Episode 4: Two Saiyans from the Future

The man stared grumpily down at Hoshi. And Hoshi looked nervously up at him. This guy was scary... He decided that a shot was better than being around him and he started to run back, only the man had quickly grabbed him by the back of his shirt an holding him straight out as if he were a piece of dirty laundry he didn't want to touch. He walked into the room Hoshi had run from and announced, "What is this? And what is it doing in my house?"

"Your house!" Bulma snapped rather annoyed. "And Vegeta put him down!"

Vegeta let Hoshi fall to the floor, and he ran over to his sister looking frightened. She however looked completely calm. Tsuki didn't scare easily, at least no as easily as he did.

"What are you doing?" Trunks asked walking over to his mother and peering at the computer screen.

"Well, we're trying to figure out where these kids live. I can't find their city name, I can't find them by their fingerprints, so now I'm scanning the entire database to see who they're related to."

Meanwhile the kids were getting distracted by all the lights and buttons in the room. They ran from one thing to the next examining it. Even sometimes daring to hit a button. One button they hit opened a compartment where a freshly cooked Muffin rose out of it. ** They both choose to split it.

"Okay, finally some results," Bulma said happily as the computer screen started beeping and suddenly Gohan's face appeared.

Gohan stared at it bewildered too.

"Gohan, is there something you're not telling us?" she asked eyeing him questionably.

"Wha? No!" he answered rather quickly.

But then, Vegeta's face appeared. Then Goku's. Then Bulma's. Then Chichi's. Then Trunk's (baby photo). Bulma's sister, her parents, others related to Bulma.

"I think your computer is broken," Goku said staring at the screen. "This shows everyone they have a genetic link to right..."

"Yes, and my computer is not broken... Maybe it mixed up a blood sample... Or..." she paused thinking hard. "Children come over here for a moment."

Tsuki and Hoshi rushed over.

"Now I need to ask you a question and I need you to tell me the honest truth okay..." she said sternly.

"Sure," Tsuki and Hoshi said together.

"What year were you born?" she asked.

"We don't really know our birthdays," Tsuki admitted. "But the school gave us one. I was born Jan 1stof the year 899, and Hoshi was given the birthday of Jan 1st 900."

Everyone around them looked shocked, and they all exchanged glances that told them what they said was weird. "Is that bad?" Hoshi asked.

"No..." Bulma answered. "It's just that the year is 767."

"Well, we are in a story book. So it probably makes sense that the years are different..." Tsuki said frowning. She thought she had spoke low enough that no one would hear. But it seems Bulma did.

"Whoa, story book?" Bulma said frowning.

"Yeah, you're all characters in-" Tsuki suddenly covered her brother's mouth leading him away. "You can't just tell story book characters that they're in a story! It ruins the whole book!"

"Oh... What do we tell them then..." Hoshi asked frowning.

"It's possible... maybe they came with the time machine we found. Maybe they came with Cell?"

"But do we know what year cell came from?" Bulma asked frowning.

"Well, if their is one time machine, it would make sense that there are more right?" Gohan inputted. "Maybe they came using a different time machine."

"Kids, come back here," Bulma said. "Did you guys come here in a time machine?"

"No we came here after trying to play a video game!" Hoshi explained.

"Ugh, that makes even less sense..." Bulma sighed.

Though Hoshi never stopped talking. "Yeah, capsule corp took all their old junkie inventions, tore them down and made a whole video game entertainment center for kids! We sort of snuck in when they were closed but-"

"Wait!" Bulma said suddenly sitting up straight. "You mean capsule corp made a video game entertainment center using old parts of previous inventions..."

"That's what they said," Tsuki answered.

"You know what this means," Bulma said frowning. "Someone probably tore apart our time machine and used one of the pieces in a video game, which sent them here..."

"Should I send them home?" Trunks asked. He was leaning against one of the room's pillars with his arms folded.

"No, you don't even know if your time machine is functioning enough to get yourself home..." Bulma said frowning. "I'll make something to get them back. For now..."

"So you two are saiyans then right? I mean you must be if you're related to us..." Goku asked smiling.

"What's a saiyan?" they asked together. They had never heard that word before...

"You know... like... you guys," Goku said giving a pretty poor explanation, and as expected the children still looked confused.

"Saiyans, they're a race of fighters born with tails and they can go super saiyan, like me and Dad are now," Gohan said pointing to his hair.

"I don't know what super saiyan is, but my brother and I both have tails. We were born with them," Tuski smiled.

"Where are they?" Trunks asked noticing he couldn't see them.

"Oh, well... We would get teased a lot for them so we hide them in our pants," Hoshi explained. He reached behind himself and ripped a small hole in his pants so he could show them his tail. Vegeta did not look happy, and Tsuki did the same. No one seemed to shun at the sight of their tails which was new for them.

"So, if you're saiyans where are your tails?" Hoshi asked.

"Ours got removed a long time ago," Goku said, he looked very happy. "Man, how cool is this..."

"Goku, there is NOTHING cool about this!" Bulma sighed. "This is a major problem!"

"It's never a good idea to affect time..." Trunks said seriously.

Gohan grinned, "Well you're one to talk, all you've done since you got here is affect time..."

Trunks grinned back. "Well, yes... but this sort of thing can be troublesome. I mean I came with a plan. To warn you guys and affect the future as little as possible. Because my Mother decided some timelines should change. These kids came here out of no where. So they could affect time for the worse. Plus if they were meant to do something in their timelines, and they aren't there to do it..."

"We'll send them home as soon as I can put together a time machine. Trunks would you like to help? The cell games are still a few days away..."

"Sure," he answered.

Goku however didn't seem to care if they were from another time or not, and he didn't seem to care if their being here could have negative repercussions or not. What he was interested in...

"So, how powerful are you two? Do you know any good techniques?" Goku asked.

"Techniques?" Hoshi questioned. "I can make stars appear!"

"I can heal!" Tsuki said smiling.

"Stars?" Goku said. "Okay, show me."

Hoshi looked excited no one had ever wanted to see his star before. He held his palms close and concentrated really hard and suddenly a very tiny orb of light appeared. Looking thoroughly happy he held it out to Goku. "See?"

Vegeta made a disapproving grunt and left (probably to do some training). He clearly was not impressed.

Though Goku tried to look impressed. Still, Hoshi quickly realized that Goku wasn't overly interested in his little star. "Yeah, that's... that's really cool. Can you make it bigger though?"

"Bigger?" Hoshi answered frowning. Could he? He had never tried tried. He always thought his little star was enough...

"Yeah," Goku said sitting on the floor he crossed his legs and he too made a star just like Hoshi's but Goku's quickly grew into a large orb of light.

"Wha!" Hoshi gasped. "I've never tried that before..."

He looked down and tried to make his orb bigger too, and it grew, but was only about the size of a yen piece before it disappeared. "Oh... it's gone..." he frowned.

"Don't worry, I'll teach you how to control it," Goku said smiling.

"Goku!" Bulma snapped getting to her feet. This was a last straw for her. "Shouldn't you be training for cell yourself?"

"Nah, Gohan and I are relaxing until the games," Goku explained. "I told you. Everything will be fine. So, I can take some time out and teach the kids a thing or two..."

"Goku how can you be so calm! The Cell Games are days away and you're not even gonna take this last bit of time to train. What's wrong with you!" Bulma snapped.

"Ah... it'll be fine," Goku answered again in the same overly optimistic and cheerful manner. "Don't worry about it Bulma, I have everything under control."

Tsuki noticed his eyes drift over to Gohan for a split second, he was not too far away talking to Trunks.

"Gohan's not going to fight is he?" Tsuki asked Goku staring up at him looking a bit upset. She knew... she knew how the story plays out when Gohan fights...

Goku looked slightly nervous at her question but then smiled. "Well, we'll all be there as a precaution. He probably won't have to."

Goku walked over to Gohan then to tell him that they would be training the kids for the next few days until the Cell Games.

Tsuki's face fell into a frown, and Hoshi glanced at her from the side. "Tsuki what's wrong?"

"I hope he doesn't let Gohan fight... You remember our story book don't you?" she said turning to him looking worried. "Remember, in our story Gohan fights Cell... and..."

Hoshi thought about it. Oh yeah, that was the case.

"According to our story, Gohan was the only one who survived the Cell Games..." Hoshi said taking a deep breath. "Because he killed everyone..."

"But Goku said he shouldn't have to fight. Even if he does though... Remember what Trunks said. It's never a good idea to affect time. If this is how the story is meant to play out. Then... it's not our place to alter a story... Right?" Tsuki asked.

She started to look sad.

"But I don't want them to die," Tsuki said frowning looking on at everyone's happy and nervous faces as they all were thinking about what was to come.

Hoshi grabbed her hand. "Then... we won't let them! But Trunks also said. Some timelines should change! We can change the timeline of our story and be heros! Just like the heros in our book!"

Tsuki grinned. "Yeah!" she agreed.
