"Will Evie and Ryan please come to the arena!" the loudspeaker blared. Evie, was sitting by herself reading a magazine from a table. "That's me! I can't wait to show them my cuties!" Evie cheerfully said as she put the magazine down, got up from the seat, and walked into the arena.
Evie walked into the arena to see the young boy smiling. "I am strong. I am." Ryan said to himself as he pulled his hood off him. "Hello, you are Evie. I am Ryan. Since you are my opponent, I will do my best to win." Ryan said as he got his first Pokeball ready.
"Nice to meet you Ryan! I hope your Pokemon love you as much as they do to me." Evie gleefully. "It's hard to believe you are an Ace Trainer with that attitude. Let's get this battle over with. Do your best!" Ryan shouted as Backpacker Sarah signalled the battle to begin.
"Flareon! Do your best!" Evie cheered as she sent out Flareon. "Go! Lucario!" Ryan shouted as he sent the fighter out. Ryan looked at Lucario and winked, Lucario nodded and began to start a Stone Edge attack, but was interupted by Flareon using Flame Blitz and Lucario fell over from the charging attack and lost over half of it's health. Flareon also lost a little bit of health due to recoil.
"Why didn't you tell your Pokemon to dodge or something!? It's important to protect your Pokemon!" Evie asked confusingly, "Lucario can take a hit. You shouldn't protect others! Lucario! Attack again!" Ryan kept smiling as he yelled. Lucario nodded and rose more stones up and hurled them at Flareon. "Flaaaaaa!" Flareon cried as the stones scraped and cut it, taking out all of Flareon's health.
"Oh no! Flareon, return! Go! Vaporeon!" Evie shouted as she sent out the water type. "Lucario, use Thunderpunch!" Ryan commanded. "Stop Lucario with Quick Attack!" Evie shouted as Vaporeon dissapeared and struck Lucario from behind. Lucario lost the last of it's health as it fainted and fell to the ground.
Ryan continued to smile as he called Lucario back. "Why does he keep smiling? Something's obviously wrong with him!" Evie thought. "Go! Musharna!" Ryan yelled as he threw out a Pokeball containing the Psychic type.
"Vaporeon! Use Hydro Pump!" Evie shouted. Vaporeon opened it's mouth and let out bursts of water onto Musharna. Ryan nodded and winked at Musharna while continuing to smile.
Musharna used Psybeam and let out a beam of a pinkish rainbow upon Vaporeon. The attack was critical and Vaporeon fainted immediately. "Vaporeon! No! Return!" Evie cried as she returned Vaporeon to it's Great Ball.
"Go get 'em Jolteon!" Evie threw another Great Ball releasing her final Pokemon. "Use Thunder!" Evie commanded as a huge stormcloud appeared above Musharna. Musharna easily floated out of the way and avoided the attack.
"Musharna, finish it with Psychic." Ryan smiled again as Musharna closed it's eyes and enveloped Jolteon in a pink matter. The attack was critical due to Musharna's scope lens and Jolteon fainted.
"Jolteon! No! I'm sorry! I-I can't believe it! I'm so sorry guys." Evie cried as she ran up to Jolteon, kneeled down and hugged it. "Jollllll..." Jolteon whimpered in pain as Evie continued to hug it.
Ryan called back Musharna and continued to smile. "If what you say is true... that we should protect others, why didn't you protect me!" Ryan shouted happily. Evie just continued to cry as brown fur grew all over her. Her ears moved to the top of her head and pointed upwards.
A brown tail popped out from behind her and cream colored tufts of fur grew around her neck. Evies hands and feet turned into paws and her size shrank drastically until she looked no different from a regular Eevee.
Ryan just watched and smiled as he released Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon into the wild. "An Eevee would be great for the Pokedex!" Ryan smiled as he took out a Quick Ball. He threw it at the crying Evie and captured her. "Don't worry. I'll protect you." Ryan said with a smile as he left the arena.
