Disclaimer: I don't own KHR at all except my ocs.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
Switching the alarm off, I groaned as I sat up from my bed.
"It's summer break...why did I leave the alarm on?"
Oh wait...
Glancing over to the small calendar on my nightstand, a bright red circle on today's date reminded me of what's the importance of today.
That's right...it's!
"Our birthday!" I smiled in glee. Today is the day Mayu and I become thirteen years old! Can you believe we're already young adults!
Well probably preteens.
"Mayu-chan!" I got out of my bed in a hurry, knocking the door to my sister's room.
"Wake up!" I hollered as I practically banged the door using my bare fists, "It's our thirteenth-"
The creaking of a door sounded, from the opening you could see my sister glaring back at me. Sure she wakes up early for school, however when it comes to the weekends and school break...let's say Mayu is quite grumpy when abruptly awakened.
"...Sakura." Mayu muttered, "Just go make breakfast if you're that hyper."
Shutting the door right in front of my face, I gave a sigh. Then headed straight down for the kitchen, wondering what kind of breakfast we could have today.
"Western or Japanese styled breakfast?" I debated. It was so difficult to choose between the two different cooking styles. Grilled fish, rice, clear miso soup, and flower carrots? Or sunny-side up eggs, octopus sausages, tomato-lettuce salad? Then again there's always pancakes...sweet delicious fluffy pancakes...
...
...
...
...
PANCAKES IT IS!
"Now to find eggs...check...milk...check...sugar...check...flour..." I eagerly checked to make sure all of the ingredients were enough for four.
Kondo Nadeshiko
"Nngh...what time is it?" Touching my forehead using the palm of my hand, I flinched upon contact. Ouch!
...
Yesterday's event really must have stressed me out. I even slept in...I should've been awake already to make breakfast for the twin's birthday.
I closed my eyes, lying atop of my bed. The smell of food wafted into my room.
It looks like one of them woke up earlier than me, probably Sakurako. She's the one whose always up and early whenever it comes to their birthday.
Turning my head over to the framed photograph of my older brother and I when we were younger, a worried expression grew against my face.
"Hiro-nii...please return home." I can remember it as clear as day. The day Suzuki Hiroto, my older brother left and never returned home. Bearing a strong smile, unlocking the front door as he waved a see you later to the four of us. Leaving Sakurako, Mayuri, Kyosuke, and I.
We never would've thought he wouldn't return.
Of course we filed a missing person report, only to get fruitless results.
My dear brother, where in the world did you go?
After taking a deep breath, I grabbed my cellphone checking to see if there were any updates. Only to receive a message of having today off from my boss.
To Kondo-san,
Just go back to sleep, you've practically been working down to the ground during this whole project. Though tomorrow let's go see the seamstress, I've heard that she finished the first dress.
From,
Kazuma Shun
"Thanks, Kazuma-san!" I relaxed my shoulder plopping back onto my bed.
Kondo Kyosuke
Waking up to the smell of pancakes, I slowly raise myself from my bed.
"Sakura's addiction to sweets again..." Whenever Sakura debated between Japanese or Western Style food, Sakura would always end up choosing pancakes do their sweet taste upon drizzling honey over her's.
I'm surprised she hasn't had a cavity yet.
beep. beep.
"Huh?" Checking my messages, a certain name stands out.
To Kyo,
Don't forget! We're going to get a cake for your younger cousins today! And this time, you better let me see your family, I bet they're beginning to wonder who the heck I am.
From,
Maya.
"Ahaha..." I laughed for a short moment. I don't understand why she's excited to meet mine's when I already met her family.
...
In fact her older brother still gives me the chills.
"Well I better sneak out before Sakura and Mayu take notice..." I got out of my bed, readying to head out and meet up with Maya.
Suzuki Mayuri
"Pancakes for breakfast?" I stared at the plate stacked with recently made pancakes. Sakura nodded in glee, "Yup! Delicious goodness for today!"
I gave a small smile as I drizzle some honey over the fluffy warm treat.
"So where's Kyosuke-nii?" Sakura asked me, "Nade-san said she wanted to sleep in some more, but Kyosuke-nii wasn't in his room at all..."
"Was the window in his room open?" I inquired as I chewed on a piece of my pancakes.
Sakura's eyes widened, "It was...! Kyosuke-nii escaped from the window again!"
"Calm Sakura," I tried to calm my sister, "C'mon today's our birthday, it's not like Nade-san and Kyosuke-nii would forget about it. Plus we already have plans for today remember?"
"Oh yeah..." Sakura recalled before taking a bite of her breakfast, "Katekyo Hitman Reborn...! Don't worry, we'll be binge watching you the whole day!"
I gave a faint laugh watching Sakura eat her food quickly, "Don't choke yourself-"
"Hrk!"
Too late.
"Drink some water." I handed my sister a glass of water.
That Night
"..." Glancing over to the wall clock in Sakura's room, it was almost dinner time. Although even during lunchtime, Kyosuke-nii didn't return. Not only that, Nade-san went off somewhere.
Where in the world did Nade-san and Kyosuke-nii go? I hope they're not planning to go MIA like dad...
That would most likely be a worse case scenario, however I don't want to jump into conclusion that easily.
"Look! Look! Mayu-chan!" I found myself pulled closer to my sister. who was pointing at the computer screen. We were already reaching near the end of the future arc...you're probably wondering how we got that far right? Well, let's just say Sakura didn't binge watch all the episodes...probably only the episodes reflecting the major plots of KHR. I told her that wasn't binge watching, but she got a little mad at me for saying that. I quote, from Sakura, that the plot related story lines of the anime were the best parts of the anime, and the fillers kind of wasted the anime in general. Although that's in Sakura's jurisdiction.
As we continued watching the episode, a loud screech sounded.
"HIIIIE!"
Then a large thud.
"Sakura...you have strange taste in ring tones..." I gave my sister a blank stare. Though Sakura, in turn, returned a look of confusion.
"That wasn't my phone." The two of us sent each other a curious gaze.
"Well if it wasn't your phone...and obviously it wasn't mine," I paused to apologize to my sister, "No offense."
"None taken."
The two of us came to a conclusion questioning the other, "Then...who was the one that screamed?"
?
"HIIIIE!" I screeched. The last thing I remember was walking home from Namimori Middle School with Gokudera-kun and Yamamoto...but after we split up something...something happened. I can't really remember what happened at that time...though...
I soon found myself free-falling to a grassy area.
Practically face-planting onto the ground, I groaned in pain wondering, "W-Where am I?"
I lifted my head up. Trying to figure out where in the world am I. Checking my surroundings, it looks like I'm at someone's backyard. However...this house doesn't look familiar.
Am I even in Namimori?
W-Wait a minute is this future?!
...
No that can't be right...Lambo went to play with Rauji after school.
...
A gasp sounded not too far, turning toward to the source of the voice. I only found my face slamming into something, probably just as strong as Hibari-san's tonfas.
Dropping to the ground, the last words I heard were:
"Mayu, you just knocked out Sawada Tsunayoshi with a frying pan?!"
