really going to be okay?"
"Yup, and don't forget about Derf here" I assured her while pointing at Derf with my thumb. "Now go and do as we planned"
With a nod, Louise hurriedly went up to the stage while I hastily opened both bags to combine my deck so it has strongest possible combo without any synchro monsters. And I once again facepalmed as I realized that even the extra deck of my spare deck is in that jacket too. Oh well, Fusion Monster is out of option too then.
Louise stepped up to the stage and stood at the center of the stage. She take a peek to the backstage to see her familiar how was combining his two decks. She cleared her throat and prepared her familiar's introduction.
"My name is Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere, and my familiar is The King of Duel Kingdom, Rully" she exclaimed as a few gasp and murmuring was heard from the audience. "For my performance, we challenged Sir Lamark de Gramont to a duel, and the duel will be held not on this stage, but on the field over there"
Everyone moved their attention to the place where Louise pointed as she was walking to said area.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Sir Lamark de Gramont!" Louise shouted as she reached the area. A few moments later said knight was walking calmly towards Louise, he stopped a few meters away from her.
"And his opponent, My very familiar, The King of Dueling, Wahyu Rullyanto!" She shouted once again now gesturing towards the backstage where a whirring sound could be heard. A few moments later, a white wheel flew out from behind the stage, it landed safely and rolled until it stopped in front of Louise.
"Sorry to keep you all wait, I am the King!" I shouted loudly as I pointed towards the sky with my right hand as I stopped. I detached my duel disk and got off my wheel. Walking calmly and turned toward the audiences while placing my deck into the slot in my duel disk.
"And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, We will entertain you with our duel"
"Don't be mistaken, commoner!" I heard Lamark shouted at me cutting off my speech. "I'm not here to entertain everyone here. I'm here to cleanse my family's name and honor"
"Tch tch tch…." I said as I flailed my finger at him. "You are the one who get this wrong, Knight. You see, a King's duel should be an entertainment for all, not for cleaning your name"
Lamark growled at my statement, probably seeing it as an insult. Just before any of us could say anything, Jean stepped up and cleared his throat.
"I will be the judge for this duel" Jean declared as he looked at me and Lamark in the eyes. "The rules are simple, knock your opponent unconscious or make them give up to win the duel, no dirty tricks allowed"
"And also, there are two additional winning condition for Sir Lamark, deplete the point that is shown in his gauntlet to zero by dealing damages, or force him to use up all his cards" Jean explained.
"As both participant uses summon, both will be given turn to prepare their first summon, after both parties are ready, the duel may truly begin" Jean paused and once again looked to our eyes. "Do you understand?"
"Then, you may start the duel!" Jean declared as he stepped back once he saw us nod wordlessly.
"Since I am the king, and you're the challenger , I'll let you have the first move" I said smugly as I drew 5 cards from my decks.
"Very well then, My name is Lamark de Gramont, also known as Lamark the Silver!" He exclaimed as he drew his sword-wand. "And this golem of mine shall be your opponent"
He slashed the ground and a light shone from the slash mark, after a while the light dimmed down and there, at the exact same place where the light was, a golem stood. It looked exactly like Harald's Einherjar token in Yu-Gi-Oh 5ds.
"My move then." I said as I drew my sixth card. Scanning it for a while then I made my move.
"I set a card" I said as an image of a facedown card appeared for a second before it vanished. "And I summon Genex Ally Duradark!"
The humanoid mech appeared from a portal and it floated in a battle stance.
"So you really can summon something, but unlike what Guiche said, it just a small golem instead of a fiend" Lamark said as he eyed Duradark, seemingly trying to predict its ability.
"Hmph! I won't need my archfiends to defeat small fry like you" I taunted as I slowly drew Derf after I put the remaining cards in my hand in a holder on the gauntlet part of duel disk. "Now let us start this duel already. Or, are you afraid to make the first move?"
"You underestimate my power" I heard Lamark growled as I grin for my taunt had been successful. "Attack!"
The einherjar golem dashed forwards to attack me, but Duradark moved to its path and delivered a punch. The punch connected, but the golem slashed him, causing him to be destroyed in pixels as the golem continued its strike. It slashed downwards to me but I blocked it with Derf, I felt minor pain as the damage from Duradark's battle took its toll on my Life Point, decreasing it by 100.
'So it has 1900 ATK, not bad' I thought as I give the golem a shove causing it to flew a few feet back. Then I jumped and did a downward slash as hard as I can. The recovering golem had no time to block, and it destroyed by my slash.
(LP: 4000 - 3900)
"That's it?" I asked him, yet again trying to taunt him "What a disappointment, even your brother can deal 700 more damage than you did"
The knight growled in irritation before he summoned another einherjar golem again before commanding it to charge at me. I stabbed Derf to the ground and pressed a button on my duel disk, activating my set card.
"I activate Ultimate Offering, this will allow me to have an extra normal summon at the cost of 500 Life Points. Come out! Luster Dragon!" The Blue Dragon appeared from another portal and immediately clashed with the golem. They fight equally for a moment before both being destroyed.
(LP: 3900 - 3400)
"No way! Even Luster Dragon and his golem were destroying each other? I thought it was his strongest lesser monster!?" Guiche shouted in disbelieve as he saw both Luster Dragon and Einherjar Golem destroyed each other.
"How do you know that it was his strongest lesser monster, Guiche?" Kirche asked as she walked beside the man with Tabitha and Montmorency.
"W…well don't tell Rully that I told you this, but yesterday we trained together. Him for preparing this battle, and me to at least improve my golems" Guiche explained.
"During that training I discovered that Rully can only summon a monster in what he said as 'normal summon' without sacrificing other monster as a tribute as long as it was level 4 or below, and that dragon now was his lv 4 monster with strongest Attack point" He finished and the girls nodded at his explanation.
As both of them returned their attention to the duel, they saw that Lamark has summoned another two golems, while Rully summoned two dragons with silver skin and freezing aura around them. Guiche's face turned into that of a confused expression as he saw this.
"What? Why would he summon two Blizzard Dragons that have lower strength than brother's golem?" He shouted in disbelieve again.
"He wasn't planning to fight him with power" Louise suddenly said, her eyes fixed on the duel as she saw that his familiar was yet again taunting the knight.
"What do you mean, Louise?" Montmorency asked, not understanding what Louise meant. Kirche nodded at her question, clearly not understand about it either.
"From what I hear from Rully, some monster have an ability other their strength. Like his bell shaped fiend that can stun any attacker for a while. I think these dragons has that ability" Both Kirche and Montmorency just stay silent and looked at each other, still not understanding.
Meanwhile, right after Luster Dragon was destroyed.
"My turn now!" I shouted as I draw a card. I scanned the card I just drew and the cards in my hand, trying to think of a way to end this fight quickly before it gone south.
"Partner! Look out! Incomings!" Derf shout snapped me out of my thinking as I looked up just in time to see two golems flew straight at me. I drew Derf from the ground, and used him to block a stab from one golem. Then I grabbed its hand and threw it to the other one. As both golems collided and fell to the ground I took my time to cut off their head with Derf.
'So my opponent was not forced to follow the turn system of the duel, huh?... I guess that's fair enough for them' I thought as I now noted that my opponent can still do anything while I think on my turn.
"What's wrong, King? I don't see any might you bragged about yesterday" I heard Lamark taunted me as I got up after the two golems disintegrated.
"Tch…. Tch…. Tch…." I flailed my finger at him again. "Don't be impatient, knight. I just want to entertain the crowds a bit longer by letting you have the upper hand" I countered his taunt and surprisingly this time he was not lured in, I guess he already have clearer head for now.
"Hah, you sure about that? all I see was a commoner cornered with no options to win against a noble"
I ignored his taunt as I take the time to look at the cards in my hand again. I grinned as I saw the cards.
"If you're that impatient, then I shall be a bit more serious in this fight" I taunted him again as I stabbed Derf to the ground again, then I taunted him with 'come on' motion. "Come at me bro"
He took the bait as he summoned another two golems, both with great sword and standing by his sides.
"Two golems, huh? then I shall entertain you with an equal number! I summon Blizzard Dragon!" I declared as the silver-colored dragon came out of a portal and landed by me. "And I activate Ultimate Offering to summon another one!"
(LP: 3400 2900)
As the second Blizzard Dragon landed beside me, Lamark took the chance to command his golems to attack. Both golems flew at me, as the same time I drew Derf out of the ground. "Go! Blizzard Dragons! Freeze them with your monster effect!"
Both dragon flew at the golems and shot them with beams of freezing air. As the beam stopped, both golems stood there, frozen. And the dragons were flying before them, as if watching over them. I took this chance to move forward and pressing my attack to the knight.
Lamark was shocked, his golems were frozen solid by the two dragons. Gritting his teeth, he then prepared to summon another golem and started chanting. I managed to see this and quickly reaching to my back to draw my knife and throw it at him, unexpectedly my aim was perfect and the knife flew straight at him, distracting him from his chant and forcing him to block it with his sword-wand.
I took the opening and jumped at him to deliver a downward slash at him, which he easily dodge by stepping back a bit. I quickly stood up and stabbed to his head, which he dodge again to the side. I continued to press on the attack with stabs, preventing him from summoning another golem.
"Hora hora hora! Hoooora! Hora hora hora hora hora hora"
I shouted as I keep stabbing at him, and pushing him back continuously until he reached a wall and cornered.
"HORAA!"
I shouted again as I stabbed as hard as I can. He barely manage to dodge it to the side, causing Derf to be stuck on the wall, giving him enough time to strike me back with a downward slash to my hand, which I managed to avoid b releasing my grip on Derf and moved my hand to my sides, causing him to slash air.
I kicked him right in the chest and started to try pulling Derf out of the wall. He recovered again and attack me with a wide slash to the head that I avoid by getting down while still trying to pull Derf. He attacked again, now with flurry of stabs like I did to him earlier. Forcing me to continuously trying to dodge while trying to pull Derf out of the wall, which somehow would looked like a fight in Jackie Chan's movie.
The knight pulled back his sword and continued with a low slash aimed to my legs. I jump to avoid it, but ended up stepping on the sword. I continued with a kick to his face, which once again dodged by jumping back a few feet away. At that moment I finally managed to pull Derf out, and taking advantage of Lamark sword at my feet, I picked it up.
"Unarmed, are we? With your sword-wand out of your reach, you're just like a commoner now" I taunted him again as I slowly walking to him, swords spinning by my sides. As I got closer to him I ran and deliver slashes over slashes upon him. He dodged most of it and blocked a few with his gauntlet, mostly when I attacked with his sword.
After a few slashes, I slashed him at both sides. The knight moved in closer to me and blocked my hand right at the wrists, then he turned both my hand around and hit them with an upward palm strike, causing both sword to flew out of me and now switched to him. He slashed me in a cross motion, which I luckily dodged by rolling backwards.
"Whoops….."
"Despite all your bragging, I easily took over both weapons. Your grip was awful" He taunted my again as now he was the one who were pressing on the attack with me mainly trying to dodge each and every one of his slashes. A few seconds passed by with him attacking and me dodging, then, as he was thrusting with Derf, I dodged to the side and sent a straight punch right to his nose, as he was flinched from the punch, I kicked his hand, causing Derf to flew out of his hand, and kicked his stomach away.
Derf landed by my side and I picked him. As I watched my opponent rose, I glanced at the dragons and saw that the golems was almost fully unfrozen, signaling the end of his 'turn'. I drew a card and grinned as I looked at it.
"I've grown bored of this fight, so let's just end it. I discard one card from my hand to special summon The Tricky!" A slightly bigger portal appeared behind me as the warrior type monster emerged from it. The yellowish-white warrior with blue cape and a question mark on its face stood behind me, awaiting for my command.
"Smash that golem!" I declared as I pointed to one of Lamark golems. The Tricky flew and punched the golem into pieces before jumping back to my side. The Knight just watched in disbelieve as he saw his golem destroyed easily by The Tricky. His face contorted to anger and he summoned 5 more golems, and commanded it to attack me along with his previously frozen golem.
"No matter how many golems you summoned, your golem won't be able to defeat The Tricky! Give up, and I'll spare you from further embarrassment!" I threatened him as The Tricky stood before me and got into a fighting stance. It was no longer a fight between the golems and The Tricky, it was massacre, One by one, golems being summoned and destroyed, it went on for a while until Lamark stopped.
"Hooo…. Giving up now?" I asked smugly as I cross my arms around my chest.
"You wish" Lamark replied while catching his breath, it seems that summoning all that golem took a toll on his stamina. "I wouldn't expect that you would force me to use this. No one has faced this golem and lived to tell the tale"
I watched curiously as Lamark chanted his spell, part of me knew that I should be stopping him from completing the spell, but another part of me wanted to know what he meant by his words. Alas, it seems curiosity killed the cat.
"Arise… Heimdall!" Lamark shouted as he slashed the ground in front of him, and from it, rose a new golem. This golem was a few inches taller than The Tricky, it wore a full-plate silver armor with a helmet that looked like it belonged to Marvel's Loki albeit have smaller horn. "Destroy that thing!"
Heimdall moved swiftly to my direction and The Tricky intercepted it. Both of them wrestled each other for a few moments before The Tricky was destroyed, the wind of their fight pushed me back a bit as I felt my LP decreased again
( LP: 2900 - 2500 )
"Rrgh… this is not good….." I muttered as I look forward only to see that Heimdall had closing in on Blizzard Dragon to pummel it, and it did.
( LP: 2500 - 1900 )
"What's the matter now, King? It seems that the table have turned" Lamark taunted as he made his golem stopped and returned to his side. "I might spare you from further humiliation if you give up"
Growling for a bit, I drew another card from my duel disk. A little peek to the card, then a bit calculation of the damages from the two attack, I grinned widely as I found a way out.
"I guess play time is over, huh?" I said calmly as I got up and jammed a monster card on my duel disk. "I summon Battle Fader!"
"What!? Why did he summon Battle Fader just like that and not while he's attacked!" both Louise and Guiche shouted in disbelief. Then, Louise seems to have her eyes glued to Ultimate Offerings
"I see… so that's his plan"
"Then I activate Ultimate Offerings to have another normal summon!" He declared as his life point decreased by 500 again, then he removed Battle Fader's card. "I tribute Battle Fader to summon Strong Wind Dragon!"
A big portal appeared behind me, and the gigantic green dragon flew out. It roared loudly as it landed in front of me.
"Hmph, no matter what you summon, you will never defeat my Heimdall!" Lamark Declared as he commanded his golem to attack.
"It's useless! Strong Wind Dragon, obliterate that golem with Strong Hurricane!" I commanded my Dragon to counter. The green dragon responded by shooting out a stream of powerful hurricane from its mouth to the golem. I grinned as my dragon's attack connected with the golem, only to widen my eyes as a fist shot out of the smokes and punched Strong Wind Dragon.
Lamark smiled expecting Strong Wind Dragon to be destroyed, only to widen his eyes too when it retaliated with a hard punch to the golem's face and make it flew back to his side.
"Strong Wind Dragon, is not destroyed from a battle with monsters that has the same power as he has. And it seems your golem have the same ability" I explained to the shocked Lamark. 'I guess this is a stalemate until I found something to increase my dragon's attack'
We both fell silent as we try to find a way out of this. I have no more cards in my hands right now, and judging from his panting, I'd say Lamark was low on stamina or whatever it is required to do magic. The silence was broken when a rumbling noise followed by a scream was heard.
I turned my head to the source of the scream and found out that it was where the Princess' seat was located, and a gigantic earth golem towering over it with its hand cocked back. Thinking fast, I ordered Strong Wind Dragon to intercept it. "Strong Wind Dragon!"
The green dragon quickly flew to intercept the golem. It landed between the golem and the princess, and held on to the golem's punch. Strong Wind Dragon looked a bit struggling, signaling that the golem has more power than the dragon.
"Princess! Get out of there, Strong Wind Dragon can't hold on forever! Quickly!" I shouted as hard as I can to the princess and her guards. They seemed to heard it, and evacuated quickly, not long after they evacuated, the golem won the struggle and destroyed Strong Wind Dragon. I dropped to my knee as I felt further damage to my LP.
( LP: 1900 - 1400 )
"Louise!" I shouted to my master as I struggled to get back up, the petite pinkette noticed my call and replied me with a "what".
"Go back to your room and get my extra deck, I would need my ace monsters if I want to defeat that humongous golem!" Louise quickly nodded and ran away to grab my extra deck.
Lamark seemed to snap out of his shock by the attack at my shout to Louise. "You….. fought me without your ace monsters? And managed to push me this far…" He asked me in disbelief. His face seemed like he was just admitting his defeat.
"This is not the time to talk, knight. We have a princess to save"
"R..right. Can you still fight?" He replied as he offered his hand to help me up, which I took.
"Might not be that much help until Louise get my extra deck here, Let's hurry, the teachers and other knights had started fighting that thing"
We then proceed to fight the golem, with Lamark's Heimdall being the best retaliation we got up until now, while I only fought with a Marshmallon in defense position, which surprisingly managed to prevent the golem's attack to reach us. A few teachers and knights also helped us during the fight, even Tabitha and Kirche helped out too, while the other students and staffs ran away.
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
A sudden scream distracted me from the fight as I look to the direction where it's from, which was the way to Louise's room.
"It's the zero's voice!" Kirche shouted in panic causing me to become more on edge. I need to help Louise, but I can't leave this fight.
"Go" A soft voice of Tabitha broke me off my thoughts.
"We got this covered, go get your master" Lamark assured as he struggled to maintain his golem. With a nod at the two, I ran to my D-wheel and picked up Derf along the way, then, rode off to find Louise.
"Hang on Louise, I'm coming….."
