A/N: First off, I'm very sorry for the slow update. I had been on vacation for a week and didn't bring my computer. I had wanted to get this chapter up before I left but, as you can see that didn't work out to well. So, I finished this up this weekend and finally got it up! I've already started the next chapter so, that should be up this week.

This chapter is shorter than the others because well, I wanted it to end where it ended and it just made it short. The next chapter should be longer and you get to see all of their old high school friends again. Yay!

Enjoy!

Link and Zelda's Apartment

Living Room

11:47 PM

Link and Zelda were sitting on the couch watching a rerun of Saturday Night Live. It was the episode where Natalie Portman hosted and Fall Out Boy was the musical guest. Link had his arm around Zelda while Zelda's head was on his shoulder.

"Link? Can I ask you something?" Zelda said as she raised her head to look at Link.

"You just did." Link said as he smirked at her. Zelda hit him playfully.

"Not that. A different question."

"If you want." Link shrugged. Zelda looked away for a moment, pondering how she would word her question.

"Link, what are we?"

"What?"

"Like, me and you. Are we just friends, or? I mean I'd be okay if we were just friends but, it doesn't seem like that they way that we've been acting these past couple of weeks. I don't know if we're together or just friends with benefits or?" Zelda looked up at him with a face that was a mixture of confused and hopeful. Like she was hoping for Link to say a specific answer. Link laughed.

"I thought we were together." Link said as he smiled at her.

"You did?" Zelda said.

"Well, yeah. The way we've been acting, you know with the kissing and the hugging and the holding hands, I just figured that we were, considering we acted so much like a couple. But, if you don't want to be I understand." Link said as he looked back at the TV as the audience laughed.

"Link," Zelda started as she turned his head towards her. "I would love to have you as a boyfriend." Link smiled and kissed her.

"We should get to bed now, it's getting pretty late." Link said. Zelda nodded. They got up, Link turned the TV off while Zelda turned the lights off, and walked down the hallway. Link went to go into his room, while Zelda went into hers.

Link and Zelda's Apartment

Bedroom

11:50 PM

It had been about since Link and Zelda had officially became a couple. They told all there friends and family, who in turn didn't find it all that surprising. They had decided that they would share a bedroom, the other bedroom could have been used as a study or something or other. They needed the space and thought that they were dating and new each other for so long that it would have been okay for them to sleep in the same room together.

It was now a Tuesday night, almost Wednesday, and the couple were now dead asleep in their shared bed. Their backs were facing each other after moving around some during the slumber. Zelda slept on the side of the bed that faced the entrance to the bathroom and entrance to the hallway, while Link slept on the side facing the window.

It was all quiet and calm until-bring-the phone had gone off. Bring. Link's eyes had snapped open as Zelda moaned awake. Link grabbed the phone and answered.

"Hello? Uh huh-yeah-yeah-okay. I'm on my way." He hung up the phone, Zelda turned towards him.

"Who was that?" She asked as Link walked over to the dresser.

"Chief Gretzky. There was a shooting downtown, they want me to go." Zelda sat up as Link pulled on his police pants.

"Link, it's almost midnight."

"I know."

"Can't they get someone else?"

"Probably but, Gretzky wants me there so, I'm going."

"This could be dangerous."

"I know."

"I don't want you to go."

"Zelda, I'll be fine. I've done these kind of things before."

"You've done robberies, pulled people over, and drug busts, nothing as serious as this." Zelda said in a serious tone. Link had just pulled on his police shirt over his white tank top as he turned around to Zelda in the dimly lit room.

"Dangerous is apart of the job. I'm a police officer, this is expected. I'm telling you, I'll be fine. So just don't worry."

"Don't worry? Link, what if something happens and you get hurt?"

"Zelda, I'll be okay." Link said as he pulled on his jacket. He walked to the bed and leaned down towards Zelda and kissed her. "Trust me." Zelda reached her hands up behind his head and kissed him again.

"Go, they need you." Link smiled and kissed her on the cheek. He left and Zelda could hear the front door shut. She turned on the small TV that was in their room and flipped the channels until she came to the news. She hugged her legs to her chest and watched as they covered some politic story.

South East Main Street, Castle Town

Link's Police Cruiser

12:12 PM

Link was driving down to West Main Street. He had his radio on that was calling to some other officers to get down to the shooting. It wasn't the biggest shooting but, not the smallest either. A 24-hour convenience store was being held up and there were some people in there so, it was dangerous.

When Link had gotten to the store, there were a few other police cars there and a good amount of officers. Link put on his hat and walked into the cold autumn night.

"Chief." He called as he walked up to Chief Gretzky.

"Officer Avalon, good you could make it."

"What's the row down sir?"

"Some guy was trying to rob the place but, the cashier had fought back and now he's holding the place up. We did a count and there's about five other people in there with the two."

"It's just one guy?"

"As far as we know."

West Main Street, Castle Town

12:48 PM

It was almost 1 o'clock in the morning and the police officers were pointing there guns at the door to the convenience store. The man who was holding up the store was going to come out and the police officers wanted to be ready for anything.

The man, who was wearing a ski mask, was slowly walking out of the door. When he shut it behind him, one of the officers, Pipit, had said threw a megaphone-

"Drop your weapons and put your hands in the air." The man had looked up and looked around at the handful of cops with their weapons all pointed at him. He raised his gun and shot it. A couple of the police officers had fired while the others ran towards the man. There was a thud as Pipit watched one of the police officers fall.

The police officers that chased after the man had tackled him and handcuffed him. They said his rights to him and dragged him back over to one of the police cars. Pipit had run over towards the fallen officer. The officer had gotten shot in the upper arm right around the shoulder area. Pipit turned towards the other officers that were watching him, Chief Gretzky was with another officer talking to the robber. The officer that had been shot was bleeding profoundly, he moaned on the ground. Pipit had screamed to the other cops.

"Someone call an ambulance and someone call Zelda! Link's been shot!"
