Story starts off with a different Link and Zelda. Epilogue also included. Hope you enjoy.

"Link," a soft voice called. The blond moaned, rolling over on his side. "Still in bed? Come on, sleepyhead, let's go." A pair of sapphire hues opened, as they watched a girl wearing a white dress, her blond hair tumbled down her back, the sides tied with green and pink ribbons. The young man, Link, pushed himself to a sitting position as he looked around. It was a year since the battle with Demise and the hero was enjoying his life on the Surface. Zelda and Link both decided to call it Hyrule, in honor of her grace.

"Zelda," Link called out to her. The young woman turned to him, a perplexed look on her face. "It's going to be like this from now on, isn't it? You always waking up a very, lazy me."

A giggled escaped her rosebud lips. "I certainly hope not, but come on. Groose and the others are waiting for us. They are having a celebration for the evil that we ended a year ago up in Skyloft. We don't want to be late." Link nodded, swinging his feet over the edge. He slipped his boots on, before standing. He felt dizzy, which forced his back down. He didn't feel right and wasn't exactly sure why. He brought a hand to his forehead, before rubbing it. He still wore his knight attire, which consisted of a green tunic, over a layer of chainmail, and a white long sleeved shirt. He wore beige pants, brown boots, and a belt. He also held a sword in the scabbard on his back.

Link took a few unsteady steps. "Zelda, I..." Link didn't finish, as darkness engulfed him.

Zelda was standing outside and saw Groose. She smiled, giving him a wave. "Let me get Link and we'll go." The young man got off of his black loftwing, which shared a similar hair due as his owner, a pompadour.

Groose walked up to her, giving her a hug. "Is he still in bed?" Groose and Link were no longer rivals, though Link never saw him as such. The two of them grew to be best friends and finally accepted the fact that Zelda loved Link, not him.

"Haha, he was," Zelda joked. "Come on." The two entered the house. "Link?" She called out to him. When she received no response, she raised a brow. "That's odd. He was getting up when I went outside." Zelda rounded the corner with Groose behind her. She stopped short and gasped, Link!"

Link laid on the ground between the door way and the bedroom. His face was pale and cold to touch. His cheeks were flustered and his breathing was off, which gave her the indication that Link wasn't feeling well. Zelda reached his side with Groose right behind her.

"He doesn't look well, Zelda," Groose commented quickly, glancing over at her. She nodded, knowing how accurate Groose was.

"We need to get him to Skyloft, but how?" Zelda asked, looking concerned.

"I could always go back and bring back Professor Owlan," Groose suggested. Zelda nodded, as Groose knelt down and picked up Link. The young man didn't weigh much and he could feel how weak Link was. He laid Link down, before turning to Zelda. "I'll be back soon." With that, Groose was out the door. Zelda looked at Link, running her fingers through those silky blond strands. She was in love with him and she didn't like it when he was ill.

Sheik's eyes opened, as she woke up. 'Was that an odd memory or just a weird vision?' That Link didn't look like her hero and that Zelda didn't look like her either. Sheik let out a small sigh, as she looked at her hero. His cheeks and the tips of his ears were returning back to their normal color. She knew he was getting better slowly, but it was still something.

A cough rattled her from her thoughts. She glanced over and saw link was waking up and continued to cough. She got to her feet and brought over so water. She held his head up and managed to get some down his raw throat. "Thank you," he choked out.

Sheik nodded, a smile crossing her lips. "Not a problem. I made some soup for you." The aroma woke a sleeping fairy, who glanced up. Sheik looked at her, smiling. "I'll make you a bowl too, okay?" Navi nodded, smiling.

Link watched with sleepy eyes. "A red pompadour..." he murmured. Sheik felt a chill run down her spine. Did he just say what she thought? The two of them had the same dream? Her eyes landed on Link, who was staring back.

"Groose," was all she said. Link gasped, hearing the name. Navi watched, her expression was confused.

"Who has a red pompadour? And who is Groose?" Her questions were met with silence. Link then held out his hand and Navi landed on it. Slowly, he explained what he and Zelda were discussing. "Memories from your previous lives?"

"Yeah," Link whispered. "Kind of crazy, but accurate. I don't want to say it's me and her per say. Demise said 'Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero. They are eternally bound to this curse. An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time.' That would explain who Ganondorf is."

"That story dates back to the beginning of time," Navi awed. "I've heard the stories of the Hero of Legend, who fought Demise and saved the Goddess named Hylia."

"You are probably referring to the first hero," Sheik explained. "The Hero of Legend was a 21 year old man, who died protecting his friends. The hero Link is referring to is the 'Goddess's Chosen Hero' and he was only 17 years old."

A smile etched across Link's face. "I wasn't expecting you to know the stories of ancient heroes. Though, Navi speaks the truth. The Great Deku Tree often told the kokiri tales of the Hero of Legend and the Goddess's Chosen Hero. Now I know I house the spirit of the hero." Sheik stared at him, watching him with warm eyes. Link was intelligent and she was proud to see that.

"Here," she interrupted, bringing a steamy spoon of soup to his lips. He began to eat it, and felt it warming up his body instantly.

Sheik continued to feed him, thinking. He knew he held the spirit of the hero, which meant she held the blood of the goddess. That would explain her divine abilities. Sheik let out a small sigh and continued to feed Link. She now knew she was eternally bound to Link and perhaps that is why she was in love with him.

Epilogue

As the days progressed, Sheik continued to take care of Link who were feeling better with each passing day. His fever had gone down considerably and soon, he was ready to continue his quest. In the safety of Impa's house, Link pulled Sheik towards her, pulling down her cowl. Questioning eyes were met with cerulean blue.

Sheik let out a soft breath, "Yes?" She questioned Link.

Instead of answering, Link closed his eyes and pulled her into a kiss. Sheik wrapped her arms around his neck, moaning softly. After a few minutes, they both pulled away, breathless. Link chuckled softly."I love you, my beautiful princess."

Sheik felt her heart skip, as she smiled at Link. "I love you, my handsome hero."

Link kissed her hand. "When this is all over, I want us to be together." Zelda only smiled, knowing that time was cruel and destiny was ever crueler.

Author's Note: I love the tale of Skyward Sword Link & Zelda. I chose to create something "POST" the events in the game. I didn't want to "retell" events of the game if you haven't played it yet. That's it. Tell me what you thought. Thanks!
