Growing Up

The sun shone haphazardly on the small farming community that housed but a few of the numerous nomads which lived within the stunted lands of Yubokumin no kuni. The luscious bounty that grew within the fields seemed to light up with appreciation as it absorbed the plentiful rays of the sun, while the rivers and streams which flowed through the village glistened a marvellous azure blue as the sun rays danced across the surface and illuminated the veins which kept the fields and crops alive. All over you could see the people enjoying the vast sunlight which had by now engulfed the village, families were enjoying nice picnics amidst the chaos of busy farm hands and bustling workers, while the young played in the fields and streams without a care in the world. It seemed almost as if the nameless farming village was a paradise on earth amidst the overly populated and down run land of Yubokumin no kuni.

That was to all but eight of the villages inhabitants as in one of the many hidden groves that surrounded the village stood a lone five-year old as six boys three or four years his senior crowded around him in what they thought was a menacing manner, while his friend just stood off to the side waiting for him to get it over with.

He found it humorous how often bullies would seek to attack his friends, despite the reputation he had for sending each and everyone to hospital as soon as they mentioned a certain topic. He used to wonder why they would only ever attack his friend while making sure to avoid him despite the fact that out of the two of them his friend was obviously the more dangerous one, maybe he would still be pondering it to this day if his dad had not explained it to him.

Clans.

That's what it all came down too. He belonged to one of the many clans that had been exiled to Yubokumin no kuni since all the other countries and their ninja villages assumed that with no economy or ruler they were a bunch of savages that would sooner kill one another before eating them than resort to working together. What a foolish notion, but since all villages made sure to avoid coming into Yubokumin no kuni at all cost they would never realise that the land was rich and the people hardy and friendly meaning that anyone who was sent here flourished instead of being torn apart by savages like they thought. However, since members of clans were sent here at different times they never usually lived in a tight group but in the last few decades the ninja clans exiled and their descendants had started grouping together and living in villages or communities where all the members were in close contact with one another.

That was the reason why the boys never attacked him and instead went after the more dangerous of the pair because they assumed he had no clan to back him like he himself would.

'What fools, I still do not see how they can be so blind as to not see the traits and Markings that Naruto has of his clan.' It simply baffled him how they missed it since it only took the bullies one look to recognise he belonged to a clan and then another one to realise which clan. In hindsight he supposed it wasn't really that difficult to recognise he belonged to a clan since his state of dress was an obvious give away, as despite it being mid summer he, like the rest of his clan, was dressed in a cobalt-blue jacket with a high upturned collar, a pair of black shinobi pants and a pair of sandals which perfectly matched his jacket. That along with his sandy-brown hair and narrow eyes, not that you could see them since he wore a pair of dark sunglasses, sent warning bells to those who wished to face the wrath of a clan.

However, he still thought that Naruto's clan markings were more than obvious than his own, and while true his father did say that it only applied to people who had knowledge of his clan before hand but to him it just seemed so obvious. The signature red dots above the eyes, the long silver hair, the green eyes, the way he moved with such grace and elegance befitting a king despite the harshness of his actions it was all there.

'Sometimes people can be so illogical.'

While the boy in the shades pondered how blind some people could be Naruto had his green eyes transfixed on the six older, and larger, boys that stood before him quietly accessing them to if they posed even the slightest of threats to him. After a minute or so of searching, while simultaneously blocking out their juvenile attempts to anger him, he deemed them no threat and relaxed his tense posture before actually focusing on what the six children looked like instead of just whether or not it looked like they would provide a good fight or not.

The two to the right of him were a set of identical twins and from the look of them they were the lackeys of the group, they were almost completely bland having some of the most generic features possible. Their brown hair and brown eyes were the colour of chestnut and besides that they had almost no other interesting features besides a few freckles, even their clothing was bland as it was a simple black t-shirt and a pair of plain black trousers with matching sandals. It was almost a pity how much they blended in with each other and the background.

Naruto could only assume that the boy stood next to them was the muscle since he was by far the tallest boy their by a good foot or two, not to mention the vacant look in his eyes just seemed to scream lack of intelligence. Unlike the two stood to his left the large boy actually had some quite memorable features, his shaven head, bulbous nose and crooked teeth were all quite remarkable, just not as much as his clothes. With a bright green t-shirt and a pair of yellow shorts being his only clothing since he was bare foot he was a lot more eye-catching that his friends.

The two boys to the right how ever confused Naruto greatly since they didn't look like the type of people to be involved with a group of delinquents like the rest of the boys he was fighting. They were what his grandfather would call "Pretty boys" since their pale skin and wiry frames meant that they spent little to no time helping their parents out in the fields instead probably preferring to spend their time indoors and away from the sunlight, only going out in order to attend social events. Although it was clear that the two of them were in no way related it was strange how much they looked alike; with both of them having curly dark hair and dark beady eyes it was as if they were brothers, the only difference between them being their clothes and a few facial blemishes.

The one farthest to Narutos left was dressed in a black long-sleeved shirt which came down to just above his navel with a pair of matching black trousers and what seemed to be a pair of newly polished boots if the absence of any dirt or marks was something to go by.

The boy stood next to him was more sensibly dressed as he was wearing a plain white t-shirt, which almost matched the colour of his skin, and a pair of brown shorts that just went below his knees. For some reason unknown to Naruto the boy had decided that he should forgo any footwear and instead stood in the middle of the tree grove bare foot showing the signs of slight scaring, no doubt from cutting his feet on something sharp.

The final boy, who was no doubt the leader of this little group of thugs since he seemed to be doing the doing the talking, seemed as if he actually had some fight in him even if he was a civilian. His face and arms were littered with scrapes and bruises sure-fire signs that he had been on the receiving end of quite a few beatings himself, that and the crooked nose spoke volumes about the types of hits he took. The longer Naruto looked the easier it became for him to categorise the boy; his sandals were so thickly caked in mud that it was impossible to distinguish the actual colour of them, which meant he helped working the more dirty farming jobs such as pig herding. His blue shorts and red t-shirt were thoroughly worn from wear and tear which meant they were either handed down from an older member of his family or his family were unable or unwilling to trade their goods for new ones. Getting a better look at him Naruto managed to connect the dots easily enough, he had sky blue eyes and jet black hair, the same colour as a few of his teeth, that coupled with his slightly chubby frame meant he could only belong to one family within the entire of their little community.

The Butabuta's

The Butabuta family were the lowest wrung of society by anyone's standards. Originally from the land of earth the Butabuta family used to be a big time yakuza family that dealt in anything and everything that brought in money from the other side of the law, this meant that they were involved in everything from human trafficking to extortion. Eventually they got so bad that the earth daimyo had to step and put a stop to them since their reputation had started ruining diplomatic relations with other countries, not to mention that rival yakuza families had started small-scale wars in certain villages where the Butabuta family had a strong presence. The earth daimyo had been swift in taking out the Butabuta family, he ordered platoons of to infiltrate their ranks in order to take the family down from the inside. It had been quick and bloody but in less than a single night the Butabuta family had been reduced to nothing more than the fourth born son of the of the families leader, once he was captured and jailed the earth daimyo sent him into exile as a show of good faith to the system and it seemed that even now generations on the Butabuta family were still trying to rule the underworld.

Naruto could just feel the headache coming on from the group in front of him.

"So this is the so-called bloody prince of nomads, it seems the stories about you were greatly exaggerated." The statement just caused Naruto to develop to develop a heavy eye twitch as he listened to the slimy voice of the chubby boy in front of him. He hated the moniker "the bloody prince of nomads" it was just a title that his friend Viper had given him when he had broken another kids nose in a fight over something or other. Bullies always used to make fun of him since they all assumed he was weak since he looked more effeminate than some of the others who lived on the farms.

"Haha yeah boss he looks like a girl." drawled out the tallest boy.

'God even his voice sounds stupid. Why can't somebody with more than half a brain ever come to challenge me for once?'

"I don't see what the big fuss is about boss, there is no way that this little kid can be the bloody prince." Naruto by this point couldn't care what they had to say so he just closed his eyes and waited for them to finish flapping their gums at each other.

"Yeah boss, I mean he's what five? I doubt this little shrimp could even hurt a fly and the bloody prince is supposed to be like super badass since he's beat up like half of the kids living here so how the hell can it be him."

"Yeaaah boss."

"Now, now boys remember what I told you. When it comes to people like him looks can be deceiving."

"But boss, if he is the bloody prince how are we going to be able to beat him? I mean he beat up kids even older than us."

"Simple we're going to do the one thing that nobody else has done when they've fought him, we're going to work together."

'Psht what do these buffoons take me for!?' It annoyed Naruto to no end how people always thought that despite the fact they had no training and they had never been in a real fight before, the fact that their was more than one of them automatically meant they would win.

"Umm are you sure boss?"

"Yes I'm sure, I'm the next head of the Butabuta family and you guys are my henchman right?"

"Yes boss."

"Then that means that were unstoppable and we can do whatever we like."

"But boss what about his family? If he is anywhere as near as strong as everyone says then won't he have some super strong family who'll get back at us for beating him up?"

"Nah the only things he's got is too old kooky grandparents."

"What about his parents?"

"What parents? He's just son of some dead whor..." Unfortunately the youngest son of the Butabuta family was unable to complete he sentence as a small fist slammed into his mouth causing the his head to snap backwards sharply while an audible crack could be heard indicating that some of the chubby boys teeth had been broken. The unlikely henchman could only watch as their beloved boss tumbled backwards in what seemed like slow motion and then before they even had time to speak out Naruto was upon him in a silver flash, straddling the young Butabuta and unleashing a barrage of heavy blows that caused the young boys face to sink inwards while what ever teeth he had left were forced out of his mouth in an explosion of blood and spit.

Eventually the five boys stood watching were broken out of their stupor by a strained gurgle that managed to escaped the blood filled throat of their leader, acting quickly the two black clad pretty boys rushed forwards in a naïve attempt to push Naruto off of their exalted leader however before their arms could make contact with the furious boy who was assaulting their boss, four razor sharp and wicked looking bones sprouted from Naruto's shoulders before stabbing impaling themselves in the hands of his would be aggressors.

"AHHHHHHHHH!" The two boys couldn't stop the twin screams that escaped from their throats in unison, the pain from having there hands impaled and the sight of copious amounts of blood and flesh spilling from the wound sent their little minds into shock. Their rather loud and abrasive shouts, while useless, were enough to attract Naruto's attention from the half dead and bloody body of the Butabuta family's youngest son and give him a new target to take his anger out on.

Unknown to both Naruto and the poor boys whom Naruto was taking his anger out on Kakushitsu stood upside down on a branch inside the clearing carefully observing his grandson as he systematically tore apart his, for lack of a better word, opponents.

"Chh damn kids a natural, no wonder he felt confident enough to miss his first ninja training session." while it may have seemed like insane ramblings to anyone without previous knowledge of Naruto's life, to him it made complete sense. He knew that Naruto had not been taught so much as to throw a punch correctly let alone the correct stances or forms for a particular taijutsu stances, yet looking at him he was nothing but the personification of perfection as he nimbly flowed from move to move as he viciously attacked his opponents in what could only be described as a beautiful dance of death.

It was beyond believable he seemed to be so posed and relaxed despite the fact he was overpowering boys almost twice his age and size with such ease that he was able to dance in between the sloppy hits thrown at him before striking with such brutal accuracy and efficiency that it was almost inhumane to allow him to continue pulverizing the boys in front of him since they barely resembled the boys they once were, instead looking like nothing more than bloody lumps of flesh.

"Tch well seems the little shits going to be doing theoretical work for today since I'm going to have to deal with those little shits parents complain about their kids being half dead." And in a swirl of sand Kakushitsu was gone with no one else any the wiser he had been there to begin with.

Meanwhile the boy in the shades that had been stood watching Naruto ruthlessly decimate the unfortunate boys who had decided to corner him had a small frown marring his face. He just couldn't understand it, he knew Naruto had always been strong but seeing him so easily destroy those fools made him think. What would he do with that power? It was obvious to him Naruto would only get stronger and he would have the power to do things that most people could only dream of but he just found it hard to imagine himself in Naruto's shoes. If he that kind of power he had no idea what he would do and that to him just seemed so illogical to him but the possibilities were almost endless and it made him want to know Naruto's plans for the future just to satisfy his own curiosity.

"Oi Mitsubachi you there?"

The glasses wearing boy head snapped upwards with a startled expression almost being visible behind his large amounts of facial protection before he replied with a somewhat shaken voice. "Huh what?"

Naruto just look at him disapprovingly "You spaced out for like five minutes."

"Sorry I was deep in my own thoughts about something or other." Naruto knew a dismissal when he heard one, his grandfather always gave him one when he asked how he was able to use sand, so he just shrugged before he replied non committedly.

"Yeah well we should probably go and meet Viper and Kegawa now because if anyone comes here we're gunnah be in deep shit." Looking around the newly dubbed Mitsubachi had to agree with Naruto, despite the language he used, the little grove they were in looked line a scene out of a horror movie.

The lush green grass that had once covered the floor of the clearing had been reduced to nothing more than blood covered patches since most of it had been destroyed in the fight, not even the trees had managed to escape unharmed. Most of the trees had long gashed carved into them, from what he could only assume were Naruto's bones, making it look as it some great battle had gone on. That wasn't even taking into account all the debris scattered through the clearing as various bones and other things such as crushed rocks were sown throughout the now scarred landscape. Then there were the bodies. Mitsubachi had thought that it was a simple one sided fight earlier but he was wrong, it was more like a massacre. The six boys that had decided to fight Naruto were all bloodied and unconscious. The two black clad boy had been pinned to two trees opposite each other through Nartuo's ingenious use of his own bones, whether the bones were going through them or their clothes was impossible to tell due to the amount of blood. The set of twins were slumped with one on top of the other with both of them facing down which looked incredibly dangerous since both of their faces were in a giant pool of their own blood. The largest boy of the six was crumpled in, what Mitsubachi assumed to be, a man made ditch with his clothes torn to shreds and a large assortment of cuts marring his body causing the ditch to steadily fill with his own blood. What was left of the Butabuta's families next leader was lying half dead in yet another pool of blood except his injuries were so severe it was almost impossible to recognise him.

However, in complete juxtaposition to them was Naruto who despite being involved in something so brutal and bloody had managed to come away completely unscathed with his appearance being just as pristine and royal as before. In fact the only thing wrong with his appearance now was that his silver had come loose of his pony tail and his sky blue yukata had a few small holes from where Naruto's bones had come out. Besides that there wasn't even a speck of dirt on him, he had even managed avoid getting blood on him despite the rather large amount that he had managed to make his opponents spill.

"Yes it would seem to be the best course of action but do you really intend to leave them here in this condition?"

"Don't pretend you haven't already told your family to bring their parents and a healer here to get them."

Mitsubachi just used a finger to push his glasses even further up before replying in a monotone voice devoid of all emotion "I was just making sure you were aware of what was going on around you."

"Eurgh I hate it when you talk down to me."

"I do not understand you Naruto."

"Lets just go meet Viper and Kegawa Bachi, cause people will be here soon."

"Don't call me Bachi Naruto!" was the out of character reply given by Mitsubachi.

"Yeah, yeah lets just go." Before Mitsubachi could so much as form a single syllable Naruto had grabbed him by the forearm and out of the grove on his way to the crop fields near the clan houses.

After Naruto and Mitsubachi had fled the grove and sprinted through the fields and hills they arrived at their destination, one of the many storage barns dotted throughout the small farming community however this one belonged to Naruto's family so the chances of any angry parents finding them were low.

As soon as the two of them entered the old barn they were greeted by the one thing that all men, no matter what, feared.

An angry women.

"Where have you two been!"

Now Naruto was many things; headstrong, lucky, smart, brave but as soon as he saw the young red-head stood in front of him with her button nosed scrunched up and her yellow slitted eyes narrowed in distaste he couldn't help but take a step back and hide behind Mitsubachi.

"Mitsubachi needed to take a shit." It was nothing but a pale shout into the void which was righteous feminine fury but the fact that it somewhat lessened the red heads anger made the disgusted and betrayed look from Mitsubachi bearable.

"Ewww Bachi that's disgusting! You need to be less boyish and more classy, like me." Although he knew she usually spoke like this Mitsubachi couldn't stop the eye twitch that crept into his usual stoic façade since he was be talked down too for something he hadn't done.

In the corner Naruto had to slap a hand over his mouth in order to stop himself from laughing at the situation that had appeared before him. On one hand he was putting the usually condescending and emotionally detached Mitsubachi in a situation outside of his comfort sign, where the various twitches and slight facial expression changes caused no shortage of comedy since they were almost never seen. Then on the other hand there was the fact that the person who was telling Mitsubachi to be more classy was none other than Viper, a girl who for long as he had known her had managed to keep her clothes dirty constantly. Even know her creamy white skin and scarlet Kimino were smudged with large amounts of dirt and grime, but it somehow suited her due to her snake-like looks.

Fortunately for both Naruto and Mitsubachi the rest of Vipers rant was interrupted by the slightly sleepy voice of the last occupant of the barn.

"Stop being so noisy damn viper-baka." The less than interested voice belonged to a small dark with grey spiky hair. His attire consisted of a grey sleeveless kimono shirt with a collar lining of black fur. He also wore a white scarf around his neck with a bear paw print stone ornament attached. he also wore brown pants with leg warmers in matching fur along with black geta sandals.

"Shut up Kegawa-baka!" Fumed viper, who despite her best attempt couldn't help but get infuriated at the boys non-committal reply.

"What I was just telling you to quiet down, me and Hageshi were taking a nap." To further prove his point Kegawa reached behind him and pulled the sleeping panda cub of his back before holding him up so that the three of them could see the cubs sleepy face as it tried to rub the sleep out of its eye.

'Oh my god it's so kwaii! I just want to hug it and make it love me!' Despite her metal screams Viper managed to keep her face neutral as she looked at the young panda cub. "So your tou-san finally decided to give you your own one then?"

"Yep, now leave us alone me and Hageshi need a nap."

"Tch, fine." 'Noooo I wanna hold him!'. Naruto and Mitsubachi just stared at Viper with huge sweatdrops forming on the backs of their heads since it was painfully obvious how cute she found the panda cub, especially since she was slightly whimpering now it was gone.

"Umm you ok Viper?" asked Naruto tentatively, already knowing from past experiences with his grandmother just how temperamental those of the fairer sex could be.

Unfortunately for him Viper reacted just like his grandmother did every time his grandfather mentioned something called menopause she turned round and gave him a glare so cold that Naruto swore he saw the Shinigami waiting patiently in the background for him to drop dead. Once she had given her glare Viper just sat down as close to the panda cub as she could get without waking it.

"Bachi please explain to me whats going on here." stuttered out and stunned Naruto

"I..I..I...I...I just can't." Stuttered out and equally stunned Mitsubachi.

Fortunately the two of them their terrified minds were pulled away from the mentally scarring topic of angry and embarrassed young women by the lazy voice of their male counterpart Kegawa "Hey Bachi Naruto mind sharing what the two of you were doing while I was stuck here listening to miss "I rule the world" bitch about having to wait for you two?"

Being able to see that despite the way it was phrased Kegawa was clearly interested in what had happened since he had been keeping his beady black eyes locked on the two of them throughout the entire question, Naruto decided to have a little fun with him. "Oh nothing really, doubt you would be interested."

"Really nothing? Then why are your clothes all ripped?"

"Like I said nothing interested and besides, don't you need a nap you were just complain about how tired you were earlier."

A small twitch developed on his brow but he persisted "I know but we're friends so I cant help but be worried about you."

Deciding to up the ante Naruto started giggling before he put his hands on his cheeks and looked away as if he were embarrassed. "Oh Kegawa-kun I didn't know I meant so much to you, but please we're just friends."

Viper laughed loudly as she got the not so silent insinuation where as Mitsubachi just remained his silent and stoic self since he felt that it was wrong for five-year olds to be making the kinds of jokes to one another. Kegawa on the other hand had to restrain himself from punching Naruto since he knew perfectly well that his silver-haired friend was only doing this to annoy him, so he grit his teeth before letting out a strained reply. "I know and as friends it's important to know what each other do daily, is it not?"

Naruto took a moment to make it look like he was fully considering what Kegawa was saying before he replied "Hmm I guess you're right Kegawa, so Viper-chan do you want to tell us what you did today?"

"Godammit just tell me what you did today Naruto!" The out of character shout and angry red face of their normally cool and calm friend caused the other members of the barn, even the stoic Mitsubachi, to erupt with laughter, much to Kegawas chagrin.

"I would but I have lessons to attend."

"..." Kegawa managed to keep his face almost completely blank as he watched Naruto saunter out of the barn, he was a naturally curious person and it rather peeved him that Naruto would purposely string him along just to leave before he could get what he wanted. The rather loud laughing of both Mitsubachi and Viper also did little to ease his irritation at his current predicament but having Mitsubachi near him was fine he would just had to get the information of him.

With Naruto

After a few minutes of quietly strolling through one of the many large wheat fields Naruto's eyes finally laid on the large wooden farmhouse which he had lived all his life, quickly deciding that his lessons would most likely be done it what could be considered the house back garden Naruto skirted round the side of the house before entering the large field that was his back garden. While the field was nothing more than a patch of infertile soil and large rock it was undoubtedly large, stretching more than three hundred yards in each direction before finally meeting some sort of barrier. Unsurprisingly in the middle of the field sat Naruto's grandfather, quietly sipping some sake as he waited for his grandson to finally show up for his lessons.

Naruto strode confidently over to him before gently sitting down in the lotus position in front of him not even acknowledging the fact he was two hours late and his grandfather had been sat waiting for him. It was a lesson his grandmother had taught him at an early age, never be sorry for the things you do because nothing can change what has happened. He had taken that lesson to heart.

"Tch took you long enough gaki." It was a rough assessment but Kakushitsu put no real annoyance or anger in his voice.

"I had some business to take care out in the fields."

"And that would be?"

"Just some beetroot picking."

"Ah those poor valiant vegetables."

"Umm Ok?" Any thoughts or plans Naruto had for the rest of his lesson with his grandfather left at that moment as he watched him grandfather hand his head on mourning over beetroot.

"Alright enough of the sad stuff, todays your first day of official ninja training and I plan on covering all the bases. I want you alert and ready to take in everything that I'm going to teach you today."

Unable to calm his excitement Naruto bounded to his feet ready for a strenuous workout since his juvenile mind equated ninja training to physical work.

Kakushitsu did nothing to stop him of course and instead let him express his energy in a frantic display, all the while keeping a smug grin from creeping onto his face as a picked up an empty note-book and pencil from behind the boulder he was sat on. After having watched Naruto finish a brief warm up routine he threw the book and pencil at him with a satisfied smirk as he saw the boys confused look when he caught the two objects.

"Well best get comfortable then, we got a lot of theoretical work to get through today."

Naruto just paled knowing that this was his grandfathers revenge for him being late. "Please tell me you're joking."

"Nope not in the slightest you white-haired midget, so sit down and shut up."

Knowing that he had not other choice but to comply Naruto begrudgingly found a rock near his grandfathers before making himself comfortable, all the while muttering obscenities under his breath.

"Look I know you don't wanna do this, so I'm not going to bore you by doing stuff like explaining what chakra is and asking what you think being a ninja will be like because you should know that shit. Today we're going to be doing a complete history of Yubokumin no kuni."

"Why?"

"Because I fucking said so Gaki, and that best be the last time you interrupt me because I want to get this done as quick as possible because me and Ai are planning on going out tonight."

Naruto could help but sigh at how his grandfather went from overly dramatic to cooing like a love-sick puppy when he started mentioning his grandmother. He just couldn't understand how someone as strong as his grandfather could be such a love-sick puppy, surely it made no sense that such a strong man would bend to a women's will like a reed in the wind. Well at least it didn't to him.

"Ok so I know you know about the five countries which make up the vast majority of the elemental nations; they're Hi no kuni, Mizu no kuni, Rai no kuni, Kaze no kuni and Tsuchi no kuni. However, what a lot of people don't know is that while blood was still being spilt in order to establish those countries Yubokumin no kuni and her borders had already been established by Naruhito Yamada. He is believed to be the first person to have the title of Daimyo who ruled over a country instead of just some worn torn lands."

"I call bullshit! We don't have a Daimyo and I've never heard of no Naruhito Yamada." Shouted Naruto as he jumped up off his rock which caused his stationary to fly off. The question came out harsher than expected but Naruto couldn't control himself, he was young not foolish and it irked him to no end when people would tell him lies.

"Listen brat I said no interrupting so sit back down and shut the fuck up while I explain." After waiting for Naruto to pick up his stationary and sit back down Kakushitsu continued but in a much more stern tone. "Like I was saying Naruhito Yamada was the first Daimyo of our luxurious nation and it was thanks to his leadership that our country survived throughout the first half a century of nameless wars that plagued the elemental nations. When he was alive Yubokumin no kuni thrived, he managed to set up trades to every country meaning that things such as; clothes, food, alcohol, hell even medicine could be sold without the other countries petty wars interfering with business. It's not even like he was just smart either Naruhito is one of histories greatest samurai, it is said that during the war for the unification of Yubokumin no kuni he slew over ten thousand men, both natives of our country and those who sought to take it for themselves."

"Wow, he sounds so... Badass." Naruto was in complete awe, he didn't know why but every word his grandfather spoke just seemed to resonate with him despite the fact it sounded like it had been made up on the spot.

Kakushitsu just smiled smugly at his grandsons facial expression 'Haha knew I was goddamn great at teaching history and AI told me that she should do it.'

"Yeah he was, why do you think you were named after him?"

"Really?"

"Yeah, your mother was originally going to name you Naruhito but on the day you were born there was a terrible storm. The wind howled and the heavens wept, all around thunder and lighting came crashing down, it wasn't the worst storm the country has ever seen but at the time it seemed so. It was as if there was a mighty battle being thought in the sky, the clouds would dance and sway, twisting and turning, moving at an erratic pace just as if their was a maelstrom in the sky. That's why you're called Naruto, your mother wanted to give you a strong name and what better way than naming you after a force of nature and one of the greatest leaders the world is ever seen."

"W..Ah...uh... Wow." it was almost too much for his mind to wrap around, his beloved mother had given him such a strong and thought filled name. Did she really love him enough that she believed he would be able to live up to a name with such meaning behind it? Luckily Naruto was saved from the mental overload by his grandfather getting back on topic.

"Anyways despite being a, as you put it, badass it wasn't enough to stop his death at the hands of time, he lived to a respectful ninety-two but even he was no match for father time. However, even after his death Yubokumin no kuni still retained its place as one of the worlds powers thanks to his descendants, each one of them managed to bring Yubokimin no kuni to new heights unfortunately, like all good things however it had to come to an end. Shortly after the rise of the hidden ninja villages one of the five great nations decided that it would be in their best interests for their to no longer be Yubokumin no kuni, so they gave their shinobi village a rather simple order. Kill everyone."

Naruto was so immersed in the tale by this point that he couldn't help but gasp at the overly dramatic turn in his nation's history, not that his grandfathers tone was helping things for that matter.

"Unfortunately our people will never know what really happened that night because the few that survived were hysterical over the events and died shortly after they gave their stories. All we know is that the ninja snuck into the capital under the cover of darkness before they unleashed hell on the capital, buildings crumpled, men burned and women were taken hostage. It was truly a horrific event that has to be one of the worst events in human history but it was overshadowed by what the five great nations did next. The day after the destruction of the capital the five great nations marched on us, cutting their way through all who stood in their way. They robbed our country of its wealth before they erupted great borders to us from fleeing, they caged us in here with no intent of letting us go. They damned us to a life of poverty and squalor out of spite and jealously because they feared how strong we would become under the leadership of the Yamada's. Then to top it off, once they had destroyed our economy, our way of life, our entire future they wrote us out of the history books. Just imagine it, giant book burnings to destroy every record or piece of evidence detailing our countries proud past, teachers and monks being assassinated just for teaching of the once proud country of Yubokumin no kuni, the country build by wandering merchants and samurai. Yet that was not enough for them, they had already taken everything from us but it was not enough they had to go the extra mile. They used our poverty-stricken nation to house their rejects and criminals, claiming we were nothing more than land fit for banishment."

It was obvious by the amount of anger and hate in Kakushitsu's voice that he was deeply affected by what had happened but Naruto just couldn't bring himself to feel the same. He was sad about what happened to his country but when he thought about it logically he couldn't blame the other countries. If Yubokumin no kuni was really that powerful they should had had a ninja village for protection instead of relying on samurai and hired ronin.

"But ojiisan what happened to the Yamadas and why has no one rebuilt Yubokumin no kuni?"

Kakushitsu just gave his son a sad glance "Same thing that happened to every one else, they became dirt poor farmers. As for why no one's rebuilt the country, the honest answer is I don't know. The outside world no longer cares about us so I suppose it's just fear."

"Fear?"

"Yeah fear. The only way the country would be able to be rebuild would be to adopt the ways of the other nation and build a shinobi village but we have no one strong enough to take on that role, besides there's no way the country would be able to unite without strong leadership and that just not something we don't have. Anyways lessons done so find something to do because me and your bachan are going out soon." With a shrug and a wave Kakushitsu strolled towards the house.

As he watched his grandfather walk into his house Naruto got lost in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions over the history lesson he just had. After a few hours of hard thinking Naruto finally came to a decision about what he had learnt from his history lesson, and as he watched the sun start to set he had a new resolved steeled within he heart.

'I will help unite this country!'

END

Yeah I know I've made you wait ages for this chapter and nothing really happened but it's important for character and plot development so it had to be done.

Anywho, I got some free time now so I'm planning on writing more but I make no promises what so ever.

So yeah just do the usual guys and thanks for reading.
