Hiccup always loved the feeling of flying. The wind whipping through his hair, the blazing sun as he swam through clouds on the back of Toothless; hell, even the sound his metal leg made as he changed the positions of Toothless' tail. Hiccup was the mage of autumn, but unlike the other three, Hiccup didn't possess magic.
Toothless; Hiccup's dragon; however, did. Using his mighty wings, Toothless could blow the leaves off the trees, his fiery breath turning all the leaves of trees a warm, reddish brown or even gold.
Setting back down in their hidden gorge, Hiccup threw Toothless a fish and chassed some smaller dragons away from his rock so he could sit. With the sounds of Toothless ripping apart fish as a backing track, Hiccup began to sketch yet another picture of their secret place; the deep, crystalline blue lake, the thick green pine needles that remained on the trees all year round, the small cluster of dragons that never seemed to leave, the old prototypes for Toothless' tail scattered around the ground, the small patch of ice beginning to build up near Toothless… wait, what?
"Oi, Hiccup" a voice yelled in his ear causing Hiccup to squeal and jump off the rock, before slipping on the ice and sliding into Toothless' bucket of fish. Toothless groaned at him as Rapunzel and Merida stopped in their task of rubbing Toothless' underbelly to laugh (or in Merida's case; guffaw) at Hiccup covered in fish.
Jack strolled towards them, with his amazing, mysterious, sexy… 'No, wait, you're in love with Astrid, remember' Hiccup thought to himself. Jack strolled towards them, smirking "Sorry Hiccup, didn't mean to scare you" Merida laughed harder.
"That's fine, you didn't. I just decided that Toothless' fish bucket would be a good place to lie down..." Hiccup replied, causing Jack to smirk at his sarcasm. 'Wow, I love his smirk. His amazing, mysterious, sexy… No, stop.' Hiccup mentally berated himself. "So what are you guys going here?"
"Ummm… Sandy said that he woke up this evening to find half his stock of dream sand missing. All that was left was a black scale…" Rapunzel replied.
"Ugh… Toothless." Hiccup turned to Toothless who had an innocent expression on his face before he sneezed and golden dust shot out of his nose. Merida snorted before bursting back into laughter and Jack shook his head in exasperation.
"Hey, I don't know how you're laughing Merida, if I remember correctly, Tooth still gives you the cold shoulder…" Hiccup said. Merida's laughing stopped immediately and she looked like she was going to tear his real leg off.
Before she got the chance however, black sand swarmed around them and they all lost consciousness.
