Smoldering fire causes trouble for all

'A-A claw through my chest?' Yoh thought over what Marion told him as he stood still in the alley with Matamune. The guardian cat and Shaman had not moved yet, the words she told them still haunting Yoh. Matamune being the wise cat he was placed a paw on his master's back and rubbed it gently. It would do them no good to keep thinking about it; instead, they should be focusing their task on more important things.

"Master Yoh we should be on our way," Matamune advised his master continuing to gently rub his paw on his master's back. That had the affect of calming Yoh down and agreed with his guardian cat. Yoh shook off his worries about the claw and looked down at Matamune thanking his guardian.

Both Shaman and guardian cat alike left the alley in search of ghosts that could tell them more about where they were in Italy. So far, after three hours of searching what Yoh and Matamune could gather was that they were in the part of Italy called Catania. There was also talk of some sort of gang war.

But what got Matamune's attention was the fact that the ghosts said talk about witches. Apparently, it was about a blonde haired person who wore dark clothing when ever she was around others; destruction was followed suit behind her. The ghosts usually saw her during the afternoon and the evening she would vanish that was all the information they could gather.

"So with that settled master Yoh what do you think we should do?" Matamune questioned his master, currently the two were sitting on a bench looking at an elephant fountain spew water. It may not have been wise to others to allow a child to make decisions, but Yoh was a Shaman and he needed to grow.

"Honestly, Matamune I do not know. I guess what we could do is wait around for Marion to show up again," Yoh answered it was the best thing he could come up with. Plus, if the boy was being honest he could feel that the girl was troubled. The young shaman continued to stare at the fountain as passing tourist walked on by eating Italian bread. Yoh was feeling quite hungry after literally falling into Italy and doing all that research about Italy.

The young shaman continued to rub his stomach in circles trying to placate his hunger, taking off his backpack. Yoh fished around inside his backpack looking for money what he brought out of his backpack raised a few brows from tourists. Yoh brought out Futunomitama no Turugi, the book of purify from his ancestor Yohken, and various other objects finally at the bottom of the backpack was money in the form of yen.

Yoh smiled glad that he had money and counted the amount of yen he had with him. It was staggering at the amount of yen it was more than he got for an allownace. The amount of yen he held was about 300,000 yen he could buy so much with this. Yoh held within his hand a 1,000 dollar yen note placing the rest of the money back in his backpack, along with his other more personal belongings.

Matamune went up to the bread cart first and tapped the man's head who was selling bread. He injected a very small bit of energy into the man so that when Yoh went up to the man he would be able to understand him. After doing so he returned to the bench as Yoh finally got things in order.

The young shaman went up to the bread cart stand and held out the yen to the owner. The man took one look at the note and shook his head in refusal of accepting the money.

"What but why? This should be good enough to buy a loaf of bread!" Yoh shouted at the man he was hungry and grumpy. So his usual gentle tone was replaced with anger. The man could not understand Yoh's Japanese accent and was about to report him to the police.

"Wait! this boy is with me allow me to pay for him," a gruff sounding voice spoke up for Yoh. The young shaman tilted his head upwards to look at the one who spoke up for him. It was an man with a shaggy looking beard, his head was completely bold, and the man dressed professionally in a black suit. His black eyes looked very serious beneath his casual demenaor as he gave Yoh two loafs of Pane di Genzano bread. Yoh thanked the man extensively returning to the bench and ate the two loafs of bread gratefully.

Matamune looked at the man intensely something felt off about the man. The guardian continued to stare at the man wondering what angle the man was playing at. The cat reached into his haori and brought out his singnature pipe smoking from it. The smoke did not bother Yoh, but to the surprise of both Shaman and guardian it did affect the man.

"What smells like smoke? Little boy is there a cigar around?" The man coughed into his elbow looking around for the source. Yoh looked around with the man and silently signaled for Matamune to stop smoking. The bipedal cat curtly nodded putting away his pipe intrigued by this man who actually smelt the smoke from his pipe.

It was strange, because the smoke should only be smelt by Shamans or those who could see spirits.

Yoh after finishing his two loafs of bread thanked the man again and got up from the bench ready to go. "Thank you sir for all your help, but what did you help me?"

"It's simple my boy from what I can tell about you is that your a tourist. Hopefully your parents are around and come back soon, because a young boy such as yourself should not be waiting out here alone." The man responded raising a hand to stroke his beard. What he gathered about the boy was that he was japanese judging by his cheekbones and clothing. The man did study japanese for four years so it was also one reason why he helped the boy.

"I am not alone. My guardian is nearby" Yoh replied sharing a look between him and Matamune. The man had noticed the boy's trailing glance beside him and wondered what that was about. For a split second as the man gazed at what Yoh glanced at he could faintly see the image of some sort of cat a-and it was wearing sandals.

"Well to be safe here is money incase you need to eat kid. Guardian or not leaving a child by himself is not good." The man fished out from his pocket a clip of dollars and gave it to the boy. Yoh appreciated the man for all his help and looked at the money a strange green tree in the middle with some kind of man in front of it.

"Thank you for all your help again sir..." Yoh trailed off not knowing the man's name and did not want to be impolite.

"Haha i'm Mariano Savioz, a reporter for the daily news." The man mildly chuckled extending his hand out to the boy in a firm handshake.

"Hehe and I am Asakura Yoh," Yoh replied chuckling shaking the man's hand. The man was slightly surprised by the boy's grip while it was nowhere near that of a man. It did have some strength to it.

Once, the handshake ended Yoh and Matamune walked away from Mariano. The two went looking for more ghost, while trying to stay as conspicious as possible. Mariano watched the boy leave questions forming in his mind, but held them off he had more pressing concerns to contend to. Unbeknownist to Yoh, the whole time he was talking to Mariano two men in black suits had been watching the exchange hidden under the guise of reading a newspaper.

"It looks like the boss might have found the one," one of the men in black suits whispered to the other. The man beside him nodded while continuing to read from the newspaper specifically an article about a murder.

Mariano looked toward the two men in black suits the look in his eyes drastically changed from earlier, instead of a kind look it was now more of a dangerous look promising murder. That boy could be the one he was searching for no he knew the boy was, and no one was going to get in his way. The two men gulped underneath such a cold look and looked at each other finding some solace as Mariano walked away.

About three hours later in the evening almost nightime Yoh and Matamune were walking down a quiet street in the evening sun. Truth be told Yoh had no idea where to go and was simply letting his feet drag him in any direction. While Yoh was doing that Matamune had been watching his surroundings for his master. The guardian cat felt like they were being watched, but whatever what was watching them stayed out of sight.

'I should alert master Yoh of what feels like someone following us, but I don't want him to have uneeded worry.' Matamune thought inhaling the smoke in his pipe as his tails swayed behind him. The very hair of his tails stood on end danger being present.

"Master Yoh look out!" Matamune urgently warned jumping away from where he was. Yoh doing the same at his warning and jumped out of the way of whatever this danger was. It was a very good thing, because the monster that attacked them was none other than a vicious spirit in the form of a purple beast.

The snarling purple beast looked like some sort of chimera of origin with a human like face, but it had clumps of purple fur that looked like a werewolf. It towered above Yoh and Matamune by ten feet snarling at the two in anger. The very tail it had hissed like a snake in the shape of a python.

"M-Matamune w-what i-is that?" Yoh questioned his guardian his body telling him to run, instead of fight this beast. The chimera's gaze was primarily on Yoh the very smell of his furyoku attracted it to the boy. His smell was that of sweet nuturing life and warm flesh. The flesh part being of an observational look rather than a sense of smell.

"That my young master Yoh is a chimera. I have only seen one in my whole afterlife. The first one was with Hao and your ancestor with all his might tamed a creature. This is a fierce beast made of spirits who have lost all since of self," Matamune calmly told his master while channeling Reikyrou into his pipe. The familiar golden glow encompassed the cat as his pipe transformed into a katana. He would allow no harm to befall his master.

The chimera glared at the cat that was trying to impeade him and spat out a corrosive purple acid towards him. Matamune blocked the streamline attack by using his katana as a shield. The katana held firm through the acid and did melt, although the concreate beneath Matamune bubbled.

"Matamune let me help we can use unity," Yoh called out to his guardian cat not wanting to lose him. He figured spirit unity helped them countless times before.

It would surely help them now right?

"No master Yoh unity will not slay this beast for that we would need-" Matamune was cut off by the chimera recklessly charging towards him. Leading the two into a separate district as Yoh clinched his fist in worry. He couldn't help Matamune and had to hope the cat spirit was alright.

"Boy what are you doing out here? Come with me this place is dangerous at night," A scared voice called out to the boy and before Yoh could protest he was scooped up into the arms of a person. The sounds of guns firing off in the sky piercing the dusk evening. Yoh shouted at the person to let him go, but the person was adament on not letting a child get hurt by encroaching gang violence.

"Hey let me go! Please let me go!" Yoh shouted at the person he wasn't worried about his safety the only thing on his mind was Matamune. The shaman did not want to lose his friend at all.

"Boy just calm down stop shaking so much," the person tried to ease the worry of the boy and did not want to harm the boy to keep him quiet. The boy seemed to understand her words and had calmed down, but only by a little bit.

When the person had stopped running with Yoh in arms; she put the boy down on his feet and gave him a sharp look.

"Boy, what do you think you were doing out there?! Either your one of those dumb tourists or you really have no idea what goes on down at this part of town," the woman scolded the boy with her hands on her hips.

"I was walking with my friend! A-And because of m-me h-he could be hurt," Yoh retorted to the woman his fist bundled up tightly holding himself back from crying. It would be his fault if he lost his guardian. It would be his fault if this all Shaman's journey failed. Yoh may have been more mature for his age, but he was still a child tears forming at the corner of his eyelids.

"H-Hey it's okay sorry for yelling at you. Don't cry little boy ok?" The woman tried comforting the child as she pulled him into a gentle hug. She felt bad for making the boy sad admittedly she did not understand a word the boy said. He was clearly speaking a different language that much was certain.

Yoh sniffled while being hugged and gripped the hem of the woman's dress. The young shaman let out his inner frustrations in the mix of tears. This stupid Shaman's journey, all the burden weighing on his back, and then some. Tear after tear fell as the woman gently rubbed the locks of his brown hair in a motherly pattern.

When he finally stopped crying and his body stopped shaking he sighed pulling away from the woman's hold. He had not really seen the woman's face yet, though for some reason she smelled very familiar.

Maybe she used the same kind of shampoo his mom used.

"Little boy do you have any parents or someone watching over you?" She asked the boy sitting down on her knees to be eye level with him. She figured this would make the boy feel better and not strain the boy to keep his head tilted upwards to look at her. It was probably not wise to try and have a conversation with the boy, since they spoke different languages and he would not understand her.

"Yeah I have parents, but they are in Japan and my guardian is fighting a chimera," Yoh responded with a nod of his head. Yes, he could understand the woman thankfully, because of Matamune who gave him some of his Reikyrou; so hearing people speak in Italian would be heard to him in Japanese and vice-versa. Matamune told him it worked for other languages as well.

"Good, are your parents here somewhere in Italy? Maybe in a hotel?" She asked each question slowly hoping he could comprehend her. From what she could tell the boy could understand Italian words at least enough in her eyes. He shook his head twice in confirmation of no, which made a frown form on her face.

The sounds of gunshots drew louder in proximity were the gangs headed in this direction?

"No they are not here oww! What was that?" Yoh groaned clamping his hands over his ears. The young shaman had never heard such frightful sounds before in his life. It really hurt his ears remembering he had headphones he placed them on over his ears.

Ahh his headphones blocked out the horrible sound.

"Listen you have to leave come with me to my house," she was used to the sounds of gunfire for more than one reason. It was why she did not need to hold her ears at the ringing in her ear;s she extended her hand outwards to the boy in a friendly gesture not wanting him to get scared and run off.

Yoh could not hear nor make out the words she spoke, but the hand gesture was more than enough to agree. He shook his hand with her's and was surprised to feel spirits come out of the ground beneath the woman. These spirits were very dark in origin and they reminded Yoh of spirits he would find in Hell. Yoh took a tentative step back from the spirits and began to channel his furyoku not going to be taken by them.

Was this woman a shaman?

The woman at seeing Yoh back away ventured a guess as to why. This boy could see spirits just like her and she had to clear the situation before things got out of hand. She placed her palms outwards toward Yoh in a non-threatening manner and pointed to the spirits that were beside her. She did the gesture again to her and the spirits repeatedly so Yoh could understand, since his headphones were still on. She did not want to take off his headphones and the boy see it as taking his stuff.

It took a few minutes for Yoh to understand what she was doing and slowly nodded. He approached the woman again as she sighed glad he understood and gently pulled the boy into another hug. The dark spirits wrapped around the both of them surprising Yoh making him jump as she felt his furyoku spike the very warmth and life energy making her calm. Even the dark spirits felt life rejuvinate inside of their forms.

The woman continued to gently rub Yoh's hair in a calming manner so he would relax as the dark spirits continued to encircle them in a tornado of sorts. The sounds of gunfire finally reached their location as a gang of three saw the witch and what appeared to be a boy. Not wasting any time the gang members fired rounds at the woman not seeing the spirits.

The next thing they saw was that the witch and boy were gone their bullets had hit nothing, however that was not the strangest thing. What made the gang members jump was the fact that the bullets had somehow stopped in midair and turned around like the air itself was using the bullets. If the men could actually see what was happening, they would see that three wisps of dark spirits; had attached themselves to the bullets.

What happened next would be counted only as murder of gang violence in the morning newspaper.

Yoh after being enwrapped by the dark spirits and the hold of the woman he felt a strange frigid cold like he was dead again. When he opened his eyes Yoh was looking at a strange house it was a black colored brickhouse. The very aura of the house exhuberated coldness and Yoh shivered on the spot with the night air blowing through his kimono.

"Cold isn't it? This is my house don't worry nothing will hurt you I promise," the woman gently patted the boy's head brushing his headphones off his ears. She had moved them just enough so it would not fall off his ears.

Yoh shivered again man was it cold outside looking around the area. He saw that trees were all around them did the woman live in some sort of forest enviornment? Shaking off the cold Yoh followed the woman into her house. Once, he was inside of the house Yoh felt warmth seize his body like a fire so much better.

The woman giggled at seeing the boy's shoulders slacken and walked into her kitchen looking for something the two of them could eat. While the woman was doing that Yoh walked around the woman's house he saw dolls hung up on the wall, a bookcase filled with many different books, a fireplace which was heating up the living room. She even had dark green chairs, a black table, and a red couch near the fireplace. His eyes lingered toward the staircase feeling cold again, his breath could be visibly seen as he neared the staircase.

"I wouldn't go up there if I were you. You might get possessed," she giggled at seeing Yoh jump in place and turned around slowly to look at the woman who was cooking a meal of hot soup. He took in her features very carefully she looked very familiar to him.

The woman had dark blond hair that stopped at shoulder length, she had on a black Victorian dress that cut at kneelength it had streams of white mixed in at the hem of her dress. What really captivated Yoh was her shining green eyes it looked like her eyes could weave a story like a spiderweb. She didn't look that much older than his own mom.

"Well while the soup is getting ready, do you mind telling me your name? My name is Celia Phauna," she smiled at the young boy watching his eyebrows practically leap off his face. Was her name that much of a shock, sure she was a witch and got flak for it in the upper houses of Italy. It was harsh criticism for nothing her bloodline was full of witches and warlocks.

"Are you Marion's mother?!" Yoh questioned the woman she probably was not going to understand his words. At hearing the name of her daughter, Celia adopted a dark expression as the dolls on the walls of her home started trembling. The fire that burned in the kindling of the fireplace ignited brightly it was beginning to get cold in the living room.

Celia watched the boy shake on the spot in fear and had to mentally count in her head to five calming down. It was her fault in the first place that her daughter was suffering and being called a witch. The living room fell back into order as Yoh breathed a sigh of relief catching his breath did Celia do that?

"Sorry little boy," she aplogized walking back into the kitchen and retrieved the warm soup as she headed towards the table. Placing both bowls of soup down on the table with a spoon already in both bowls. Yoh walked toward the table his stomach grumbling from hunger the very smell of the soup hitting his nostrils. He was about to dig into the bowl when Celia stopped him from doing so by giving him a sweet smile hidden with dark intentions.

Yoh withdrew his hand from the spoon and looked at the older woman her smile vanishing as she clasped her hands together in a prayer. Yoh blushed in embarassment having forgot his manners and did the same both thanking their respective gods for the food.

When the two finished their prayer both dug into the delicious soup Yoh actually felt greedy wanting more from how good it tasted. He could taste different types of meat, vegetables like celery, cold carrots. And a bit of lettuce. Yoh wasn't a fan of carrots all that much, but something about it mixed with the soup made it digestable and actually great.

Both Celia and Yoh finished the soup around the same time Yoh's eyes practically sparking in delight his furyoku coming off in waves. Which caused the dolls in her house to shake along with the house his warm furyoku had made the spirits in the house happy. Celia herself was actually happy about how nice his furyoku was and closed her eyes remembering the past.

"Could I have more please?" Yoh asked Celia holding out his bowl towards her giving her a cute look only a child could give. Celia smiled at seeing his cute expression and flicked his nose gently with her index finger and thumb causing him to chuckle as she took the bowl. When Celia returned the kitchen she opened up one of the cabinets and bit back a sorrowful sigh one can of soup left. Initially, she had seven cans of soup one for each day of the week. She rubbed her index finger against the can in a circular manner thinking hard on what to do.

It was either go hungry tommorow for herself or feed the boy so he could be full. In the end it was a very simple decision. Celia grabbed the bowl of soup and closed the cabinet preparing to make another can of soup for the boy.

Matamune breathed in and out harshly his katana was covered in blood as his fur was caked in red. His free hand was gripping his right side blood pooling from the wound spirits, while they could not be harmed by humans and their weaponry. Spirit could be harmed by other spirits or Shamans who were strong enough to oppose them. True, they would not bleed out like humans, but for spirits who were Seirei class and higher who were weakened enough; could be sent to the afterlife or subjugated by other kinds of shamans.

"You know you are one ugly beast," Matamune coughed his slitted eyes stared at the deceased Chimera with blood leaking out of its head. It had died instantly when the katana had pierced through its skull and was about to begin the process of going to the great spirit. Its body glowed a pure white before chunks of its body disolved one by one. Matamune did not want to meet the great spirit yet, he still had time left and would do all in his power to stay.

When the chimera finished dissolving into a mass of white particles that went up into the night sky, Matamune slid his back down the cold brick wall. Taking a moment to compose himself the guardian cat transformed his katana back into a pipe and brought it up to his lips. He took a few puffs from the pipe slowly closing his eyes as old memories stirred.

Snow covered over a cardboard box where a small brown cat lived trying to keep himself warm. The cat despised the snow and the cold it brought every year to its home. The cat only enjoyed the refreshing summer rather than this depressing cold. A growling noise shook the very cardboard box causing the cat to jump up in alertness. The cat cautiously peered his head out of the box and was met face to face with a snarling dog.

The dog barked in a threatening manner having seeked this cardboard box for warmth, and would not allow a cat to keep the box to himself. The cat hissed at the dog going to answer the challenge the dog presented. The cardboard box was only fit for one animal and this cat was not going to be beaten by a dumb dog. Coming out of the safety of his home the cat continued to hiss in warning to the dog.

This was the cat's home not fit for a canine of the retriever breed. Both animals circled around the other in the cold snow neither wanted to lose. The retriever made the first move by pouncing on to the cat using the superior weight it had to pin the cat down underneath it. The cat struggled underneath the retriever scratching its sharp claws into the belly of the dog.

The retriever howled at the pain of the claws tearing across its skin. The dog released the cat shortly afterwards as blood gushed from the dog's belly it was weak from hunger. The cat not wasting the opportunity slammed himself into the cat and bit into its neck hard. The dog howled more in pain trying to remove the cat, but failed. A few struggling minutes passed before the cat released the dog and coughed shivering in the cold snow.

The cat had won the battle and looked toward its cardboard box hearing a light purr inside of his home. Walking into its home the cat was greeted by a purring snow white kitten, which had made itself comfortable in his space. The cat beared its sharp bloody teeth in a threatening manner at the kitten demanding it to leave.

The kitten merely swished its snow white tail behind it rather bored by the male cat's display. Yes it was mildly entertaining to see the male cat beat the retriever, but overall the male cat was still weak compared to her. The female snow white kitten wagged her tail not afraid of the male cat daring it to fight her if it could.

The male cat continued to shiver from still being cold, and the female kitten took note of that as she stood from her crouched position. With graceful movement for only of its species she went over to the beat up male cat and if she had a human face; a smirk would be on her face. The male cat hissed in challenge raising a paw about to attack the cat before being caught off guard by what the female kitten did next.

The female had licked his bloody cheek cleaning the male cat off of the blood, plus the male was rather smelly and needed a bat. The male should be thankful that the female kitten of such a high pedigry would even do this for such a commoner. The male cat sighed for the time being going to deal with the female.

Matamune chuckled to himself at his old memory while continuing to smoke from his pipe. Embracing the cold night air as he opened his eyes looking up at the bright crescent moon. Depositing his pipe back into the safety of his haori; the guardian cat tried standing up on his feet, but fell flat on his face. It was still weak after that battle with the chimera over an hour ago.

"You know for such a resilent cat like yourself, I'm beginning to think your losing a lot of strength," a familiar voice reached Matamune's ears making his twin tails stand on end. Turning around in the direction of the voice it was none other than Hao who looked pleased to see his favorite cat again. Hao walked up to his old friend and picked the spirit up in his arms Matamune instantly relaxing in the hold of his old master.

"Hao-san what are you doing here?" Matamune questioned his old master very surprised to see him again so soon.

"Matamune it's rather easy to figure out you of all people should know my plans. I am here to gain more followers and i've heard some rather interesting rumors here in Italy. Above of all that how is the progession of my weaker half doing?" Hao answered Matamune's question while rubbing the cat's ears in a way only he knew. Matamune looked away as he began to purr hating his old weakness only his old master would exploit.

"Y-Yoh is doing well, though we have gotten separated at the moment. I will find master Yoh," Matamune stated with urgency and squirmed in Hao's arms needing to find the boy. Hao kept the cat from leaving by holding Matamune tenderly in his arms, as he continued on his walk in no specific direction. The boy continued to pet his favorite cat like nothing was wrong.

Hao did miss his favorite cat and dear friend so he was going to be selfish and keep Matamune for himself for the time being. "Good, I do need for my weaker half to get stronger. By the way Matamune what brings you two all the way to Italy?" the boy asked a rhtorical question he already knew the answer by reading Matamune's mind.

Matamune did not answer, it wasn't exactly a secret that his old master could read minds. His old master still had an affliction of the heart that was not going to mend anytime soon.

The wise shaman smiled down at his favorite cat which honestly made Matamune nervous. Matamune knew his master for a very long time and his smiles were rarely sincere most of those smiles promised pain. Hao stopped walking the cold night air whipping through his poncho he felt a disturbance nearby. A gang of ten had been following the strange boy under orders of their boss.

"Matamune for the time being you and I are going to be sticking together. You are not going to fight me on this my friend, because you are getting weaker and I need to make you stable," Hao stated as the air around him began to burn and heat up with intensity flames circled around him in the shape of Spirit of Fire. Matamune gritted his teeth knowing that his own body had been getting weaker ever since he got out of Hell.

"Boy don't you know it's dangerous at night," one of the gang members sneered pointing his gun at the boy. Orders were to capture the boy and take him to the boss for questioning. Hao's smile only grew at the puny insects that dared to challenge his might. These humans would pay for crossing his path only bones would remain of them.

"Yes it is quite dangerous for you," Hao replied to the gang men in perfect italian smiling in their direction while continuing to pet behind the ears of Matamune. Eliciting soft purrs from the cat spirit whom hated the fact he was purring and not warning these humans to leave.

One of the gang men grew irritated by the way the boy spoke to them and walked up to the boy gripping his poncho. He raised the boy off his feet to stare directly into his cold black eyes rubbing the barrel of his silver revolver against Hao's forehead. "Boy if you don't shut up, I will kill you like all the other people i've killed."

Hao sardonically chuckled the sound of the boy's laughter was hollow like a demon was in place of the boy. It actually made the men in the back gulped as they fanned themselves was it getting hotter tonight?

"100,000 you've reached my list of humans i've killed over the course of 1000 years," Hao smirked as the man that was holding him had to blink was the kid insane? That was the last thought the man ever had as his body spontaniously combusted to the gang members who had watched the exhange. In reality Hao had made the Spirit of fire press its finger through the man's stomach and burn him from the inside out instantly.

Hao landed on his feet with a solid thud of his red armored boots and laughed not of happiness, but of sheer desire to kill these patethic humans. The gang members pointed their revolvers at the boy and fired bullet after bullet at the demonic child. When all they heard left was just the sounds of an empty chamber they breathed in a heavy sigh of relief.

What couldn't guns solve?

"Mmm... i'm feeling like spaghetti tonight," Hao licked his lips making a joke at their expense as the gang members tried running away from the boy, but they did not get far as a ring of fire had blocked off their entire exit. "Time to eat Spirit of Fire remember to devour them all," was the last words the gang members heard before their bodies were reduced to charred bones.

The gang members who had been turned to ghosts after their death could finally make out the harbinger of demise. It was beyond massive this fiery monster towered way above the boy as its mouth widen bellowing a loud roar into the night sky.

The spirit of Fire grabbed their souls one by one devouring them with no regard as their screams only helped to fill the massive spirit's hunger. When all was said and done, Hao dispersed the ring of fire and looked down at Matamune, who had watched the display with a passive expression on his face.

"Come on Matamune the night is still young and the Spirit of Fire is still hungry," Hao smiled inhaling the smell of charred bones with a sickening sweet smile. The Spirit of fire roared in agreement. Matamune looked up into his old master eyes only seeing destruction and pure hatred for all humans.

Tonight was not going to be pleasant for the guardian cat and hoped that Yoh was alright.

Separation for respective guardian and Shaman. What does Hao have planned for Matamune and what is Hao's real agenda for Italy? Yoh has met the mother of Marion. In the manga Marion's parents are only heard of and never seen so I am putting my own thoughts on whom they are. Think of it like a mystery for you guys to figure out what will happen.
