Training was always one of Goku's favorite parts of his everyday life. He usually gets to go outside and breath in the air of nature. Afterward, hard work comes and things get serious. Training requires strong will, courage, and determination to overcome one's current state. Goku doesn't just want to get stronger, he also wants to explore more about himself, to see if he can reach past his limits beyond 'strength'.
He had a really a good night of sleeping until morning comes. Goku wasn't a typical 'morning guy' but now the world he is currently on is in grave danger. Plus, he will need those extra times of daylight to train his heart out. As Goku steps out of his house to the backyard, he began stretching his muscles and warming up. The outfit Goku wearing was sewed by a neighbor girl as thanks to him for getting her out of the camp which he appreciated a lot for her kindness. Leathered black pants, white long sleeve shirt, and brown boots. Just your typical medieval peasantry clothing. It was also really nice of her to make him some weight training gear as well. Of course, Goku doesn't know she secretly holds a crush on him. Well, a lot of girls around the neighborhood hold a crush on him.
However, Goku didn't let those thoughts interfere with his training nor did he really care at all due to his innocence. He needs to focus. Goku began his typical style of training with kicking, punching the air while adding more and more weight gears to his body for more push. Although he didn't want to use Ki Blast since it will disturb nearby civilians. This is a backyard, after all, a not very large one at that.
Hours and hours later, Goku is filled with sweat on every inch of his body. It was hard for him to breath normally and each one took a big gulp of air. His muscles were pulsing and vibrating from the long intense training session. It was tough like always but a big worth in the end. Not only his strength and speed increased but somehow his Ki as well. The only explanation he can come up with is that his Ki is internally and externally connected to his body at 100%.
"Whew, I guess that's enough for one day. I can feel myself getting stronger already!" Goku joyfully shouted as he started heading back inside the house. It was pretty quiet and silent as he got in, it was a surprise for Goku to find out that it was late at night and everybody was already asleep.
Goku yawned. "Whew! I've tired myself." He did a quick stretch before headed his way to his room for a nice and long night sleep.
Rumble!
A sudden rumble that shook the house abruptly woke Goku. He quickly got up and looks around to see the ceiling breaking down. He went and look through his window toward the outside. Fire. Destruction. It was everywhere around the neighborhood. There were Royalists armies moving about. Attacking and taking civilians. Screams can be heard from distances.
A sudden thought then hit Goku and he quickly busts through his door. 'I need to find Genta and Kotona!' Goku first open Kotona's room and found no one inside. This worries him deeply but he needs to check on Genta as well. Maybe she's with him. Moving to the next door, Goku opens Genta's room and looked inside for him.
What he saw grazes for eternity. With his back against the bloody wall, Genta clutches his stomach which has a large stab wound. His vision was blurry and the pain was unbearable. Goku quickly went by Genta side and block the wound with both of his hands. But nothing he did worked as Genta got more pale, slowly hanging from the last thread of his life.
"Come on! COME ON! GENTA STAY WITH ME!" Goku cried out. He generated Ki onto his hands and the wound was slowly healing, but as Goku realized the obvious, it was far too late to save him now. Goku felt a cold hand touch his right arm and it was from Genta's, who kept a smile on his face. Before Goku even knew what had happened, Genta's life was already over. His Ki had completely depleted from his senses. His lifeless body was all that left.
"Please...please...don't go."
The man that took him in and nurtured him in this new world, inspired him, was taken away by death. Goku's wild hair shadows his eyes as he looks down in despair. Left utterly powerless, or so it seems. His face scrunches into a hatred and the entire house began shaking violently. And so did the planet of Yokubo. Every single being thought it was another regular earthquake, but oh how wrong they were.
It was the power of pure rage from a Saiyan in distress. Goku was then enveloped in a white flashing aura that nearly destroys the entire room. A familiar feeling travels across his body. It was then he knew that his power has completely gone back to 100%. His true max power.
"I promise you, Genta. I will find who did this and make them pay." Goku said before resting the man's eyes and turning his back to walk away. Looking back, he has a new objective to tackle. This time, however, he won't go easy or hold back.
"See you guys, I'll be heading out, ok?"
"Don't forget your promise, sis!"
Cassandra brightly smiles at the elf family before blasting off into the sky, leaving a trail of breeze wind. She heard reports from nearby locals and news that a district town was deliberately attacked by an unknown force. Either its true or not, she had to investigate. It only took a few minutes until Cassandra was able to get a sight of the district town, which had multiple clouds of smoke coming off.
It seems like the district town was attacked but what's odd was that there was no sight of an enemy. Houses were torn down, debris and remains of buildings were everywhere. Softly landing down, she stood in shock at the bodies laid before her. A lot of them were still breathing even though they looked beaten up to the core. Most of them were clad in fancy armor. There were dead civilians as well much to Cassandra's dismay.
"...p-please...help me." One of the injured men coughs as he tries to reach for Cassandra but ultimately fell unconscious to the pain. Cassandra was surprised but brushed it off and continues her search. There must at least a clue as to what happened. Or maybe an explanation. She needed an answer for this crime. 'I guess mother wasn't lying when she said the mortal realm is in some sort of danger.'
Clang!
'There! A sound!' Cassandra quickly equips her shield and spear on both hands, aiming her fighting stance in the direction of the noise. Amid the dust was a figure slowly walking toward her but she couldn't get a clear sight of the individual appearance. A gust of powerful blasted the dust away, revealing the mysterious figure to be none other than the Saiyan, Son Goku, himself, and from his expression, he didn't look like he had a very good day.
Cassandra toughens her guard at his presence. She asked loudly, "State your name, stranger!" Goku stood still, staring at her with his brows furrow and didn't look intimidated one bit. "What are you doing here?" He asked back.
"No, you answer my question! I asked first!"
"I asked second!"
"I don't have time for jest!" Cassandra exclaims, every second she is getting more irritated. She squints her eyes in irritation. Goku sigh and reluctantly answers. "My name is Son Goku, as to why I'm here, these guys in armors here attack this town so I had to put them down."
"And how do I know if you're telling the truth?" Goku slowly took a deep breath in impatience before replying in his most serious tone.
"Look. These men, or Royalists or whatever, are part of a large army that only seek power and dominance across the entire planet. They will kill and take anything, one by one. District by district. And they will not stop." Although this wasn't the typical Goku speaking, the matters on his hand are heavier than he thought.
His words did leave some marks on Cassandra's mind, maybe he's telling the truth, maybe he's lying, who knows? However, she can't seem to trust him one bit. Right now, this man in front of her is no more than a suspect. There's no evidence to either prove if he's a criminal or innocent but she needs to keep her guard at all times. Cassandra reluctantly responds, "Damn. All right. I believe your words for now, but don't be thinking ahead that I trust you. I still see you as a suspect."
With that, Cassandra lowered her shield and spear. But her eyes said otherwise. Her glares were giving Goku the chills as he nervously smiles in appreciation, reverting back to his usual, goofy attitude, though she kinda reminds him of someone else. There was long lingering silence between the two, both didn't dare to make a single movement.
"Sooo...umm...What about you? What's your name?" Goku asked, breaking the air of silence. Unfazed, she answered immediately.
"Cassandra."
Goku scratches the back of his head and sweat-dropped at her demeaning attitude.
"Uh...What are we going to do now?"
"We? There's no 'we', you're coming with me." Cassandra answered. She went behind Goku's back and harshly pushed him forward as he stumbles a bit. Her strength surprised him. "Move!"
Goku, smirking, brought two fingers of his left hand onto forehead and waves at her. "No can do, Miss Cassandra." Just when Cassandra was about to respond, the man disappears in a flash, shocking her no doubt. She stood still in her position, speechless. "Wha...What? How...How did he do that?"
District 1132th, Elven Forest
Goku didn't think twice of his chosen location when he uses Instant Transmission, he just needed to get away safely from the lady dressed in strange clothing. The Royalist is his main concern and he can't get distracted from his objective. Looking around his surrounding, all Goku saw was a lot of dense forests but his senses began picking hundreds of Ki nearby. Maybe there are people who can help him find these Royalist in this new, massive, and uncharted world.
It took a long time for Cassandra to be able to comprehend what just happened. The strange man she just held captive quickly disappeared right in front of her in a blink of an eye. She doesn't know if that "Son Goku" has some kind of special ability but he's still a suspect in her eyes and needs to be tracked down under her supervision.
He was her main focus. There's a lot of questions she had in her mind she wishes to interrogate him with, especially as to what happened to this town. No answers yet, unfortunately. After looking around some more, which is now more of a ghost town, she found evidence that supported Goku's words. Coming from a letter picked up on one of the unconscious armored soldiers, there were orders to attack this town and take it over by full control.
It was signed by a person named Ser Hamson, aka, the feared Executioner. Tossing the letter away in anger, Cassandra can't imagine the image of family and loves getting slaughtered. She couldn't dare picture the loved ones of her own in those states. The fire spreading, blocking the screams of any living thing in sight. It would be...a horrifying vision to see. She can even hear the cries and moans of the dead. Spirits, floating about, stuck in a purgatory and with no purpose. There was no sign of active life in this town other than her.
The sun almost setting down anyway and she needed to get back home, besides, she's not a person to be breaking promises, especially to a young elf girl. Before blasting off, Cassandra took one last look of sadness toward the town.
Meanwhile...
"So? How did our invasion on District 1055th go? Hm?" Ser Hamson said as he sat down on his throne, looking down at the young poor elf messenger before him.
"U-um...It...It didn't go as well as you expected it to be...Ser. T-the entire army was...mysteriously taken down. Many villagers escaped with few houses intact." He said nervously, shaking on the inside. For some unknown reason, Ser Hamson didn't look surprised and spoke in a sarcastic-like tone. "Oh. Well, that's not what I wanted to hear, especially in this beautiful morning. Wouldn't you agree?"
He motions the young elf to follow outside of his castle, which he immediately did, fearing the infamous status of the man. The two stood near side by side, watching the sun rising from the horizon. The structure of the castle helps the view which is no doubt, an amazing sight. Ser Hamson always got the luxury to wake up to the beautiful image while his team of what he admitted were, "savages", as elsewhere in their quarters.
"Well. I asked you a question."
"Uh...Y-yes...yes Ser, I completely agree with you. I-I would be greatly disappointed as well." As the feared man in the entire of Yokubo smiles, the elf beside him sweats in uneasiness. Every time Ser Hamson smiles, there was always something off about it. It may look normal on the outside, but for those who knew him better, it was completely deceiving on the inside. "I've guessed you would be. Can you picture the image of losing and understand what it means? I mean even if I tell you, you wouldn't get one bit of what I'm saying... spending so much precious time, building up so much yet in the end it falls. All collapsing down on you and then you realize, why did I waste my life on failure? I've could've spent them on doing many new and exciting things. But let me tell you, winning is the most pleasurable and exciting thing you can ever experience in life."
Minutes of silence took over, which to the young elf, felt like hours. Ser Hamson spoke, "Well, I won't be wasting your time anymore. As I'm sure, we both have other business to attend to. Go on." The young elf politely bows before quickly walked away. However, before he took another step, it came to an abrupt stop from a familiar voice. "By the way, messenger. Can I see that wedding ring on you for a moment?"
Curious and perplexed by the man's request, he didn't dare to question so he took off the most sacred thing he held dear, his wedding ring. Placing it on Ser Hamson's hand, the man looked at it in fascination.
"Beautiful. What a richly exquisite looking ring." The elf smiles for a bit before it changes into shock when Ser Hamson snatched the ring away, leaving elsewhere with it in his gripped hand.
"S-Ser! May I ask where you are going with it?"
"With what?" He replied.
"My ring."
Ser Hamson looked as if he was about to fell into a laughter. "Your...ring? Your ring? Let me tell you something you didn't realize yet, you low smelly skunk of an elf. It's not YOUR ring anymore. It's mine."
"Please...Ser. It was the ring... that I put all my life to get for my wife. Please...It holds so many memories for me." The elf said as his eyes waters in fear. Fear of losing a part of himself.
Ser Hamson stood unfazed by the elf's emotion-filled words. In fact, he laughed on his face as an insult. "Ohh. I remember now. Your wife. I heard you two were childhood lovebirds ever since you both were born. How romantic. And thanks to you, as a loyal servant should be, I'll have another set of wives and give this, my ring to her... Isn't that such happiness?"
This drove the young elf over the edge, as he quickly pulled out a knife and thrust it at Ser Hamson. His title as the most feared man in the entire world was no laughing matter, however, as Ser Hamson grabbed his hand, knocking the knife onto the floor, and dislocating his entire arm with a quick snap. The elf screams in pain as he fell hard onto the floor, holding his now grotesque arm, struggling to resist the excruciating pain.
Ser Hamson chuckles menacingly as he picked up the knife and brought to the elf's throat. As they both look each other eyes, one with evil and one fills with tears, Ser Hamson speaks in his most menacing voice. "Her smell...will be on my bedsheet tonight." A single slice was an action that ended the young elf's life, his life flashes before his eyes before it shuts forever.
Picking himself up, Ser Hamson calls in his guards. "Clean up this mess. I don't want my quarter to be ruined by the blood of a lowlife. And take his body to the butcher like the rest, I would like to have a nice morning breakfast."
All Goku knew up to this point was that he is currently surrounded by a bunch of men and women with long pointy ears and mostly dresses in green. They had swords, spears, and bows pointing at him. The worst part of them all was that they looked as if they will not hesitate to attack. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be Royalists he's looking for.
Goku can hear the murmurs among them.
"Why don't we just kill him already."
"Not until the Commander orders it."
"Gotta admit. He's a hottie. "
A loud demanding voice then came to the area.
"Hold your fire!" Out came another man and like the others, has long pointy ears and dressed in green, but has more brown leather armor and seems to in a higher position. He also has long light blonde hair and carries a longbow on his back.
Heli approaches Goku with glaring anger in his eyes, which to his confusion. The man took him by surprise when he boldly grabs his gi with both of his hands, the two, face to face. No one in the area made a single move or even think wanting to. The tension was real. Ever since humanity conquered, slaughtered, enslaved, and broken their race, the elves were never the same. Their hatred for humanity and to get revenge on them was their only purpose.
Back to the two men, who have been staring at each other of what felt like for more than an hour, Heli was the first to broke the silence between them.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't put my arrow through you." He said. Although Goku didn't fully understand the Heli's words, he knew that it was a threat. "Umm..." Was all that Goku got, as he sweats slightly at the intimidating glares he got around him. Yes, he may be the most powerful being, but he has his fears, especially needles. Oh how much Goku hated them.
"I see." As strange as it was to Goku, Heli lets go of his gi before walking away with his back to him. Goku let out a sigh of relief, it was getting really uncomfortable, but what came next took him completely surprise. Every single elf archer surrounding him free their hands from the string, letting the arrows flew at him.
Many 'whizzing' sound can be heard. The elves knew that the 'human' will be killed no doubt. After all, a "rain of arrows" around a single man should kill him. Death was the only road from there.
But the end result was not anyone was expecting. Their bodies shook as shocks of lighting circulated through them. Eyes widen and sweat forms. Even Heli couldn't look at anything with his usually straight face.
Every single one of those fast-lighting arrows simply bounces off Goku's body, breaking apart into pieces in the process. There was not a single scratch on him or his gi. And for Goku, he was unfazed afterward. His expression became more serious.
"If you would've given me the time and space then you would already have gotten your answer. I am not your enemy."
It took a while for the elves to process at what just happened. First this 'human' came out unharmed from their arrows and then claim that he is not their enemy. It was extremely baffling. Heli was the first to snap back to composure.
"You and your magic will not put us in fear! We've seen what you humans are capable of, but we're not backing down anymore! Kill him!"
"Wait for a sec-" Goku didn't have a chance to finish speaking before he dodges under a sword swipe, cutting right through a single strand of his hair. The elves charged at him with their weapons, intending to cut him to pieces. Their attacks were nonstop, each coming with quick speed but with powerful force behind. But none even budge Goku's confidence. As he flawlessly dodges them all in fast smooth motion, the elves were getting tired and irritated at every second.
"Stand still dammit!"
"What is he?!"
'Man, this could've been much more entertaining but it's a whatever.' Goku thought. And with a quick movement of his hands, a powerful gust of wind blasted the elves away, some hitting each other, objects, or had a hard way down onto the dirt ground. Moans and groans can be heard.
"Like I said before. I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY. I only wish to talk. Please, we don't have to use force on each other."
"Your words make me want to laugh! What makes you think that we should trust you? A human." As Heli's eyes darken to the past, he began scrolling his memories full of anything but good. "For centuries, you humans were always one step ahead. Making alliances with savages like orcs and demons so you can finally have the joy of stomping us. Stabbing us in the back. Billions of elves were tortured, raped, enslaved, and stripped of what they really are. I've watched my young daughter butchered and tossed into the bloody river! My wife, disgraced and chopped into pieces! And yet, here you stand, asking to ally with us once more. But you won't betray us the second time! I won't let that happen again!"
Strength droves inside the elves as they slowly stood up, even if it was a pain to do so. Picking up their weapons, the elves groans while they struggled to straighten their stance. It was an image of courage, determination, and the power of will.
Meanwhile, Goku's heart was utterly broken from Heli's speech. It was more painful than anything he has ever experience in his life. He'd rather get beaten up to a pulp by Jiren. For years, he never imagines human beings, the people he trusted and vow to protect, committed such a terrible action. And it was centuries ago.
His spiky hair shadows his eyes, blocking a single tear dripping down his face. Goku brought his right hand up, wiping it away.
"I-I know what it's like to lose... everything. I've experienced those many times over and over. But even if it hurts like hell... I never gave in to darkness. If I do, If I allow myself to drown onto those dark days, I'll lose more than what I already had. I'll even lose myself... please. Even if you don't trust me one bit, at least give me a chance for us to fight for peace and freedom."
The sun brightens through the trees as its light shines on Goku, showing his face full of tears and sadness while he has his hand brought out, not only just asking for an alliance...but also took the risk for forgiveness on humanity. Heli took his time to recollect his thought and decisions. He saw himself in Goku's eyes. And along with the other elves, lowered their weapons. Heli approaches Goku once more, but with admiration and not intimidation. The two proud warriors shook hands and smile at each other.
"War has cause immeasurable chaos and destruction. I only wanted equal liberty to all in this great world, and you offer me that chance. To make a difference for the future generation. I thank you for giving us hope. But promise me that you'll keep your words to heart and not turn back on us. If you do, you will get to taste my true wrath... understand?"
Goku gulped in fear and quickly nodded.
"Good. Now, come along then."
Heli turns his back, walking back to his base with Goku quickly following behind. He still kept his guard up as he can sense large distrust and suspicion from all of the elf soldiers that still surrounded him even when their commander took him as an ally.
The two were halted by an elf messenger, who quickly gave a salute to Heli. "Commander Heli, I have receive reports from Bellock Tower that the uprising has ended."
Heli replies. "It did? How did it go?"
The messenger slightly sweats as he knew the answer he was about give will greatly anger Heli. "Umm...the entire r-rebellion was wiped out clean, Commander."
Expecting an outburst of rage, the messenger braces himself. However, what actually came was...unexpected. Heli slightly has his head down, chuckling.
"As expected. I saw it coming but those idiot humans just wouldn't listen, eh? They refuse to heed my message and mistakenly underestimate the Royalists... fools."
Brushing past the messenger, Heli showed no emotion, slightly creeping Goku out. 'How can speak like that without any sympathy? That's just cruel.' He thought, continuing to follow the man. The messenger, once again, halts Heli and Goku from their advance.
"What is it now?" Heli said, slightly irritated.
"Commander, reports from our scouts said that a fortress of Royalists are held up nearby at District 1134th."
Heli's eyes sparks as he nods his head. "Hmm...I'll see that a small army will be sent to take it over. You are dismiss."
"Yes, Commander!" The messenger then leaves. Goku, who listened through the whole conversation, decided that this was his chance. He intercepts Heli, putting a hand on his shoulder. Heli in response turns around, noticing the message.
"What is it Goku?"
"I heard that you are sending a small group to these Royalist guys."
"And?"
Goku chuckles and said. "I was wondering if you would let me join them to...you know...have a chance to help out." The two stood completely still, in silence. While Goku was nervously waiting for an answer, all Heli did was stares straight at him with a blank face.
"Fine. I will be sending out a small band by tomorrow morning. But down blame us if you get killed." Goku pumps his hands in excitement, slightly jumping up and down like a child.
"Yes! Thank you so much, Heli!" Sweat dropping, Heli turns his back and walks off. Goku did the same, but in search for food instead, as his stomach was growling like a beast in hunger.
