Hey guys! I know it's been a superr long time since I've updated, and I'm so sorry! However, I know excuses are useless, so here's the story!
Cammie POV
"I really didn't want to leave you when we were 10, but I got accepted into Blackthorne and I didn't realize that my mom would make us move so soon"
Istared at him in shock. "Wha-that's why I had to move too! The CIA wanted to keep my acceptance into Gallagher a secret; well, that and my mom became headmistress".
Zach whistled appreciatively. "That must be where you got those sweet spy genes from-nice job on those level 13 missions by the way."
I stared at him in shock "How did you-" He pointed to himself. "Spy" Of course.
He proceeded to tell me about some of the spy drills and missions he'd been on, but of course he couldn't tell me everything seeing as they were classified. I shared with him some of the Gallagher ways, and though he scoffed at etiquette and dancing, I could tell that he was actually impressed.
I started yawning and looked outside. We'd been talking for hours and it was pitch black outside! "C'mon Cam-let's go to sleep," Zach said attempting to stand up. "
No!" I said snuggling into him. That boy may have firm abs, but dang he was comfy! I heard him sigh and settle back down.
I woke up to the sound of Hannah's annoying voice chattering down to Zach who was now up. "Hey Gallagher Girl-there's some breakfast in the kitchen, but you're going to have to root around for some plates."
"Who knew you could cook Zachie," I teased.
"Don't call me that!" he said, grabbing me around the waist and tickling me. I started squealing-ticklish sides were always my weak points.
I heard someone's throat being cleared with annoyance. Guess who? "Uh, that's cute, but we need to get back to Gallagher" Landon reminded all of us. As annoying as the kid was, he was right. I went over to grab my phone, glancing at it in the process. Shoot! Solomon had left 3 texts, and I had 5 missed calls! This was bad...
"Zach!" I hissed. "Let's go. NOW. Soloman's waiting!" I said showing him my phone. "And look at what's in his first text."
Cam,
Security breach. We need you guys to make a pitstop at Blackthorne and then get here as fast as you can. Change of plans."
TIME SKIP~
We quickly piled into the car and headed over to Blackthorne. Zach drove the first half, and wouldn't give in to the idea of me driving the second until I gave him the famous Morgan death stare. It was a 13 hour drive, so we passed most of the drive going over old traditions to check if anything had changed.
Hannah and Landon fell asleep quickly (with Landon making some particularly annoying snoring noises) and a comfortable silence fell over the car. "Sooo", I said piercing the silence, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
Zach smirked. "Why? Is somebody jealous?"
I felt my cheeks redden as I quickly responded "No! It's called making conversation." True is, I was. I'd always had a crush on Zach, and seeing him all grown up with those muscles now didn't make having the crush any easier. Only problem was that I knew he didn't feel the same.
Oh well, I could still act as his old friend Cammie. "Hey, can you pull over at the next Starbucks? I'm going to need something if I'm going to be taking over driving."
We pulled into the next Starbucks and decided to go in by ourselves, seeing as Hannah and Landon were still asleep and it was 9 in the night. I decided to order an Orange Spiced Ice Coffee, and Zach decided to get a Mocha Frappucino.
Zach went up to order for us, and I went to grab a table, so we could discuss what we would do at Blackthorne. I looked up at the counter and saw the barista flirting with Zach. Great. I watched as she leant over and gently put her arm over his arm, running her nails down the length of it; Zach didn't even bother shaking her arm off. I bet he was used to girls falling all over him.
Just then, a shadow fell over me, and I saw someone sit down. He had light brown hair, blue hair, and lean body. "Did it hurt when you fell out of heaven?" I stared at him.
"Not as much as it will if you don't leave me alone." He just laughed. "Hey, I'm Josh. Sorry but I couldn't help noticing you sitting here all alone, so I decided to give it a shot." I glanced at Zach's direction and saw that he was still occupied. "Hey, I'm Cammie. I'm actually here with someone but looks like he's busy."
Josh snorted. "Your friend's a fool if he left you here all alone." We made some easy conversation when I finally noticed a certain someone heading my way with the Iced Coffee I'd ordered ages ago. "Nice of you to finally come over," I told Zach frostily.
"Hey!" He looked at me defensively. "The espresso machine wasn't working, and Haley (He jerked his head in the direction of the barista) said that it'd be easier to make both of our drinks from scratch herself." Riiiight. I bet she'd spit in mine or something. Zach finally noticed Josh. "Who's this?"
"Hey man, I'm Josh." Zach cooly stared at his hand until he lowered it.
"Zach. Sorry to be abrupt Jimmy, but Cam and I have to go." He didn't look particularly sorry to be leaving. He protectively put his arm around me as I waved to Josh, and we went out to the car.
As soon as we were out of sight of the door, I spun on Zach and said, "What was that Zach? Jealous much? What's so bad about me talking to another guy?"
"You don't know him; he could be part of the Circle." I stared at Zach incredulously and pushed past him to the car. I felt something sticking against my leg, and pulled a napkin away with Josh's number on it.
I yanked open the car door to see Zach already inside. I put the napkin in plain sight and made sure that he could see me entering it into my phone. Needless to say, the silence as we pulled away was tense and awkward, and we started down the long road to Blackthorne.
Well? How was it? As always, reviews are much appreciated! I'll try to update faster since it's the summer. Thanks!
