Chapter Three: Sadie, You Got This, Sorta...
Ok, Percy said hallway, and he meant it. Seven rooms, all double doors. The room at the end was the largest, with a balcony, so that became the bedroom. The two rooms closest to the bedroom became the closet and the bathroom. Next to the bathroom became the game room, and the one across the hall became Sadie's personal training gym. The two other rooms were changed into the library and the garden. I labelled each door and then got to work. The bedroom was first.
The first thing I "created" was the bed. It was a round mattress with a gossamer curtain surrounding it. The gossamer became a theme, and soon the room looked like it belonged to an Indian Princess. Lilies, and orchids bloomed in the corners, and the walls were soundproof, so there were some cleverly hidden speakers up by the ceiling. The chaises were scattered, one on the balcony, and two in the main room. The carpet was so soft and the whole room looked gorgeous. The floor to ceiling window/doors to the balcony let lots of light in. I love it, but I don't know where the light is coming from. All I could see was desert with a black sky. But a sun burned at the center, giving off heat and light.
The library was similar to the one I had practiced in in Brooklyn House. My bathroom had a waterfall in it, splashing into a pool, which also had a hot tub. Next to it was a shower the had voice activated controls and the bath has bubble jets. The tile floor was black, the walls gray, and lights reflected off of everything. The game room had several tellys with game chairs, and a pad for VR experience, something that I had always really wanted to try after seeing it on telly.
Walking back down to the main hallway I realized it was time to talk to Percy. I then realized I didn't know which staircase was his. Taking a guess, I climbed the greenish staircase. The room to the left was open, and when I peaked inside, I found an Olympic size pool. "Wow." The room itself was huge, and my statement echoed everywhere. I was about to leave when something broke the surface of the pool. Percy. My eyes must have been huge, and he smiled.
"Were you under there when I walked in?" He nodded, and said "I need to tell you a few things, so let me get dressed and I will meet you on the stairs outside in five minutes." With that he climbed out of the pool, and I couldn't help but stare. He wasn't wet. I closed my mouth, and walked out.
In five minutes, we were camped out on his stairs, with s'mores, talking about gods. And then he threw me off by saying "The Greek gods and the roman ones exist as well as your gods. I would know, I'm the son of one." I stared at him, pretty sure I had heard that incorrectly. "Don't believe me? Watch." He stood up, raised his hand palm up, and closed his eyes. I looked around and my mouth fell open. The water that was in the pool was floating out of his hallway, and down the stairs, forming sea animals as it went. As it reached the floor, it evaporated. My mouth hit the floor. Percy sat back down. "Now do you believe me?" "I might, yeah." He snorted and said "My dad is Poseidon, Greek god of the sea. There are children of the Greek and Roman gods all over the world, and they all have something in common with their godly parent. But the gods are immortal and refuse to believe they need us, so they reject us, and don't care if their actions hurt us." He had so much emotion in his voice, like he knew what that felt like first-hand. "Did you ever meet your dad?" "Yeah, a couple times." I waited, thinking he would tell me about it. But he never did. "So if the Greek gods exist, do the monsters in those myths exist as well?" He looked at me, and said "Yeah. The Minotaur, Medusa, all of them." "And the titans?" He flinched, and I had my answer. I was about to ask more, when Chaos re-appeared, with someone in tow. Percy's mouth dropped open, and said "Luke?"
