Ebony's Pov,

My eyes jolted open to the sound of a thunderous crash, as I nudged my body forward before realising that I was already sitting up ward. Everything was black, the only light I could see was the one shining directly onto me, I couldn't see anyone or anything it was as if someone were shining a light directly into my eyes. Suddenly I could hear the sound of footsteps rushing toward me at every corner, I braced myself for attack but nothing came. I screamed out "hello? Who's there?" there was no response. I could feel anxiety build up in my chest, something in my brain told me that I shouldn't have said anything, I stood up still in fighting position. Despite there being no verbal response I heard footsteps. Heavy footsteps… No two sets of them. I heard a clicking noise then suddenly the room was lit. A chandelier hung from the ceiling above me with seemingly thousands of candles burning on the old copper frame. I looked around only to be shocked by what I saw. A body lying on the floor, in a dark, thick pool of blood. It was a the body of a man, a small man perhaps a child. He had long blonde hair and a… Mechanical arm, ED! "ED!? ED ARE YOU OKAY?!" I screamed.

No response, "Ed Please dear god say something,"

"He won't." A voice sounded from behind me. My head whipped around and I was even more surprised by what I saw.

"Lexi… Lexi what happened." I said my voice wavering a little. Lexi didn't speak she smiled. She smiled a cruel sinister smile. It was her. She Did It. LEXI KILLED EDWARD. "How could you,"

"What Do you mean I didn't lay a finger on him, the Colonel did,"

"ROY DID IT?!" Lexi nodded her head slowly, almost mockingly,

"Under my orders of course but see, he had a little help." Lexi sighed and rolled her eyes, "Envy would you get your ass outta that blood." She said, I froze.

Envy, one of the homunculi that I had lived with for years. That had raised me. I looked over to where Ed was lying dead on the floor. He moved. He stood his blonde head flopped to one side then snapping back into place. He turned around slowly, all the while he changed, slowly forming into the green haired palm tree that nobody likes. I heard the clicking of high heels on the floor as Lexi made her way over to him, Allowing his arm to snake around her waist possessively. He nuzzled his face into her neck. 'But she hates that' I thought. "Go get the blonde Brat would you?" She spoke, Envy moved with an evil sneare on his face.

Once Envy was gone I spoke.

"Lexi, Are you sleeping with him?" I asked, full of concern for my friend. She laughed,

"Why wouldn't I sleep with someone so perfect? I'm not stupid enough to throw away something so beautiful." she said as Envy and two others entered the room. A small blonde figure was fighting, struggling against the others, but they overpowered him. Both in size and numbers.

"Would You like to do the honours?" Envy asked the other man. The second man looked up… ROY…

"It would be my pleasure." Roy said.

"Wait," Lexi cut in, She knelt down to the ground, closing her eyes electric blue sparks flew through the floor forming a chair and binding me to it. 'Well Great, just great,' E said in the back of my mind.

"NO let me out, Don't do this, DON'T FUCKIN' KILL ED YOU BITCH!" E cut in halfway through the sentence.

"Ooo, feisty now," Envy said mockingly. Lexi came up behind me and duct taped my mouth shut. The only sound I could produce was muffled screams.

Roy placed his foot on Ed's shoulder pulling his automail arm off, Ed Released a piercing scream of pain. Tears streamed down both of our faces. I fought against my restraints but to no avail. Roy and Envy looked at eachother pleased with their work. Envy and Lexi then backed away from Roy fully aware of what was gonna happen next. Roy clicked his fingers and fire was spat towards Edward.

The next thing I knew a cold metal object was held against my head. A gun.

"Any last words?" Roy asked blowing warm air into my ear. "Guess not."

"Ebony get the hell up," Lexi said bouncing on the mattress excitedly, I bolted upward to the sound of Lexis voice, I looked around and to my surprise, everything was back to the way it was. My heart started to race as I began to calm the raging anxiety building up in my chest, Lexi stared back at me in shock "Woah, what the hell just happened?" my stare became more intense, all I could see was the monster that killed Ed even though I was well aware that it was just a dream. "it's umm… nothing don't worry about it" I said avoiding eye contact with anyone. The door swung open as Lars made an entrance,

"Okay guys I got a bunch of food ready for y'all down the-" Lars stopped in his tracks when he looked down and noticed that I was frozen in a state of shock "Wait what did I miss?" he said in confusion, Lexi turned to face me again.

"Come on Ebony, you can talk to us" I sighed,

"It's was nothing, just a bad dream" Lexi and Lars both looked up at each other in confusion. Lexi stood up in front of me holding my hands,

"well maybe you'd like to tell us this over breakfast?" I chuckled, she began to lift me up as we wobbled tiredly behind Lars.

We circled around the kitchen table as we began to eat food and emerge in casual conversation. After chuckling at another ridiculously bad joke made by lars, Lexi turned as she held a bag full of food and said: "So what was that crazy dream you had about anyway?"

"Okay No, that is so not the important thing here. What the hell are you gonna tell Hamish about what happened last night?" Hamish was Lexi's Boyfriend of quite a long time since she was about 15. That happened once they started running into each other at parties and clubs, from there the constant hookups just stuck I guess.

"Um well… I wasn't planning to," Lars and I looked at her wide-eyed, "What?! It's not like it's ever gonna happen again." Lars and I shared a glance before looking back over to our friend. "What? You think it will?" Lars nodded and I followed suit.

Disassociating… E takes over.

"Lexi honestly, we both know that you like him. That is fuckin' obvious, Listen, girl." I said leaning towards Lexi as she and Lars both began to have a weary look about them, "Hamish is not good for you, I say, kick him to the curb and go after ed, and that is my professional opinion." Lexi looked at the floor at my comment about Hamish. Lars turned to her,

"Lexi? What is it?" Lars asked. The brunette's head snapped up as her purple eyes frantically flicked between Lars and I's matching blue ones.

"What? Nothing," Lars shook his head.

"Lexi I'm not stupid I've known you a very long time. We've told each other everything you really think I can't tell when you're Lying," Lars stated. Lexi's eyes flicked up to the clock looking for an escape route.

"Oh, crap is that the time. I need to get ready for dance." She Lied rushing to Lars' room.

"Fine but this discussion is not over!" Lars yelled after her.

Edward's Pov,

I stared up at the clock waiting for my lunch break. I sat in the Colonel's office completely ignoring the world around me. All I wanted was for my lunch break to come, the gap between Lexi's dance classes coincides perfectly with then. Usually, she has an hour so she runs up the hill and eats with me, and by that I mean steals my food. As the clock hits 12:25 there is a knock at the door. I immediately sit straight up in my chair, hoping that it is Lexi on the other side of the door. The colonel says, "Enter," and the door creaks open slowly. It is …. Hughes. God fucking damnit. I just wanted to see Lexi. I sink back into my chair and a pout forms on my face. I pulled out my phone and being the stalker I am checked her location on snapchat, She's here, what? My phone vibrated in my hands as Hughes gushed over his daughter to the colonel. I dropped it onto the floor in shock as Lexi's ringtone began to play.

"Ohh NOO," I lunged towards it as Roy plunged from his desk beating me to it. The lyrics to her custom ringtone rang out as I chased Roy around the space after my phone so they couldn't hear it.

"Some believe in love at first sight," It sang as Roy and Hughes listened intently, holding it up in the air so I couldn't reach. CURSE THESE FREAKISHLY TALL PEOPLE,

"But This is just lust on the first night," Roy and Hughes laughed hysterically at me whilst I reached desperately for the cursed piece of technology Lexi forced me to buy.

"If it turns into more then that's all right,"

"But Right now I don't want your kiss, I want your bite," Roy and Hughes stopped there laughing and stood in shock.

"Wanna feel your teeth on my neck," I jumped up pushing myself off Roys desk grabbing the phone and answering it before my situation got any worse,

"Hey," I said panting quietly to myself,

"Hey, what took you so long?" Lexi asked,

"Not important, where are you?" I asked growing anxious,

"LEXI YOU SHOULD HEAR WHAT HIS RINGTONE IS FOR YOU!" Roy yelled,

"SHUT UP ROY!" I yelled back trying desperately not to embarrass myself in front of Lexi,

"Ouch Right in my ear Ed," Lexi said on the other end of the line,

"Sorry," I apologized, "Now where are you?"

"I ah, took a wrong turn at Hughes' Office." She said,

"Alright I'll come to you hold on," I hear Roy chuckle as I hung up my phone. "What," I said, whipping my head around to face him.

"Nothing," Roy said, red-faced and teary-eyed from laughing.

I thought nothing of it and jogged off down the hall.

She has the prettiest laugh. I thought silently to myself as I smiled at the brunette across from me.

"What?" Lexi asked looking up from her food.

"Nothing," I said, holding my expression, dropping my head to look at my food.

"Okay," she said, continuing her meal. We remained in silence for a few moments before something in Lexi seemed to click. "So, Last night," She began.

"What about it, E trying to kill you of the other bit?" I smirked and glanced up at her.

"Why would I feel the need to talk about E?"

"Cause that's the third time she's done that," I said holding my strong gaze.

"And?"

"Do you not think that perhaps you should be worried?" I questioned,

"No, I know enough about D.I.D to know that E is there to protect Ebony, that's the sole reason she exists. E despite however much she threatens it would never actually harm us because she herself is sociopathic, not psychopathic meaning she would feel remorse, empathy and responsibility for the originals pain which she exists to take away." Lexi began, "Furthermore as it stands Lars and I pose no immediate threat to the original or E as her alter so she won't act upon any of her threats."I nodded along with what she was staying, understanding her train of thought.

"But what you were asking about… Last night."

"Right, Ed…" Lexi began looking down at her now empty plate, "I have a boyfriend,"

"He doesn't deserve you," I muttered,

"It doesn't matter Ed,"

"It does matter, What he's done to you is not okay and I swear to god I will end him if her even so much as thinks-"

"ED! Stop it." Lexi demanded. "It is not your place to tell me what is and isn't okay for my boyfriend to do to me, got it," We sat in silence after that before Lexi spoke again, "Oh, I've been meaning to ask," I looked up at her in surprise, my eyebrows slightly raised in curiosity.

"Shoot,"

"When does our training start."

"Formally?" She nodded in response,

"Tomorrow,"
