The rise of Vampires
Chapter Four
Rose Hathaway's point of view
The two women's faces were in shock once Edward introduced me to them. I was able to tell that the female that was calling for Edward was a human must have been Bella Swan, Edward's ex-girlfriend. She had long brown hair and brown eyes. She was on the skinny side to the point where she looked bulimic. She seemed very plain standing there in a brown plaid shirt and a pair of blue jeans? Didn't this girl know how to dress according to the weather? It was so hot out that I was about to take my shirt off. It was a good think that I was wearing my bikini top.
Bella was standing there glaring at me. I raised an eyebrow at her, unaffected by her glare. Esme, the woman who I could tell that was Edward's vampire mama, was beautiful. She had a heart shaped face with brown hair, and golden eyes. She looked like she was in shock. She had her hand covering her mouth. I don't think she was expecting me.
"Did I hear you correctly?" asked a guy walking towards us. He had platinum blond hair and bright gold eyes. Four other vampires walked over towards us. I could tell that they were family members of Edwards. They were all gorgeous, and all of them had golden eyes and looked like they came straight out of a fashion catalog. Surprisingly I wasn't feeling any jealousy towards them for being beautiful.
"You're dating another human," snarled out the blonde headed female. Her golden eyes turned black. I know that she was pissed off at her brother for thinking that I'm human.
I glared at her, "Who are you calling a human?"
She rolled her black eyes at me, "You, the one who is hanging off of Edward's arms." She turned her head to look at Edward, "I can't believe that you're going to risk the family again because of a human. What if the Voltaire find out?"
I stepped in front of Edward with a glare on my face. I didn't like that she was calling me a defenseless human like Bella. I narrowed my eyes at her. "Listen, Blondie, I'm not some weak human like Bella over there is. I can kick ass when I need to, and I'm not afraid to fight my own battles. Plus I'm not human."
The blond girl snorted and started walking towards me, but was pulled back by her husband. Edward gently grabbed my arm and pulled me right beside him. I turned my head and noticed a bunch of different horse sized wolves coming out of the tree line. My eyes widen before I looked over at Edward. He sighed before running his hand through his hair.
"The wolves are not happy that you're here Rose," said Edward. "They don't think you're a human, but they don't know what type of supernatural creature you are. They think that you're going to be a threat to their people."
I rolled my eyes at the large wolves. "Maybe I should tell everyone what I am, so they won't think that I'm a threat."
Edward smiled at me, "Are you sure you're going to be comfortable enough to tell them your past?"
"I won't tell them everything about me but I'm going to cover most of my story," I said to him.
We walked further into the clearing. On the one side, there were the Cullen's sitting down on the grass and the other hand the enormous wolves were laying down, but their bodies were so tensed like they would pounce at any minute. Edward and I were going to sit down in the middle of them, but I was on Edwards lap.
All of them were staring at me, so I know that I had everyone's attention on me. "Before I start telling you my history, I don't want to be interrupted at all, or I won't say any on my history to you. All questions that you want to ask me, I will answer at the end."
"Go ahead, Rose," said Edward as he was playing with my hair. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed that Bella was glaring at me from sitting in between Alice and Emmet. Edward told me the descriptions of his parents and his siblings.
I took a deep breath, "My name is Rose Hathaway, and I am a dhampir. A dhampir is a half human and half Moroi. Moroi are living vampires that can use any one of the five elements. Dhampir's protected the Moroi from the Strigoi. The Strigoi are dead vampires that tend to go after the Moroi and the dhampirs. To Strigoi a Moroi's blood makes them stronger, dhampir's blood towards them is water down a bit, but they prefer it to human blood. They will still kill humans if there is no Moroi or dhampirs around. The Moroi have twelve royal families and a queen."
"So your half human and half vampire?" asked Rosalie.
"Yes," I said.
"Where you changed," said Edward. "One of the wolves wanted to know."
"No," I said. "Moroi and dhampirs are born while Strigoi are made."
Lissa's point of view
We just arrived back home from our vacation last night, and it was too late to go into the office, so we just relaxed with the gang and watched some movies to pass the time. I didn't think that there was anything wrong, but I had this feeling that I was being watched.
"Lissa," whispered a voice right next to me. Christian was sleeping right next to me, and the guardians weren't even in the room. They left for the night knowing I was well protected since there were two guardians stationed right outside of my bedroom door.
"Lissa," the voice whispered again. I turned my head to the side. There was no one there. I felt the hair on the back of my head stand up. "Lissa, Lissa come to me, Lissa." I heard again.
I moved Christian's hand off of my stomach and got off of the couch. My bare feet touched the cold hardware floor, but I didn't care. I moved out of the living room and went into my office, where I heard the voice getting louder.
"Lissa, come to me, princess," whispered a different voice. One that sounded feminine but at the same time had an edge of darkness towards hidden within. The lights were all off inside of my office, but I was still able to see perfectly with my enhanced vampire vision. No one was in here. My desk was untouched, and nothing seemed moved. I moved closer to my desk, pulling out my leather chair, I opened the small drawer. Inside was a medium sized diamond necklace that Christian gave me eight weeks ago, claiming it has been in his family for generations.
I ran my fingertips over the chain of the necklace. I have been wearing during the day since Christian gave it to me. I didn't feel right not wearing it.
"Lissa," the voice whispered again. I felt a light breeze against the back of my neck. My body tensed and my breathing quickened. I was slightly afraid of looking behind me, but I felt like I was being compelled to do. I slowly turned my head to the side and noticed a blurry white figure standing right behind me. I let out a scream before my world turned black.
Rosalie Cullen's point of view
I was glad that my brother was back. It has been so long since I have last seen him. I was starting to get worried that he was never going to come back because of Bella. I noticed that he looked happier with Rose then when he was with Bella.
Rose Hathaway apparently wasn't a human like I thought she was. She was beautiful and exotic looking; like a foreign princess. She didn't even smell like a vampire, but then again we didn't even know that her kind even existed. She didn't even smell like food, which was a good thing since we wouldn't be tempted with Bella's and her blood.
Rose and Edward were talking to Carlisle, Esme, and Sam; who shifted behind the trees. They wanted to know more about her type of vampire. Rose, put her hands on her forehead and let out a scream before passing out.
