School corridor
Aki POV
"It's great that I was able to make friends on my very first day of school. It's not like I'm not used to talking to others, I mean, I meet a lot of people when accompanying my parents to a party or when me and mom visit dad at work. It's just that I never get to know them very well and I usually see them once or twice in my life," Akiza thought as she walks on towards her destination.
She starts humming to herself, grateful for the silence except for the rustling of the leaves and the chirping of the birds, a far cry from the commotion at the school's side entrance this morning.
"Come to think of it, Carly didn't mention anything about the so-called hottest guy in school. All I know is that he's supposed to be smart and a great duelist. I doubt that he's even worth that title. Having smarts and looks is nothing more than a bonus if she asks me." She took out her deck and began scanning through her cards, not looking up to see if she would bump into something or someone.

Yusei POV
"And so starts another stress-filled year at the academy," Yusei thought, "I mean it's great that people from the Satellite are now allowed to move about into the city and are now being given a second look because of their innate skills and abilities or for their hard work and determination. But mornings like this make me think otherwise. We're human too, get scared, bruised easily and our prone to mistakes. Being followed around and having to look behind our backs all the time for fangirls is really tiring."
Taking his phone out of his pocket, he silently debates whether to tell Jack and Crow to go duel without him. When it comes to dueling, he rarely backs down. It is his life, after all, growing up in an exiled state of land before being accepted by the city people doesn't leave a number of appealing choices to spend your past time with. Holding his deck in his other hand, he began typing to Crow that he won't be able to make it due to a certain situation. "Now all I need is an alibi to reason to them," Yusei thought as he went up the stairs not bothering to look at what was in front of him before being knocked down to the ground. The first thing that came to his mind was the scent of strawberries and roses.

Aki POV
"Sorry about that, I didn't mean to tackle you to the ground. Let me help you up," a male voice said as he quickly stood up and offered his hand to the now sitting Akiza.
"It's fine, it's fine I wasn't watching where I was go-," Akiza paused, moments before, she was watching the hard ground where she fell, now, she's looking straight into the most gorgeous eyes she's ever seen. A pair of royal blue eyes was staring into her hazel brown ones, locking her in place on the ground. So calm, so peaceful, full of worry and-.
"Uhmm, are you alright Miss?" asked the male voice.
Akiza quickly brushed away her thoughts after being sent back to reality. "Ye-yes, I'm fine, just lost my train of thought for a moment," Akiza answered, accepting his outreach hand as he helped her up.
As soon as she got up, she was able to take a better look at the male. Tall and tanned, with the upper layer of his black hair styled upwards with golden highlights while the lower layer aches down, he's wearing the same male's uniform like the rest of the guys she saw by the entrance though his was the same color as his eyes. He's built like a runner, long and lanky but not at all skinny. But what really caught her attention was his face, his handsome chiseled face frames those gorgeous blue eyes of his, almost like staring at a view of the ocean. The only other thing that could destroy his handsome face was the long jagged criminal mark on the left side of his face, which she finds interesting.
"Sorry about your cards," the boy said as he glanced at the jumbled groups of cards on the floor. "Looks like it got mixed with some of mine," said the male voice as he got down and picked up the scattered cards from the floor.
"Let me help with you that," Akiza answered as she also got down, helping pick up the scattered cards. Unknown to the boy is that Akiza kept glancing at his face while helping him collect the cards on the floor. She didn't notice that she accidentally switched one of their cards with each other. The only coherent thought running through here mind now was, "Cute, handsome, cute, handsome, cute, handsome or good-looking maybe; how about everything?" as she mentally shrieked.
As soon as they were done picking up every single card on the floor and assuming they have everything, they stood up and dusted off any dust and dirt from their clothes.
"I'm really sorry about bumping into you. I don't normally lose my head like that," the boy apologized again.
"It's fine. No harm done after all. I wasn't looking as well to where I was going," replied Akiza. She then excused herself and headed towards the classroom, not bothering to go to the ladies' room anymore.

Yusei POV
"That was a first for me, usually, when a girl sees me, they act all hyper and clingy," Yusei thought. "She on the other hand was both calm and nervous at the same time. Must be because my mark. She acted like I was an ordinary person. It's been a while that since I met an ordinary girl like that. Though ordinary is a bit of an understatement. She was so beautiful, magenta hair, hazel-brown eyes and two strands of her hair framing her alluring face. She also has quite the body to boot."
Yusei then splashed cold water onto his face. Stop with the perverted thoughts Yusei. You're starting to act like Crow. I wonder if she's a transfer student?" he asked himself.

Aki POV
"Shame on you Akiza, you're here to study, that's all. You're not here to make goo-goo eyes over some handsome stranger that you just met on your way to the ladies room. Forget him, forget those eyes, those sapphire-like eyes-NO!" she mentally slapped herself. "I'm starting to act like Carly."
"I need to keep my act together. If Carly and Misty notices me like this they'll tease me to no ends. Too bad I didn't get his name though," Aki told herself. "Don't forget he's cute little face when he started to worry for you," said a voice in her head.
"Stop!" she mentally screamed. "I'm here to study and learn. Besides, the academy grounds are huge; I doubt I'll see him again soon."
Little did she know that they'll be seeing each other soon enough.
