This is the last time I give in to peer pressure, Tess thought as she crawled around the unfamiliar cave, mentally promising herself for the fifth time that she was going to punch Mallory in the face for recommending this place to her. She didn't even like skooma! After mumbling a couple more curses she picked up her bow and moved on, slowly opening a wooden door that seemed to lead into a crypt-like area. It even had a large, opened coffin in the center of the room.
Just as she thought the place was safe, there was an earsplitting howl. Tess winced and aimed her bow at the two dogs charging her way. They were big and black and no fur covered them, but rather odd craters all along their bodies. Their eyes glowed red and they had more rows of teeth than any normal mutt should have. Fucking vampires. Are you kidding me?
She was so done with this Redwater Den place.
Later, Delvin was looking up at her from his place sprawled out on the floor of the Ragged Flagon, surprised, with a nasty bruise blossoming on his cheek.
"Lass, you took down a fake skooma den run by vampires and you're acting as if it was some big inconvenience for you." Brynjolf pointed out in shock after she had justified her rage. He had been sitting across the table and having a drink with the Breton before Tess had stormed up to them and whopped the older man in the face.
Her head whipped around to glare at him at an alarming speed, and she actually hissed, much to the further befuddlement —and slight fear— of the two thieves. "It was." She then turned to Tonila and Vex, who had both been laughing like maniacs at the other side of the bar from the moment Delvin had hit the floor. "Hey Ton, you don't happen to have a cure disease potion in that bag of yours, do you?"
Now everyone was laughing.
