Author's Note: Wow, it's been a super long time since I wrote anything here on the site, so I decided to come back and revisit this one, mostly because I got to thinking of Hendrix due to a roleplay my friend and I are doing involving the good doctor. Anyway enjoy Chapter 4!

Rebecca hadn't expected to hear her giggle, but decided she would roll with it. "What is it, Tempe?' she asked.

Tempe clapped a hand over her mouth, suddenly afraid. He had told her never to talk to anyone about anything , or else very bad things would happen to her and Dr. Becca. She liked Dr. Becca very much since she was the only one she felt safe with there. He had told her he'd know if she made even one sound, and now that Dr. Becca heard her giggle, they were both dead for sure. Tempe crawled into a corner and tucked her knees up to her chest.
"Tempe, what's wrong?" Rebecca asked her, bending down. "What's happened?"

Tempe shook her head, desperately scared now.

"Tempe," Rebecca whispered, "don't be afraid. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. Can you tell me what's bothering you?"

Her voice came out broken and raspy since this was the first time she was using it in as long as she could remember. She said very slowly, "He... said... can't... tell."

Rebecca opened her arms, and Tempe ran into them without hesitating for a second.

"Tempe, it's okay. I'll take care of you, but I need to know more so I can."

"S-scared," she whispered.

"I know, Honey, but I won't let him hurt you," Rebecca replied.

"He... said... can't... tell. You... get... hurt."

Rebecca shook her head. "No, I won't. He was only trying to frighten you."

"You... not... safe."

"I am. The man can't hurt me."

"R-really?"

"Yeah. You can tell me."

"But... he... said..."

"I know, but I promise you I'm safe."

After a long moment, Tempe said, "Okay... I'll... talk."

"I'm listening," Rebecca said.
