Hi guys, I wanted to apologize because of updating this late. School is a bitch with me which kept me busy lately. But well, I'm not going to bore you all, I'm just going to let you know that I'm not giving up on this story yet!

Whatever, let's just begin with this chapter!

Ch. 4 Peculiar shopping

After the end of this day at school you walked back home with Marcus while you both chatted about the classes. "So, how was your chemistry exam?" He asked.

"I think I did it pretty well, it was kinda hard though" You conceded.

"I guess I can't say the same…" He said devastated "That class is boring as hell!"

"Sure it is man" You nodded.

You both didn't say a word for the following minutes until Marcus asked again "So what is the costume you're going to put on?". You looked at him confused, what was he talking about?

"Uh? What costume?"

"Didn't you know it? This Friday our class will arrange a costume party! Didn't you hear our class representative when he said it?"

"Uh… No, today I've been a little… unfocused, so to speak"

"Well, it doesn't matter. Are you coming?" He asked curious. You considered it (A costume party uh? Why not? It could be fun) Then you nodded "Sure! I'll come!"

Marcus smiled openly "Good! I'm going to dress up as a cowboy, and you?"

"Hey, give me a break; I realize that there was a party just now"

"Okay then. Well, now I need to go home. See ya tomorrow!" He said as he walked away.

"I'm back!" You yelled from the door as you closed it behind you. You saw the princess walking at you smiling just as she heard you.

"Welcome back (Y/N)" She bowed politely "How was your day?"

"Good, I just had an exam today. They're not as hard as to think on a good battlefield strategy, but close" You clarified so she could understand.

"I'm glad. I've been just wandering around and trying to find out how these things work" She said pointing at every electric device such as the TV, the computer etc… "I realized that I'm far from getting used here, but I don't care how much time we waste, I'm going to learn everything I need" She said with confidence. You smiled at her tenacity and perseverance.

"And I'm going to teach you everything you need. But not today, today we're going out!" You said joyfully. But it seems that you caught her by surprise.

"S-So soon?! Shouldn't we wait a little longer?"

"Why? You came today at school all by yourself. Sure, you may have gotten yourself lost various times but you could make it" You said.

Lucina sighed "You're right… It's just that I wasn't feeling ready"

You put your hand on her shoulder as you calmed her "Don't worry, just stay close to me and ask me whatever you want. You'll do fine!" You winked at her as she smiled a little.

"However, you'll need to take off some clothes first" You said as she blushed and looked angrily at you "No! No! I wasn't meaning that! It's just that your clothes could seem a little… old for people around here"

She was still looking at you angrily, but she sighed and nodded "I understand… What should I take off?"

"Hmm… First of all, the cape" You said as she took off the chosen garment. As you looked at her tiara, you considered the situation (Well, I think she can keep her tiara. There are still some girls that wear headbands so it's okay) And then, you pointed at the obvious thing "And of course… the sword"

Lucina seemed reluctant at first, she didn't want to take it off. You looked at her eyes and you saw one thing: Pain.

"Lucina…" You started softly which made her to look at you "I know that you didn't have an easy life. It's true that this change may be hard; coming from being in a constant warning and one hand on your blade… to not needing it at all? Sounds amazing, right?" Lucina stared at you motionless "Due to your previous way of living you're now cautious and you mistrust everything and everyone… but there's someone who you can believe"

Lucina looked at you stunned before barely asking "Who…?"

You brought your hand to your chest "Me…" Lucina frowned. She was already trusting in you… Why would you need to clarify her that? "Believe me, here you won't need your sword anymore. You don't need to fight every day every moment. I can tell, and you will to… if you believe in me" Lucina started to understand (He's right… I already decided to rely on him, but I need to trust him fully to achieve that… It's going to be hard, but I'll leave it to him)

"Besides…" You said interrupting her inner speech "You know that I'll be here to protect you if you need me okay?" You asked her nicely. She couldn't help but to smile and give you her Falchion gladly.

"Well… How do I look?" Lucina asked shyly.

"It's still looks awkward… but I think that should do! Let's get going!" You said as you walked again to the door followed by Lucina.

After you both arrived at the shopping center, Lucina couldn't mutter a word. She was so amazed by this large building "Wow… And I thought Ylisse's market was too big… This place is huge!" She conceded with her eyes wide open as she looked at every shop and everything displayed on the store window.

"You bet! After all, this place doesn't sell just food and clothes. There are lots of shops that sell lots of different things! I'm sure you'll love to come here more often when you get used to this" You said.

"What are those things?" Lucina asked as she walked near a store window. There were little things like cameras, binoculars, guitars or keyboards. "There are so many things here…"

"Do you see something that picks your interest?" You asked her.

She looked closely to the camera as she pointed at it "What is that?"

"That's a camera Lucina. Hmm…" You grabbed your chin as you thought about how you should explain how it worked properly so she could understand it perfectly "Lucina, have you ever saw something so beautiful that you just wished that could stare at it forever?"

"Yes… Yes, I have… Sometimes the sunrise is simply gorgeous… It's a pity that it can't last forever…" She said gloomy.

"Well, this little thing does it for you!" You said as she looked at you curiously. What did you mean? You clarified it to her "You see, this thing can also 'see' so to speak. I know it sounds ridiculous; how can an inanimate object see? But trust me, it does. However, this camera can do something… special with whatever it 'sees'"

Lucina was now more curious about what the camera could do "And… And what can it do…?"

"It can keep what it sees so we can look at it as many times as we want" You said as she widened ever more her eyes. She couldn't believe it, that little thing could keep visual pictures?

"So… does that mean that if I use the camera to see the sunrise… it will keep that picture?"

"And you will be able to watch at it again and again…" You finished your explanation. Lucina looked at the camera now with confidence and extreme interest. "You want to buy it?" You asked her.

"I wish… I have a few coins in my pocket but I assume that this country works with another currency" She said a little sad.

"Don't worry about that, I'll buy it for you"

But it looks that Lucina isn't content with this solution "No! Don't worry about it! You don't have to buy it, really…"

"Why not? You seem greatly interested on it and I don't have any problems to buy it"

"Yes, I'm sure but… I don't feel right with it… If you do that I would feel that I'm debt with you, and I'm not sure how to repay your kindness" She said nervously.

"Easy, you don't have to" You said "You don't need to repay me, really. I already told you yesterday night; if you need something just tell me, don't worry about repaying me. Now let's go and buy that camera"

After you bought the device, you gave the device to Lucina "So… how it works?"

"Right now it's not working. You have to… 'wake it up' by pushing this button right here" You said as you turned on the camera. Lucina looked at everything you did so she could do it by herself next time "Now if you look here you will be able to see what this is seeing, got it?" Lucina nodded as she understood perfectly.

Then, you pointed at her with the camera "Now… smile!" Lucina didn't understand at first but she just smiled and waited patiently. "There! Now you will see yourself smiling as many times as you want!" You said as you lend her the camera with the previous picture you took.

Lucina couldn't believe what she was looking… This device was showing her face! (I can't believe it… This is… me!)

"Also, it has a really good memory, so you can take as many pictures as you want. It will keep them all" You reassured her. She grabbed her new present tightly as she smiled at you and bowed at you again (I can't wait to use this…!)

"So… where are we going now?" Lucina said with a slight high pitched voice by her excitement.

"First we need to buy you some new clothes, and then we'll go to buy some food"

"Great! Let's go!" She said with excitement as she ran away somewhere.

"Hey! Do you know where you're going?" You yelled. She walked again to you.

"I'm sorry… I guess I lost it for a second… Heh" She laughed nervously as she stroked the back of her head.

"It's okay. Let's go"

You eventually arrived at a clothes shop. Lucina noticed the puzzled looks on people's face when they saw her. She could understand why, those people's clothes were different from hers; she seemed out of the place somehow.

She snapped when she heard you talking to her "See something you like?"

The princess looked at all the clothes she had in front of her. She always dreamt about going out shopping with her mother once the war ended… She never expected to do it in a whole different world, but this would work right?

She started to slowly pick up what picked her interest, but there weren't really clever chooses. The clothes were either too big or too small, not to mention that they had really horrible color patterns "Uh… Lucina, do you really want to buy that?" You were really indifferent when it comes to clothes but even you could tell that those clothes were just… horrible.

"Why do you ask? I like them! They seem very pretty! Your country really makes gorgeous clothes!" She stated happily.

You sighed "Lucina, don't you think that is just too colorful, considering your current clothing? I mean, will you really wear that every day?"

Lucina thought about it for a second; she concluded that you were right (Hmm… that's true… Maybe this is too flashy for my tastes… Okay, I'll try to keep this simple…) Then, she started to pick other garments. Now she was picking something more simple and yet so suitable.

She picked up a pair of tight blue jeans, black trainers and a short sleeved white T-shirt with a cute flower pattern across the bottom part of the T-shirt. "That's much better!" You complimented her. She giggled lowly at you. "By the way, there're some women-undergarments over there if you wanted to try them too. I'll wait here if you don't want me to look" You said.

She nodded as she walked alone to the women-underwear part. She was quite impressed about the clothing, especially about the bras. Back in her world, bras were a little uncouth and poorly done, like if it doesn't matter what it does. But here it seems that bras were made with care, most of them were also adorned and puffy. Lucina frowned a little, she didn't know what to think about this fact (Is this some kind of excuse for lewd men?)

She decided to ignore it and just pick up the garments, then she approached to you again "I'm done!" She said joyfully "Where do I change myself?"

"Follow me, changing rooms are over there" You said as you walked to the said place. Lucina closed the curtain as she started to undress herself to change her clothes. She obviously put on the underwear first and she saw how she looked on the mirror (Wow… It's just beautiful… They sure do these things really fancy! They are very comfy too…)

Later, once she was done, she looked at herself again in the mirror. She was surprised at her own look (Holy Naga… I love these clothes! They're simple, cute and comfy… They aren't appropriate for the battlefield but that doesn't matter anymore. I've decided! I'll buy these!)

"Everything's okay in there Lucina?" You asked at the other side of the curtain.

"Yes! Everything's fine, I've just ended up changing myself" She said excited.

"Can I have a look?" You asked casually. But Lucina was stunned about this as a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.

"Su-Sure…" She said as she opened slowly the curtain "So… What do you think…?" She said as she made a few spins so you could see the back of her clothing. You hadn't words to describe it, she was indeed pretty with these clothes. After all… Lucina with modern clothes? That was something you surely would pay to see!

"Lucina… It's so gorgeous…" You said unconsciously, which made Lucina's blush redder. Seconds later you also noticed what you said as you blushed too.

"So… should I buy it?" Lucina asked timidly.

"Totally! It looks pretty good on you!" You complimented her. She smiled slightly as she closed the curtain to change again into her previous outfit.

Minutes later, Lucina was carrying a couple of bags which contained her new clothes and she couldn't wait to come back home and try them for the first time. You noticed her joy as you asked "You seem really happy about this!"

"You could bet! For the first time in my whole life I did something… normal… Something a normal girl would do! You don't know how happy I am right now! This place is just marvelous! I want to stay here forever!" She said with extreme joy and excitement as she let out a few tears flow down her cheeks. She deserved now to cry a little; she finally could achieve what she desperately wanted: Freedom and peace…

You couldn't resist the urge to hug her "I'm glad you feel that way… Now it's official: Welcome and enjoy your stay!" You said happily. She hugged you back as she giggled warmly.

"I'm sure I will… And I'll make sure that I would never leave this amazing world…" She said warmly as she rested her head on your shoulder.

Oh god… This chapter took forever to make… Sorry again for this really late uploading, school stuff and all that…

I hope you enjoy this chapter! We saw Lucina on her first time at modern shopping centers! Also, in FE:A I found hilarious her horrible taste for clothes on her support conversations with her mother xD, so I decided to include that here! I hope it felt like her, if you sometime notice that she doesn't behave quite exactly like in her game, please tell me. I want her character to stay as true as possible.
