RRTAB: Read, Review, and Tell A Buddy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon!

"You look nice," Mamoru's mother said from his bedroom doorway.

Mamoru turned to her and smiled. "Thank you," he said.

Ayaka walked deeper into the room. She straightened his collar and examined him from head to toe. She smiled brightly. "I have such a handsome son," she said happily. "Usagi is one lucky girl."

"Thanks Mom," Mamoru said, allowing her to adjust his outfit as she pleased.

"By the way," Ayaka said, "before you go, I think we should establish some rules."

Mamoru frowned. "Rules?"

"Yes, rules," Ayaka said. "Your curfew is midnight. Usagi is a sweet girl. Don't take advantage of her. No drinking. Remember your manners and don't forget your wallet. And—."

"Mom," Mamoru interrupted her with a chuckle as he grabbed her hands. "Don't worry. Everything is going to be fine. I'm going to treat her like the princess she is. It's a promise."

Ayaka smiled softly. "I know. You're a wonderful son. I know you'll be a perfect gentleman. I just… I can't believe you're grown into such a great man without my help."

Mamoru chuckled again and kiss her cheek. "I have to get going. Dates are the only things Usagi are on time for." He gave a wave and walked out of the apartment.

Meanwhile in the Tsukino house, Usagi curled the last strand of her hair. She placed the curler on her dresser and tucked her hair behind her ear. "There," she said with finality.

"Wow," Yuri said from the door. "Mamoru's going to be really impressed."

Usagi smiled. "Thanks. Are you sure you'll be okay without me here?"

Yuri nodded. "It's only for a few hours. Besides, you can't stop living your life because of me. But…could you do me a favor?"

Usagi nodded. "What is it?"

"I have a little brother," Yuri said. "Could you check on him for me? Tell him that I'm thinking of him?"

Usagi nodded with a smile. "Of course," she replied.

Yuri pulled a piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to Usagi. "Here's the address. Thanks, Usagi. For everything."

Usagi slipped the paper into her purse. "Anytime." She walked out of her room and left the house.

Yuri's soft smile faded once Usagi was out of sight. She sighed. "Forgive me, Usagi," she whispered as she transformed into Sailor Oblivion. She closed her eyes as the powerful dark magic flowed through her veins. She teleported onto the roof.

She watched as Usagi skipped along the sidewalk away from the house. She looked in the opposite direction and shot a ball of darkness to the sky. The ball dispersed and a dark storm cloud appeared in its place.

She remembered Beryl's list of demands. The Silver Crystal. Prince Endymion. Sailor Moon. All in exchange for her little brother's life. She couldn't deliver Usagi to the evil queen but perhaps if she gave two of out of the three, that would be enough.

The rain started to fall and Mamoru noticed this as he came out of his apartment building. "Shoot. Rain…," he mumbled. He walked back inside to grab an umbrella.

Ayaka looked at him in surprise. "Back already?"

"Just to get an umbrella," Mamoru replied, disappearing into his room.

Ayaka and Motoharu exchanged looks. Was it not just sunny outside? Ayaka looked outside from the balcony door. "I guess it really is raining." She opened the door and stepped outside.

Motoharu stood up from his place on the sofa and walked to the door. "Ayaka, come back in here. You know I don't like when you play in the rain. What if you get sick?"

Ayaka smiled from the balcony, pushing her wet hair out of her face. "But it feels great!"

Motoharu sighed, laughing despite himself. "But that's enough. What if Mamoru saw you this way?"

Ayaka still smiled, but she came inside. "Fine, fine, Mr. Killjoy. I'm inside."

Motoharu placed a kiss on her forehead and went to get a towel for her to dry off with. "Wait here," he lightly commanded as he walked away.

Usagi arrived at the arcade and looked behind her to see the sky darkening. She breathed a sigh of relief.

Motoki laughed. "Looks like you got here just in time, Usagi," he said as he wiped the counter down.

Usagi nodded. "Yeah," she said. She watched as the rain started to fall. "But Mamo-chan and I were planning to go to the park… It wasn't supposed to rain today… And when I left home, there was no cloud in the sky. It's just so sudden…"

Motoki shrugged. "The weather is crazy sometimes but it's typhoon season, you know. How about you and Mamoru just have your date here? I could pull off something romantic for you two, I bet."

Usagi smiled brightly and turned away from the door. "Really, Motoki? You'd do that?"

Motoki nodded. "Of course. Anything for my cute little sister! It'll be ready by the time Mamoru gets here. I promise."

Motoharu patted Ayaka's hair dry. "There," he said. "You're all dry."

"Thank you," Ayaka said with a little smile. "But I don't think it was necessary. I feel fine, really, Motoharu."

"I don't take chances when it comes to you," Motoharu said. "You know that."

Mamoru finally came out of his room with a green umbrella in hand. "I found it," he announced. "I'm running super late, aren't I?"

Ayaka's eyes laid on her son and her eyes flashed from their usual blue color to black. "And where are you going?"

Mamoru stopped. "My date, remember?"

"I remember," Ayaka said. "Your date with that awful girl. You're not going. You're staying home with us."

Both Mamoru and Motoharu looked at her as if she grew a second head. Mamoru shook his head. "You must be joking. Usagi isn't awful and it's our anniversary! You were just telling me how sweet she was fifteen minutes ago!"

Ayaka gently touched his arm and looked into his eyes. "You're not going on that date."

Mamoru stared at her, caught in the hypnotic suggestion that her eyes sent off. "I…" he said slowly. "I won't go on the date. I'll stay home tonight, Mom."

Motoharu's jaw dropped. "What's going on, you two? What about Usagi?"

Mamoru looked at his father and shrugged. "Who cares about that odango? I want to stay home with you guys tonight." He closed the door and went to relax on the sofa. "Let's watch a movie."

Yuri watched the storm continue on from her spot on the roof. She sighed and closed her eyes. It was done. The plan to break up Usagi and Mamoru was in motion. There was no going back now. "This is for my brother," she whispered to herself. "I have to do what I must…"

She spent a while reciting that to herself, trying to make herself feel better about what she was doing. It was only a matter of time now. Soon, Beryl would start her invasion and soon, Usagi would find out about Yuri's betrayal. But that was in time. For now, this is what was needed for her brother's protection. This was for the best.

And that's a chapter! Love it? Hate it? Want to know what happens next? Tell me in a review!

I really hoped everyone enjoyed it! I already have the next chapter written out so expect it soon, okay?

Goodbye for now!
