Chapter 4- Screeching stop
They froze staring at Eliza, her jaw dropped and her expression of happiness faded away. Silence. Everything was silent and still.
"I can-" Alexander began saying before Eliza held up a finger to silence him.
"No. You cannot explain." She stated in a wobbly voice, Alexander couldn't bare to look at her or John or even himself.
"Eliza wait!" Alexander yelled running to her from John's bedroom. "I don't expect you to forgive me… Ever, but, I love him. I know you find someone who loves you just as much."
"Oh Alexander," She said, tears in her eyes as she ran her hand across his face. "You'll never get it will you? If you love him, I am happy for you. The problem is you lied. Lies, lies, lies."
"I couldn't tell you, I didn't want you hurt." Alexander said crying by now.
"Well all of that is down the drain isn't it?"

Eliza stormed out of the house and got in her car. Alexander stood there, not doing anything. He didn't know what to do.
"Hey are you ok?" John asked in a sad voice. "I feel bad."
"It isn't your fault. I love you Laurens. I'll talk to Eliza, she'll move on." He said looking down at his shaking hands. It was Alexander's fault he should have broken up with her, he should have… "I-I need to…"
He walked outside, ran to Eliza's car and got inside the passenger seat.
"What are you doing?" Eliza asked looking at Alex like a crazy person.
"Eliza I am so sorry and I love you just as a friend. But I have to tell you I love John, he is amazing. I don't expect you to forgive me or even talk to me but I want you to know I am sorry." He said once again breaking into tears, he tried to say something but failed trying to muster up a sentence.
"I have to tell you something. I cheated on you when I was on my business trip. There was a guy and I was planning on meeting him until I met John. I am sorry. I messed up too. Can we just agree to put all this behind us and be friends." She said giving him a smile, Alexander looked up and smiled back at her.
"Why are you telling me in the car and not in John's house?" He asked raising an eyebrow looking at her with a confused look.
"Well I couldn't embarrass you in front of your boyfriend." She said giving him a playful nudge as she winked.
"Your right, I have to go back inside but soon I'll have to meet yours." He said slowly getting out of the car. He stood in the driveway as Eliza drove away.
"Are you ok?" John asked in his quiet beautiful voice, Alexander wiped the tears from his eyes and tried to memorize his voice.
"Yes." Alexander said pulling John in to kiss him.
"Everything will be fine if you're here."
