Chapter 4

It was finally time to go back to Hogwarts and Dudley and I still haven't told Dudley's parents about him being a wizard. When they dropped me off Dudley snuck out and they would never know that Dudley isn't actually at his old school because they 'dropped' him off already and I called Dudley's school saying he was accepted in a higher school. We already have report cards, forged, set for the dates.

We got onto the train laughing and shoving drawing attention to them but one family actually smiled, the Malfoys, everyone else yelled out or told us to stop. The ones who yelled/told us to stop we gave the birdie back. Finding a compartment all to ourselves, "Now I see why they call us muggles," I looked at him confused, "they have no sense of humor." We held our serious faces for all of a few moments before cracking.

Joking and playing around made the time pass almost like what happens when I fly. I am pretty sure an hour passed when someone opened the door and it just had to be Malfoy Jr. Dudley winked at me and I smirked slightly ready to confuse the hell out of Malfoy.

"Malfoy, Draco Malfoy," Draco said nodding his head to the both of us.

"Bond, James Bond," Dudley retorted right back and I fell of my seat laughing so hard. Draco looked at us like we were insane, which we probably were. Dudley paused long enough to explain to Draco and for the first time since I have known him he laughed right along with us and it sounded so free. That was when I gave up on being enemies with Draco ready to try and be friends with him.

"May I ask what your names are?" Draco asked shuffling his feet in nerves. I looked at Dudley blinking twice in a sign to tell him his name but not mine. After the ritual Dudley and I became so attached that small signals let the other know what they wish or are thinking.

"Dudley Evans," Dudley replied softly keeping his hand out until Draco shook it making Dudley smile almost an invisible smile.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Dudley," Dudley nodded when Draco said his first name instead of his last. Moving his hand he gestured for Draco to take a seat where ever he wishes and he obliged. "May I ask your name?" Draco asked me staring me in the eyes and sitting right across from me.

"You may," I replied with my emotional eye turning to a light pink signify that was up to no good.

Dudley reached over slapping me on my chest, "Don't mind him, my brother can be a real prankster with words," Dudley explained to Draco. Draco smiled with approval in his eyes, "Also don't worry about my brother's eye it changes color with his emotions. You learn his different colors rather quick it's piecing together what they signify quite difficult though," Dudley also explained not slipping yet the fact of who I am.

"I'll give you a hint, I am in Gryffindor sixth year and we have not been ever friends," I stated staring him right in the eye wondering if he would catch on.

I saw resignation in Draco's eyes before the outburst followed, "POTTER!" Dudley fell out of his chair in hysteria tinted with laughter.

"At your service," I bowed in front of Draco. Dudley clutched his stomach in pain from laughing too hard, I am pretty sure when he will be able to breathe again his brain will have some damage.

"Man bro when you told me about Draco I thought you were kidding," Dudley chocked out before sitting himself back down.

"Potter but-what, you," he nodded his head to Dudley, "but impossible," he finally stopped mumbling. I high-fived Dudley and we both turned matching smirks at Draco, "You-you both played me." We nodded to show that yes we did play him like a fiddle. "What happened to the golden boy?"

Dudley growled out, "Does all wizards and witches believe you are a pampered prince?" I nodded my head towards Dudley in affirmative.

"What do you mean you aren't spoiled?" Draco asked looking more confused.

Who's the peacock? Amira asks coming out of her sleep. I laughed long and hard before telling Dudley with a raised eyebrow towards Draco and my hand flapping, Dudley started chuckling too. That's Draco Malfoy, I answered Amira. He's trustworthy, she said before going back to sleep.

"Damn snake," I muttered to myself but my brother and Draco heard also, "no I have never been a pampered prince," I scowled darkly. "Unless you consider being worked to the bone like a house elf and when something wasn't to perfection or they just needed a punching bag they used me as said punching bag and or they starved me too. If you consider those facts to be a pampered prince than yes I am a pampered prince," Pryde butted his head against my knee trying to get me to calm down.

"Sh," Dudley slipped his hand on my shoulder giving me some comfort before turning towards Draco. "If you tell anyone about Harry's personal life I will personally make this Dark Lord of ours look like a cutesy puppy," Draco nodded his head.

"I don't," Draco paused looking at me before continuing, "know how it is being… abused but I have an… uncle who went through being abused. If we can be friends," Draco raised his hand waiting for my own.

I didn't even think I just put my hand with his and said, "The past is the past let's leave it there."

The rest of the ride was about getting to know each other, having fun and eating most of the candy we bought. When we got to the point where we get off the train and to the carriages I walked right over to the thresals. My lips pulled back in a form of a smile only reserved for animals and I started to pet one. Dudley and Draco looked at the thresals before petting them themselves. Dudley already told me about one of his friends who was hit by a car and he rushed over with the ambulance on its way but he died in his arms staring at him. He also told me that he had nightmares for at least a month after wards. I wonder who Draco saw die.

On the train I told Draco about me calling for a resort and about the fact I was almost sorted into Slytherin. I was giddy with excitement about saying without words fuck you to Dumbledore. Draco got a good laugh after he apologized for pushing me away when Amira heard that she told me that I would have a friend for life in Draco. Dudley and I planned this down to the last minute.

Walking into the Great Hall I felt a sense of calm and confidence wash over me and for some reason or another I knew that Hogwarts approved. Sitting at Gryffindor for the last time I watched with hooded eyes as the first years were placed and Dudley. As Dudley was walking over to Slytherin he looked over his shoulder and winked at me. Show time.

I interrupt before Dumbledore could start to speak and before the sorting hat could disappear, "As Lord Potter and a student of Lady Hogwarts I demand a resort from the sorting hat." Chaos erupted just like a volcano spewing lava, I couldn't help but watch and bask in it.

"Lady Hogwarts and I the sorting hat understand the call for a resort," the sorting hat replied before Dumbledore and right now he is switching from glaring at the hat and me. After the hat spoke the great hall quitted until it was a graveyard. I walked calmly and collected to the chair before the hat demanded to be let go from Professor McGonagall.

The hat spoke softly into my mind, "I see, you have had things difficult but now I realize. I hope you have fun and the protection you need," the hat yelled, "Slytherin!"

In all honesty I practically skipped over to Dudley and Draco before taking my next breath. Dudley gave me a side hug while Draco patted me on my back but I could feel a pointed stare burning a hole in the side of my head. Things started to pick up after a few moments, there was yelling, whispers and regular voiced questions. For the first time though I felt confident and I realized I am finally going and am being myself.

Dinner was a quiet affair at the Slytherin table the only main chatter was coming from the Grey Trio. We decide on the train that me braking up the Golden Trio we would have to make our own and the Grey Trio was born. We kept talking about anything and everything as we walked to the Slytherin Common rooms.

A first year told me that Professor Snape wanted to talk to me when I told Dudley and Draco Dudley said under no circumstance that I would be going alone. Draco was going to stay behind and wait up for us. I knocked on Snape's door waiting for the-tell of "enter". Snape briefly looked up to see Dudley with me I could tell he wasn't expecting him.

"Is there a reason why you are here Mr. Du-," Professor Snape paused to hear Dudley and I growled at that name, "What is your last name then?"

"Evans sir," Dudley replied just as calmly, "it was legally changed."

"Then Mr. Evans why are you here?" Snape asked seemingly wearing on his patience. I looked towards Dudley and my emotional eye went to ice blue while moving my hand in a quick jerk between him and I.

"Because," Dudley started.

"We are," I followed up.

"Soul twins," we both finished together. Snape's head swiveled back and forth when we spoke making both of us smirk. He probably thought I was going to come alone and interrogate me about what I was planning, looks like the tables have been turned.

"Get out," Snape said standing up, "get out now." Neither of us needed to be told twice we left like people running from Death himself. When we got back to the common room we saw Draco sitting alone and brought him up to speed.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Snape wants to talk to you Draco tomorrow," I said with the three of us sitting on an onyx couch in front of the roaring fire.

"What do I say to him I mean I don't want to lie to Uncle Sev," Draco mouthed out pinching and not pinching his t-shirt. "He can always tell when I am lying or not telling the complete truth."

"You can tell him the truth?" Dudley asked looking towards me. I turned my eyes to the fire watching and wondering. The dots started to pop into my mind while I remember the talk with Draco and I came to the conclusion.

"Is Snape the one you were talking about?" I questioned Draco with unwavering gaze and my eye was a mud color a sign of conflict and intelligence. Draco paused trying to remember the conversation that led to me coming to that conclusion. Draco sighed before he nodded his head in a jerk motion like a reflex. "You trust him," I stated as Draco nodded softly, "if he brings it up first you can tell him."

Draco shook his head, "No I won't tell him," he raised his hand up to stop me from speaking, "because he won't understand how the bond the three of us have works. He won't see the similarity of your situation and his because of what your father has done. I know him best I'll just wing it."

"Are you sure?" Dudley and I parroted. Draco nodded with hidden intellect. Maybe that's why the Grey Trio will work? We get passed over as nothing more than a wall flower.
