Chapter 4
Miranda escaped the Medical Bay without a problem. She followed the hallway until she reached the twist and turns that would take her to the console room. She stood in the entry way and watched the companions from this world interact. Captain Jack flirted with everyone, made innuendos that drove the dark skin bloke mad. Mad in a good way, they all got along well. Except blonde, she couldn't have had a more fake polite expression if she tried. Miranda's lip curled at the corner. Donna Noble had no plans of leaving the TARDIS.
Probably annoyed blonde to death, she thought. Miranda stop observing them instead looking at the wall across from her. Was Jenny really dead in this world? Her parents weren't together here, the Doctor of this world admitted to screwing up. She gently touched her side, it was bandaged up nicely and the pain didn't bother her. The teen couldn't wait to go home. Back to her TARDIS, see her mother and sister again.
She'd hug the generated anomaly...maybe pull on her blond hair as well. Oh, and her mother...she couldn't wait to hug her fiercely! Not that this Martha was a bad hugger, she just didn't have that maternal feel.
Pulling away from her thoughts, Miranda entered the console room. She sent everyone there a small smile before taking a look at the small screen. The Gallifreyan language was giving the real-time location of the TARDIS to Earth's original orbit location.
"What's it say space-girl?" The redhead woman called out, acknowledging her presence.
Miranda shrugged, she liked the redheaded woman. Maybe she could convince her dad to look the woman up when they got back. "You'll have Earth home in another hour or so. That's provided nothing goes wrong, like meteors, comets, planet gravitational fields, supernovas or black holes."
"Aren't you a ray of sunshine?" Donna remarked dryly.
Sarah Jane grinned herself, "Chances of us running into any of that right now?"
"Well," Miranda dragged the word out like the Doctor, Rose's hand twitched, "it's dad's ship...anything is possible really. I wouldn't worry about it though, the Old Girl likes Earth enough to keep it safe."
Sarah Jane raised an eyebrow, "So, do you stroke the console as well?" Rose couldn't help the smile that slipped on her face; she had bonded with the older woman over that.
"Not as often as dad," the teen replied. The olive skinned girl moved around the controls and to the Captain's seat. She sat down and looked at them. "So, for the new comers- Miranda Jones. The Doctor's daughter...not your Doctor...my world's Doctor. The one in the blue suit. If you haven't guessed who my mum is, she's the lovely Doctor Martha Jones." The teen had this proud look on her face. "Anything you want to know about me feel free to ask."
"I'm Mickey, Mickey Smith. You know Rose, right?" The dark skinned bloke introduced himself
Miranda nodded and replied, "Blonde, over there." Rose shot her a glare for the nickname. Mickey smirked a bit.
"The woman she's next to is Jackie Tyler. Her mum and mine really..." He trailed off before shrugging.

The blue suited Doctor stared Martha down. She was pouting, not on purpose- Martha Jones never pouted on purpose (unless it was leading to more *interesting* things)- unlike him. Ignoring his counterpart he placed a kiss on Martha's forehead. "Silly, silly love. Let me help, alright?" His tone never became patronizing.
"Doctor..." Martha mumbled, she hated the valid points he bought up. Even worse, he mentioned her fears so easily. Hell, she didn't even know how long until Jack left Earth. She couldn't fool herself into thinking he'd stick around forever and if she never told the Doctor, Jack was her escape plan. Except, it was going up in smoke slowly, the permanent death of Owen and the loss of Tosh. Only Gwen and Ianto were keeping the former Time Agent grounded.
How did he get this Martha to see him and not his counterpart? The name for a start, that should help right? "Call me Theta or Thet." The blue suited Doctor informed her softly. His grip on her shoulders loosened as he continued to look her in the eyes. "Martha?"
"Theta." She repeated softly, "Like in math."
He smiled at her. "It's a name I used back on Gallifrey." When her eyes widen, he knew she'd let him help. Martha loved learning things about him; he learned that in his world. The fact it was universal wasn't a surprise- Martha Jones loved learning. Besides, it was a sign that he trusted her.
"And I thought 'The Doctor' and 'The Master' were odd names." Martha informed him a small smile appearing, she felt vulnerable around this version of the Doctor. "How do you want to help then?" She asked quietly.
The Doctor behind them cleared his throat. He might have been just a bit jealous at the sight of this other version kissing his Martha. And it might have been a larger dose of jealousy when Martha uttered the name Theta. He was supposed to suggest it to her. He was supposed to explain its significances to her. (Once he got the courage to actually apologize to her of course. Or maybe after he kidna-ran off with her still aboard.)
Not his busybody counterpart.
"Well, why don't we start off examining your DNA?" He suggested. The blue suited Doctor knew he was annoying the other version of himself, "Oh a deep scan, using the TARDIS' main scanner in the console room."
Martha couldn't help, but smile at the Doctor's enthusiasm, "Better than the ones at UNIT." She informed him. The blue suited Doctor grinned widely.
"You realize..." The Doctor stated from behind them, "that this is my ship." The blue suited Doctor turned around and stared at himself. Martha's smile dropped a bit. She reminded herself that the man holding her wasn't her Doctor. And she was engaged, she did not get to go around losing herself to silly aliens. Martha Jones was much stronger than that.
The Doctor didn't have any intentions of keeping Martha from being scanned. He was curious about the change in her DNA. She wasn't a Time Lord by any means that required years of training. However, her second heart meant she wasn't entirely human either.
That perhaps her life span was no longer the blink of an eye.

The Doctor led Martha and the parallel version of himself into the console room. Everyone was happily chatting. Donna was hitting on Jack while Mickey teased the Captain. Sarah Jane and Jackie were exchanging stories about their boys. Miranda and Rose were eying each other as if they didn't know what to make of the other.
"Doctor!" Martha winced beside the blue–suited alien as the brown suited Doctor was hugged by the blond. Miranda watched her father roll his eyes.
"I don't quite think they heard her on Atraxaia." The blue-suited Doctor muttered to Martha. She slapped him on the arm shaking her head. "Ow! You do that here too."
Martha rolled her eyes, "Stop being rude." Martha and the parallel Doctor entered a staring contest. As they looked at each other, the Doctor ran a hand through his hair.
"If you think you're going to snog Martha Jones then do it already. Otherwise save the tension for when you get home." The Doctor snarked. He had no intention of allowing his doppelganger to kiss his former companion. Miranda giggled. Rose looked at the other Doctor and Martha curiously.
"Wait, wait…Martha is snogging people?" Jack asked, "I'm next Dr. Jones!"
Martha rolled her eyes, "I'm only snogging my fiancé. If any Time Lords get any bright ideas, I'll have to slap them silly."
The parallel Doctor pouted. "I wouldn't do that to you Martha. I wouldn't know how to explain to you, that I kissed you. Well, not quite you. The parallel version of you, I don't think, that will go over well."
"Of course it wouldn't you silly Martian!" Donna retorted on Martha's behalf. The doctor laughed quietly as she was reminded of amazing Donna was. "Honestly, I think the star dust has gone to his head."
