SPOV
I missed my Mommy and Daddy. They had be at a dinner party the night they were killed and mommy had hired her friend Courtney to babysit me. I wasn't happy they had gone out and had spent most of the night pouting in my room while Auntie Courtney was 'talking' with her guy friend. I had heard Courtney's phone go off and then I heard her calling for me, I walked out of my room to find her putting on her shoes, she told me to put my shoes. When she pulled up to the hospital I knew something was wrong.
I was even more upset that they had gone out now, if they had just stayed home then they would still be here. When the doctor had told Courtney that Mommy and Daddy didn't make it she started crying. We sat in the waiting room for a while while she cried and once she pulled herself together she grabbed my hand, hard, and dragged me outside.
"You little brat, this is all your fault, if it wasn't for you they wouldn't have been in a hurry to get home!" Courtney yelled and then pushed me to the ground before running away, leaving me there. I got up and walked over to the bench and curled into a ball. Tears started forming in my eyes and falling down my face. Now I had no one, everyone left me.
After what felt like hours a man came out of the hospital. He noticed me sitting on the bench and walked over to me. I flinched away from him, Daddy had told me not to talk to strangers if there wasn't an adult around. He kneeled down in front of me and I curled into a tighter ball.
"Hey there little one," He said. I whimpered and curled tighter into myself, he sighed. "I'm a doctor from the hospital," he said showing me his hospital badge. I relaxed a little bit, knowing he wasn't going to hurt me."Can you tell me your name?".
"Samantha," I whispered softly, it was then that I remembered why I was sitting on this bench. "I have no where to go,". Tears pooled in my eyes once again.
"Samantha can you come inside with me, I'll get you a snack and we can call someone to come and pick you up," The doctor said. He asked me some more questions as we walked into the hospital. We walked into another room where there was a tv, couch and a full kitchen. There had been another doctor in the room so I hid behind Dr. Cullen. Dr. Cullen started talking to the other doctor, he said something about calling the police, and then the other doctor left, I relaxed a little again and then Dr. Cullen had given me a snack. We had just sat on the couch silently and then two men dressed in police uniforms came into the room. They took me to the police station and asked me a bunch of questions, like where was Courtney, if I had anymore family I could stay with, who gave me the now dark purple bruises on my arm. I didn't want to answer any of the questions without Dr. Cullen there, he was the only person I had and they took him away from me.
They had given up on me when I did answer them and then they sent me with some lady. I kept asking her where Dr. Cullen was, but she has told me that she didn't know where he was, this caused me to cry and throw a tantrum which caused me to be put in time out in a bedroom for the rest of the night. I didn't get any sleep that night and when I was aloud to get breakfast I kept asking the lady where Dr. Cullen was. She finally told me she'd take me to him after breakfast, I was happy about that and when we pulled up to the police station in the big van I practically ran into the station.
The woman was talking to the police officer and they started arguing about me. I just sat there and listen to them, when I notice Dr. Cullen walk in, I ran to him and wrapped my arms around his leg.
"Child get off that man's leg this instant," The woman said when she saw me wrapped around Dr. Cullen. I gripped him tighter. The police officer said something to Dr. Cullen and when he was going to take a step to walk I whimpered. "Oh for heaven's sake child let go of the man before you cause him to fall," The woman barked. I flinched at the sound of her voice but let go of his leg anyway. Dr. Cullen walked into another room while the woman and the officer argued again. I just grabbed my doll that the police officer had given me when he given the woman a suitcase from my house. I knew it was mine because I had seen Daddy use it when he went away on trips.
I heard a door slam and looked up to see the officer stunned and looking at the door, the mean woman no where to be seen. He looked at me and then back to the door and back to me. I shrugged and he sighed.
"Guess I have some calls to make now huh kid," He said to me, I just looked down at my doll and started talking to her.
"I hope I get to go with Dr. Cullen, I don't want to be sent away with another stranger," I said quietly and hugged it. I hadn't notice Dr. Cullen had come out of the room till he was sitting beside me. "Doctor?" I ask quietly. He looked down at me. "Where am I going to go now?".
"Well..uh...you are going to...uh...come stay with me and my wife for a while," He said awkwardly. I cheered happily on the inside and a short while later I was going home with Dr. Cullen.
