04: Truly, Madly, Deeply

I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish

Dana opened her eyes and streched her legs out. She felt something on her side and looked to see an arm resting over her. She flipped over to see Sam sleeping beside her. She felt a faint heat cross her cheeks as she looked at his sleeping face. His hair was messy, nearly sticking out in all directions, and there was a tiny smile on his face. Dana smiled and snuggled closer to Sam.

"Hmm...?" Sam mumbled, moving slightly. Dana smiled at him. "Morning." She said. Sam smiled a sleepy smile as he leaned forward and kissed Dana. "Hi there." He said.

Dana giggled, brushing some of Sam's hair out of his face. "We should start getting ready for school." She said softly. Sam nodded, yawning as he released his hold on Dana.

The two of them sat up. Dana streched as she stood, walking over to their shared dresser as a knock sounded on the door.

"Yes?" Dana asked. "Hey guys, just letting you know that Will and I are heading to the school in an hour." Emma's voice replied happily. "Okay, thanks Emma!" Sam replied before Dana could.

Sam turned to Dana, who had grabbed some clothes and was starting to leave. "Hey Dana?" He called. Dana turned to face him. "Yeah Sam?" She asked. "Are you alright? You seemed pretty shaken up last night." Sam asked.

Dana smiled and walked over to Sam, kissing his cheek. "I'm fine. Thanks for worrying about me."

One Week Later

Dana and Sam walked into the school after lunch, Sam holding Dana's hand securely. She looked at him. "Are you alright?" she asked. Sam smiled and kissed Dana's temple. "I'm fine. Come on, lets go to Glee." he said. Dana nodded.

When they walked into the Choir room, Dana saw that they were the first ones there. Sam hugged her waist, pulling her close to him. "I'm really glad that you're my girlfriend." he said, into her ear.

Chills went down Dana's spine and she smiled at him, kissing him. "I'm really that that you're my boyfriend." she said, wrapping her arms around his neck. Sam smiled, resting his forehead on hers. He gently kissed her and she ran her fingers through his hair.

When they broke for air, Dana set her forehead on Sam's shoulder. "I'm so happy with you Sam...I...I think..."

"Hey guys!" Tina's voice jolted the couple out of their moment and they turned to greet her. "H-Hey Tina." Dana said, smiling. "Hey Tina." Sam said with a lopsided smile on his face. "Did you guys hear? It's Brittany week." Tina said, sitting in a chair in the front row. "Really? That seems like it's going to be...interesting." Dana said as she and Sam sat down.

I'll be your love be everything that you need

Dana sat on the couch in the living room of the Shuester household, reading. Sam was watching TV. "Dana, Sam. Will and I are heading to his parent's house for a couple of hours." Emma said as she grabbed her purse. "Alright. Is there anything that you needed us do do by the time that you got back?" Sam asked.

Emma shook hear head. "We'll be back in two or three hours, so there's no issue there."

Dana smiled. "Alright then. We'll make sure to call you if anything happens." she said. Mr. Schue smiled. "Okay. See you two later." he said. They walked out of the door, and just before he closed it, he added, "-and no funny buisness Sam!"

"Hey!" Sam said in protest. Emma and Mr. Schue's laughter echoed just before they closed the door.

Dana buried her face in her book, feeling heat on her cheeks. "Dana?" Sam asked. Dana looked at Sam, only to feel his lips on hers. She, in return, blushed even more and pouted, looking away. Sam laughed and Dana elbowed him.

Sam stood. "Where are you going?" Dana asked. Sam smiled. "I'll be right back." he said, walking into their room.

Dana let out a huff and slammed her book shut. She glared at the TV. Soon after, a hand obscured her view. "S-Sam!" she squeaked. Sam chuckled and lifted his hand to reaveal a tiny, dark red, rectangular box on Dana's lap.

Dana's eyes grew wide and she looked at Sam as he sat next to her. "W-what is this for...?" she whispered. "We've been together for six months. I wanted to surprise you." Sam replied. "Open it."

Dana looked at the box. She opened it and sucked in a breath, biting her lip. She felt tears in her eyes as she lifted up the top. Inside of the box was a silver colored oval locket on a grey chain. Dana gently lifted it out of the box and looked at Sam. "H-how did you...?" she asked; her voice in awe. Sam smiled. "Remember during the summer when I was helping my dad out?" he asked. Dana nodded. "I saved up the money he gave me to get you this."

"S-Sam! You...you didn't need to get this for me!" Dana said in surprise. Sam hugged Dana. "Dana, I got it for you because I wanted to. Plus I worked for the money, so you can't get upset with me." he said.

Dana looked at the locket in her hand. "Oh Sam...I...I really don't know what to say." she whispered. Sam kissed her cheek. "I'm glad that you like it."

"I...I didn't even get you anything." Dana mumbled. "Hey, it's alright. I'm just glad that you're happy." Sam said softly, cupping Dana's cheek in his hand. Dana sighed, closing her eyes.

A smle grew on her face and she looked at Sam again. "Thank you." she said before kissing his cheek. Dana held the necklace out. "Help me put it on?"

Sam nodded, smiling. Dana turned and lifted her long hair up. As Sam fastened the chain around her neck, he noticed something on her back. Sam poked the spot and Dana jolted. "What's this?" he asked. Dana dropped her hair and sat against the couch. She touched the locket and looked at Sam. "It's...well..." she whispered.

Dana shifted around and stared at the carpet. Sam sighed and kissed her cheek. "I understand if you don't want to talk about it right now. Just know that when you're ready to talk about it, I'll be here."

Dana nodded and turned, wrapping her arms around Sam. "Thank you." she whispered, her face buried in his chest. Sam hugged her back. "It's no problem."

I love you more with every breath truly, madly, deeply, do

Dana walked into the choir room. She sat beside Marley and when Sam walked in the room, he sat beside Dana and draped an arm around her shoulder.

"So Marley, did you have any songs picked out for this week?" Dana asked. Marley nodded shyly. "I...have a few that I was considering." she said with a tiny smile. "I'm sure that whichever song you pick will sound great." Dana said. "Thanks Dana." Marley said, a smile growing on her face.

"Do you have a song picked out?" she added. Dana nodded. She leaned over and whispered in Marley's ear. "Really? You'll sound great!" Marley said, the smile on her face turning into a grin.

Mr. Schue walked into the choir room and Dana raised her hand. "Yes Dana?" he asked. "I...I have a song I'd like to sing. Would it be alright?" Dana asked. "Sure." Mr. Shue said. He walked over and sat in the chair beside his office.

Dana stood and sat on the stool in front of the piano. She smiled shyly at the Glee Club. "I was trying to come up with a good song to sing this week. It was...harder than I thought it would be." Dana chuckled and heard faint chuckles from the rest of the glee club members. "And then I think of a memory with Sam and me. It was when we were driving back to Lima after visiting his family for the summer. A Britney song came on the radio and...well...Sam started singing it to me."

More chuckles sounded and Sam smiled. "I thought to myself, 'of all songs to sing, why would he choose this one?' then I started to listen to it. I started crying and Sam pulled the car over. He thought that he had hurt me, but I told him otherwise. He asked if it was him, and I replied 'no Sam...it wasn't you. I just never thought that I'd ever feel loved.' After that, Sam kissed me and sang the rest of the song to me as we sat beside the road."

Dana looked at Sam. "As I remeber that song, I remember something Sam. I remember that you are the first person to make me feel happy in a long time. You actually make me feel...loved." she said, a soft smile on her face. She then took a deep breath. "So...this is not only my song for Britney week, but it's also my song for our six months being together. If you want to sing along, feel free to."

As Dana nodded to the band, they started playing. Dana noticed the recognition in Sam's eyes as his smile grew.

"They say in this world,
nothing lasts forever
But I don't believe that's true
Cause the way that I feel
When we are together
I know that's the way,
I always feel for you."

As Dana reached the chorus, the Glee kids started to echo her words.

"From now until forever thats how long I'll be true
I will make you this vow and promise you now until forever
I'll never stop loving you."

Sam stood and started singing the next verse. Dana slightly blushed as he sang to her.

"Then will come a day when the world stops turning
And stars will fall from the sky
But this feeling will last
When the suns start burning
But all I wanna do is love you,
Until the end of time."

Sam held his hand out to Dana and she took it, standing up from the stool. They sang the chorus together as Sam held Dana's hand.

"From now until forever thats how long I'll be true
I will make you this vow and promise you now until forever
I'll never stop loving you."

They sang the next part together, Sam echoing Dana.

"It's gonna take more than a lifetime
To give you all the love (all the love)
Feels for you tonight."

As they continued to sing, tears started falling from Dana's face. She smiled and continued singing. Sam looked at her, feeling slightly worried.

"From now until forever thats how long I'll be true
I will make you this vow and promise you now until forever
I'll never stop loving you.

Until forever,
I'll never stop loving you."

As they finished the song, Sam held Dana, and she smiled, wiping her tears away. The glee club applauded for them and just before Dana pulled away, Sam kissed her. She smiled and took his hand in hers.

In that moment, with Sam and her makeshift Glee family, Dana was happy.
