A/N: Wow... I really apologize for the lateness. Summer was busy and so is school now, having personal issues and all that crap on top of it all. I really hope this chapter is good, I haven't written AkuRoku in a while and my writing style has changed a bit since I last wrote. Enjoy, and I promise to be more active! ^_^
Chapter 4
Roxas scanned the room for any sign of the tall redhead. Nothing. He cursed under his breath, assuming Xion did or said something to him. What's her problem? Roxas thought. Axel didn't do anything wrong. How come everyone dislikes him so much? The short boy made his way towards his desk, throwing his black and white bag across his chair and taking out his notes for the specific class. A taller teen with short, steel-blue hair and aqua eyes sauntered towards him. Roxas knew him as Zexion Anderson, one of Xion's friends. He stood in front of his desk, looking down at the blonde with a mixed expression. Roxas narrowed his eyebrows. "What?" He asked accusingly. Zexion simply turned and snorted, walking over to his own desk and sitting down. Roxas blinked, utterly confused. What is up with these people!?
Time seemed to pass slower than ever. Roxas guessed it was due to the fact that he had no one to entertain him. The blonde searched the halls for Axel, hoping he would have just came in late. Nothing. He sighed heavily, and reluctantly went to his next class.

Lunch time swung around the corner. Roxas decided to eat his lunch outside today. He didn't feel like conversing with Xion's group and wanted a little fresh air. He got his bag and started to walk towards the door, but a cold hand stopped him. He whipped around, hoping to see a pair of bright green eyes; Instead they were blue, cold, and icy. Roxas frowned, realizing it was Xion. He went to turn away again, but she didn't allow him. "Hey, listen," She started. Roxas shouldered her hand off and went through the door, shutting it abruptly behind him. He took a seat as far from the lunch room windows as possible and began picking through his salad. Only seconds after did he hear the door to the cafeteria creak open. Roxas gritted his teeth with annoyance, shifting his eyes to see the black haired girl pacing towards him. When she got close enough, Roxas looked back down at his salad. "What do you want?" He asked, his eyes not leaving their place. The girl took a seat in front of him, panting a little due to her quick walking. "I wanted to apologize for this morning. You seemed pretty p.o.'d." She said. Roxas stared at her, anger pulsing throughout him. "Why wouldn't I be pissed off? You were being a bitch to my friend." Xion simply rolled her eyes at his response. "Oh come on Roxas, he can't really be your friend. He's such a loser!" The raven haired girl exclaimed, chuckling a bit. It almost sounded forced, but Roxas couldn't be sure. "Oh yeah, well if he's such a loser, why were you friends with him?" The blonde retorted. Xion went silent. After a few seconds she quickly shook her head, getting rid of whatever thought had been in her head. "That was in the past. I thought he was cool but he wasn't. We're not friends anymore, end of story." Xion exclaimed. She pushed her seat back and got up, walking back towards the cafeteria. Roxas assumed he had struck a nerve of some sort, and to be honest, he was quite pleased with her reaction. He continued to eat his lunch in peace.

School was eventually dismissed. The class piled out into the halls, rushing out the doors to get to their buses and cars. Roxas made his way quickly throughout the crowd. He was thin and small so it was easier for him to weave through the tons of students. He opted to take the long way home today, not really wanting to face the others on the bus. It was a crisp, cool afternoon, which Roxas was thankful for. He traipsed slowly along the sidewalk, not being in a hurry of any sorts. He liked the outdoors, it soothed him, and provided lots of time for thinking. But this time, Roxas had no thoughts. He simply walked, face forward, throughout the neighborhood, occasionally brushing a leaf off his shoulder or pausing to greet a neighbor. The blonde turned the corner that led down his street. He glanced to his side for a moment, and saw a familiar redhead sitting out on his porch. Without thinking, Roxas rushed over, delighted to see him. The teen looked up, a bit surprised. "Roxas? What are you doing here?" Axel asked as the shorter boy came into earshot. "I live right over there, dummy." Roxas exclaimed, pointing in the direction of his house. Axel blinked. "Oh.." Apparently the fact had never registered in his mind. The blonde just rolled his eyes, taking a seat next to him on the bench he was seated on. "So why didn't you come to school today?" He asked. Axel sighed in return. "I just didn't feel like it, I guess." He answered, his eyes locked on the floor. Roxas didn't believe him, but decided not to pester him any further about it. "I talked to Xion today," He said, changing the subject a bit. He knew it wouldn't get him anywhere, but he decided to give it a shot.
"I assumed she'd talk to you after that," The boy turned to face him, a bit of worry resonating in his emerald eyes. "What did she say?" Roxas shrugged. "Nothing really, she just continued to blabber on about how she hates you and stuff. She's stupid." The blonde added. Axel looked as if he was about to say something, when the door behind him swung open. A tall man with bright red hair tied back in a long ponytail peeked out from inside. "Whatcha doin'?" Roxas recognized the man from his bus, he was a senior and was pretty laid back. He guessed he was Axel's brother. Axel jumped a bit at the sudden sound of the door, whipping around and glaring at the red haired man. "Reno, you dick. You freaked me out. I didn't even know you were home." Reno simply chuckled. "Yeah, I'm pretty sneaky when I wanna be," He turned his attention to Roxas. "So, is this your little friend?" He asked, giving a friendly smile. Axel rolled his eyes. "Yeah, now could you get out? We were talking." Roxas shook his head, "No, it's fine. You're not interrupting anything." The blonde exclaimed. Part of him was thankful for Reno's interruption. He didn't want Axel feeling bad about this again, and kind of just didn't feel like discussing the matter. Reno waved his hand, "Oh now I don' wanna intrude. I just wanted to see if Ax was okay," He explained, glancing down at his younger brother for a few seconds. Axel nodded, seeming a bit frustrated by his brother's presence. "Yeah, I'm fine." Reno stuck his tongue out and went back inside the house, shutting the door. The redhead sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Sorry, he's annoying." He apologized. Roxas sensed the boy seemed a bit stressed and on edge. He pondered the idea for a bit, but shook it off. Probably still stressed from Xion, he thought to himself. Roxas pulled out his phone, checking the time. "Woah, 4:30 already?" The blonde said. He looked up to find a pair of emerald eyes gazing at him. Axel immediately switched his eyes on something else, trying to make it seem as if he wasn't staring. Roxas didn't think much of it. "Yeah, you should get going." He said. Roxas bit his lip, not really feeling ready to leave. "I'll message you," The blonde managed to say. He swung his bag over his shoulder and waved his goodbye, hurrying across the road and walking to his own house.
A/N: Woo! Finally another chapter finished. I'm happy with this. I hope my writing style has not changed drastically. I tried to keep it as close to my old one as I could. Reviews are nice :3
