Here's the next chapter! Now after much careful planning, I've decided to give Twilight Sparkle some screen time for this particular chapter. I mean, she is a main character after all so I figured, meh, why not? Now, in the immortal words of my good friend Deadpool...

Twilight's Lament!

After exiting the library, the team had planned on going to the mayor's house first, but something compelled them to go see Zecora first. So, it's back to the Everfree for all of them. But before leaving, Jack's girlfriend a rag doll named Sally, showed up and gave Jack his Sandy Claws outfit. As Wisdom rolled up, she couldn't help but laugh at the sight.

"Ho ho! That outfit really suits you, Jack! I've finished the scare device." Wisdom said as she gave Jack a medium sized wooden box. "If I told you what's in it though, that would ruin the surprise."

"Awww, that's so boring!" Discord whined.

"But it wouldn't be a surprise if we knew what it was, silly!" Pinkie said.

Wisdom ignored the two, and returned her attention to Jack.

"Hide this in your Sandy Bag, and use it to stun Oogie's monsters!" Wisdom instructed.

"Well, what're we waiting for?!" Rainbow Dash asked impatiently. "Let's go kick Oogie's butt, and save Twilight!"

"You guys go on ahead. The rest of us emotions will stay here with Wisdom." Rage said. "As much as I hate to admit it, we'll only slow you down the way we are now."

The others nodded at this. They knew that while there was normally safety in numbers, if they traveled in too big of a group, they'd only be slowed down. So they split up, and began to make their way to Zecora's hut in the Everfree Forest. As they walked to Zecora's hut, Celestia couldn't help but look around all nervous.

"I don't know what it is about this place, Discord, but it's giving me goosebumps!" Celestia said as her eyes darted back and forth.

"Oh, I'm certain it's nothing to worry about, Tia." Discord replied.

Though even he couldn't help but feel nervous for some unknown reason. And Fluttershy seemed even more scared than before, and it showed as she was trembling worse than ever.

"Am I the only one who's creeped out by all of the really large spiderwebs right now?" Fluttershy asked.

The others looked around, and sure enough there were some pretty big webs in the area. Which was strange to the ponies-turned-humans, since Star Spider season was still a few months away. The only one who seemed unaffected by the sudden appearance of spiderwebs was Jack.

"I actually find that these webs make this forest look so much more like home." Jack said.

The others stopped mid step, and looked at the skeleton like he'd grown a second skull. But they shook it off after remembering that Jack comes from a world where scary stuff was the norm. So they continued on to Zecora's hut to try and find some answers. However, they didn't know that without her emotions or anything to anchor her soul to her body, Twilight's soul was currently still roaming the Everfree Forest.

She still felt greatly ashamed of what she had done, and felt there was no longer a reason for her to keep on living. So as a sad tune began to play throughout the area, Twilight's soul decided to sing a song that she knew all too well.

Twilight: There are few who'd deny,

At what I do, I am the best,

For my talents are renowned far and wide!

When it comes to surprises,

In a magical duel,

I excel without ever even trying!

With the slightest little effort,

Of mhorse-like charms,

I have seen grown men give out a shriek!

With the wave of my horn,

And a well timed spell,

I have swept the very boldest off their feet!

Yet year after year, it's the same routine.

And I grow so weary of the sound of jeers.

And I... TWILIGHT!

The Mystic Queen!

Have grown so tired,

Of never being see...

Many creatures in the Everfree Forest were listening to the spirit's song, and could feel the sadness radiating from Twilight. A young Timberwolf pup began to follow Twilight's ghost as she continued her song.

Twilight: Oh somewhere deep inside of my soul,

An emptiness began to grow.

There's something out there far from my home!

A longing that... I've never known!

I'm a mistress of fright,

And a demon of light!

But won't scare you right out of your pants!

To a colt in Kentucky,

I'm little miss unlucky!

And I'm known throughout Ponyville and France!

And now that I'm dead,

I can take off my head, (removes her head)

To recite Shakespearean quotations!

No animal nor man, (puts her head back on)

Can scream like I can,

With the fury of my recitations!

But who here would ever understand,

That the Mystic Queen with the equine grin,

Would tire of her crown! If they only understood,

She'd give it all up if she only could...

Oh there's an empty place in my bones,

That calls out for something unknown!

The fame and praise come year after year,

Does nothing for... These empty tears...

As Twilight finished up her song, the young Timberwolf pup kept following her deeper into the forest. It would seem as though Twilight has been bottling up her negative emotions for a very long time, and has chosen just now to get them out. And even though she wanted to be alone, the pup's company was much appreciated by the distraught unicorn.

Sorry this took so long. It's just that I barely ever get even ONE review for this story, so I thought nobody liked it. But if you do have anything to say about this story, please don't hesitate to review!
