A/N: Sorry for the long break. I'm not even going to go into what I've been doing for the past few months. But here it is, the next chapter. . .
"Where is James?" Sirius asked, looking down the pathway that led to the floor beneath the Great Hall. He, Remus, Peter, and Demi were standing by the doorway to the hall, trying to look nonchalant. However, this was proving difficult for Sirius who kept flipping his hair nervously, Peter was biting down on his nails, and Demi and Remus were becoming increasingly fidgety as the minutes passed. Suddenly Remus jumped and pointed subtly at the staircase. The others followed his direction and saw James hurrying up the steps, stowing fabric in his bag.
He swiftly made his way over to the other four, and nodded, smiling. "I've just done it. Those house-elves though. Although some of them knew they wanted to see the Slytherins go down, they didn't want to help in case they got into trouble, so I did it by myself while they were out of the kitchen."
"Mate, you've been gone for ages though. We'd thought they'd taken you out!" Remus replied, smiling.
"Well, we'd better go inside now, or we might as well have gotten up and poured it into the cups in public," Demi said, nodding her head to the flurry of students making their way through the now open doors.
They pushed their way through, and made a beeline for the Gryffindor table, where the sat down and began to talk about relatively boring things. Frank, Alice, Lily, and Kiaria joined the five soon after.
Dumbledore stood up and began his usual pre-Halloween feast speech, "Let the feast begin."
Soon the tables were bucking with various treats such as cake, pastries, candies, and more. The Gryffindors were so entertained by the feast that they forgot about the plan until they heard a loud shriek from the other end of the hall.
A tall seventh year Slytherin girl stood up. "My eyes!" she cried. She moved her hand, and everyone could see, that they were in fact intact within her skull. However, next to her, another Slytherin jumped as both his eyes fell from his head, bounced onto his plate, and then back into his skull once more. This continued until all the students within the house, had displayed the same effects.
Dumbledore, although amused, cast a quick glance over the hall, his glare landing on the Marauders. He smiled and looked at them, "Minerva, I believe the culprits lie within your own house."
McGonagall quickly followed Dumbledore's gaze, and eyed the Marauders with great apprehension. "You five, detention with me for the entire month of November."
While the other four smiled weakly, Sirius groaned, "Oh come on Minnie!" Causing everyone to either smile or laugh. McGongall's lips were so thin, Sirius immediately shut up and turned back to the others. "I never thought she'd be able to get angrier," he marveled.
Lily looked at the five in complete disgust, "Really? You lot are so mean! What have the Slytherins ever done to you? How would you like it if everyone kept pulling pranks on you?"
"Well, to answer your questions, the Slytherins are gits, so you know, they deserve a little bit of an assault. And we wouldn't mind if people were pulling pranks on us. In fact, it would break the monotony nicely," James replied. "You're only annoyed about these pranks because Snivellus is part of them and you're just spiteful that you aren't a part of the creative process."
"You call this 'creative'? Honestly, how did you make it past the first year?" Lily said.
"I passed the tests," James said, in a normal, but slightly annoyed tone.
"Even so, Potter, I thought that you'd grown up by now. I guess it was silly of me to think you could ever get that big fat head out of your BUTT!" she screamed.
James backed away in horror, as Lily looked more angry and demented than ever, her face was as red as the hair that was flying behind her as she walked out of the hall and slammed the door shut. The few people that were watching (basically all their friends) looked back and forth between the door and James.
"I give up!" James sighed as he laid back into the red sofa. The five of them (Sirius, Peter, Remus, and Demi) were sitting in the common room, each doing their homework while pretending to listen to James vent his anger. "Honestly, I do not care about her at all."
"Finally" Sirius sighed, as he threw his quill down on the table, a smirk on his face.
"Excuse me?" James said, looking at his best friend's relaxed manner. "Are you happy that I;ve given up on Lilyflower?"
"Wait what?" Sirius said, opening his eyes and giving James a confused look. "You mean- Oh. Well, mate, put it this way. She doesn't like you and nothing you do will change that. Your best bet is to, well, move on. Get over her. Shouldn't be too hard, seeing as you never had an actual relationship."
James' jaw dropped immediately. "Wait, you want me to just, well, give up?"
"Uh, yeah" Sirius said.
"And what do you lot think about this?" James asked the others, who exchanged looks before nodding.
"I think that Sirius is right," Remus said as Peter nodded.
"Yeah, well, you two never got along in the first place, and well, she's not all that fond of you James. Believe me. Just leave her alone, and perhaps she'll come around. If she doesn't, then, move on" Demi said.
"How long do I leave her alone for? Like five minutes, a couple days, two weeks . . ." James asked.
"Well, I'd say a long time considering how much shit you've put her through and the fact that she pretty much dislikes you as much as one can dislike another," Demi reasoned.
"She hates me?" James said, a look of sadness growing upon his face.
"No, hate is a powerful word. She just dislikes you" Demi said. "It's two different things, like two different spectrums."
