Hello! Sorry for the long wait! I honestly sort of forgot about this!

I do not own Harry Potter or the Marauders. Duh.

When Sirius Black opened his eyes every morning, the first thing he usually saw was Remus Lupin smashing a pillow into his head, clucking like a mother hen, and trying to get him out of bed. Sometimes, the first thing he saw was Peter Pettigrew rolling sleepily out of bed, asking for help to tie his confounded tie. And occasionally, Sirius Black opened his eyes to see the thick curtains of his four-poster, but that wasn't very often, seeing as he didn't like enclosed spaces. No, the sight that greeted Sirius's eyes that morning was an extremely bouncy James Potter, frantically searching for his left shoe.

"What're you doing?" mumbled Sirius, sitting up with his comforter wrapped around him like a luxurious cloak.

"I am winning Lily Evans fair heart." Said James confidently. "See this?" has asked, picking up an alarmingly large pink card that was covered in glitter, stickers, and curly black handwriting. "It's a card. I made it. By myself" James smiled. "Without magic!"

Sirius stifled a sigh. James Lily-obsession was difficult to watch sometimes.

"I've heard that there is nothing more endearing than a homemade gift, so I spent the night making this beauty!" James said, shaking the card. "...I may have used a little magic." He said, ruffling his hair. "I charmed it to play a really nice song when it's opened."

"It looks nice mate." Sirius said, though he didn't necessarily mean it. The card was clearly handmade by someone with little art talent. Glitter glue dripped sluggishly from the top edge, the curly black letters that spelled Lily were rather slurred, and the edges didn't meet each other when it was folded over.

"I think its going to be my winning plan to captivate her." James said, with a nod. "I'll give it to her when the second class starts."

"Why not the first class?" Sirius asked, slipping on his trousers.

"We missed first class."

"What? Why didn't you wake us up! Why didn't Moony wake us up?" Asked Sirius running his hands through his bed head.

"I wasn't done with the card." James said, as though that explained it all.

Sirius growled. Class wasn't necessarily a priority to him and James, but he knew that Peter and Remus both rather enjoyed class, and counted on each lesson to help their dwindling grades.

"Oi! Peter!" Sirius said, throwing a pillow with incredible force at Peters blonde head. "Get up, quick! We're really late!"

James had found his left shoe, and was tying it, looking confidently at his sparkling card. The glue was slowly drying, and James thought that there never was a nicer looking card.

Peter let out an alarmed squeak when he saw the time. "Blimey! We are late!" He squealed, racing to the bathroom to get dressed. James laughed. "Better go quickly Wormtail, wouldn't want to miss transfiguration!" James turned to Sirius, who was now completely dressed. "you'd better wake up Moony, he'll have a conniption when he sees the time."

Sirius was already shaking Remus awake. "Moony...Moony come on, we're really late." He said quietly. Remus was almost always the first up, so Sirius felt dreadful waking the fatigued boy from his sleep.

Remus sat up in bed like a corpse rising form a coffin. "We're late? How late?" He asked, his voice extremely raspy, though whether that was from sleep or not, Sirius did not know.

"We missed breakfast and first class." Sirius said, tightening his belt.

"What!" Remus barked, jumping out of bed so quickly that Sirius took a step backwards and James started in surprise. Remus slipped into his clothes right then and there, dressing with surprising speed and rushing out the door. "I can not afford to be late!" He yelped as he reached for the doorknob. "Well come on!" he said frantically, gesturing for James and Sirius to speed up. And Remus was out the door.

Peter had stood in the bathroom doorway, brushing his teeth, so he could watch the episode. Sirius exchanged a look with James. "Has Remus seemed a little...off to you?" Sirius asked.

"Yeah. Yeah he has." James said.

Peter just kept brushing his teeth, a growing concern spreading throughout his chest.

When Remus Lupin burst in to Minerva McGonagall's transfiguration class twenty minutes late, she was just about ready to give him the longest lecture she could muster, but stopped dead short when Remus slumped into a desk next to Lily Evans and gave her a look that plainly said Go on. Say something. I dare you.

Lupins hair was an unsightly mass of tangles, which was extremely out of the ordinary for him. Minerva felt her heart ache as she saw the terrifically large dark circles under his blood-shot eyes. The boys tie wasn't even tied, and he had forgotten his prefect badge. It occurred to her that Lupin was looking more ill that he usually did. She made a mental note to speak with him after class.

"Well, now that Mr. Lupin has decided to join us, let's get back to our lesson. Page 247 now." Started the stern professor.

"Hey," Lily whispered quietly to Remus. "Are you ok?" He green eyes sparkled with concern.

"I'm fine Lily." Snapped Remus in a very un-Remus way. he hadn't even bothered to take out a quill and parchment. Instead, he was rubbing his temples and had his eyes closed.

"Are you sure? Because you don't look well, so maybe you had better visit madam Pom-"

"I said I'm fine Lily!" Remus said just a bit to loudly. The students shot a look at him from the corner of their eyes. Professor McGonagall considered asking Remus to go to the hospital wing, but decided against it.

Lily looked quite hurt, and Remus instantly hated himself. He was about to hastily apologize when the classroom door was flung open again, and James, Sirius, and Peter came sweeping in, looking slightly rushed, but all the same, ready.

"Boys!" McGonagall seethed. "You are terrifically late-" She started, but she was interrupted as James Potter went striving up to lily Evans and held out a monstrous looking card.

"It's for you, Lily-flower. I made it for you." He said softly, ruffling his hair.

Lily was furiously red in the face, boiling with anger. She smacked the card away from her, and it opened and began to play extremely loud romantic violin. James smiled his winning smile. "Go out with me Evans?" He asked.

McGonagall was pressing her lips together tightly with anger. Any second she'd explode with a lecture.

The entire class had their eyes on Lily. Lily stood up and picked up the card. "listen to me Potter, because I'm only going to say this one more time. "

James smiled eagerly.

"I will never" Lily ripped the card in half. "Ever" the card was ripped into fourths. "EVER" the card was ripped in sixths. "Go out with you!" She said in a scary whisper, sprinkling the pieces on the ground.

James had lost his smile. He was staring at the fallen card pieces. "Okay." He said hoarsely, and he picked up his bag, and raced out of the room.

Professor McGonagall, despite her anger, felt quite terrible for Potter.

Just then a small explosion caught her attention. Mr. Lupin had stood up with a loud Bang and was glaring at Lily with fire in his eyes. "You're horrid!" He growled. "Can't you see he truly likes you? I can't believe you would rip up that card!" Said Remus in disgust.

Lily looked frightened as Remus's bloodshot eyes borrowed into her. "You've been cruel Lily, how could you be so vile?" hissed Remus.

McGonagall was just about to yell, when Sirius Black came storming up to Remus.

"Moony, calm down." He said quietly. "I don't think you're well."

"Leave me alone Sirius!" Remus snapped, shoving Sirius away.

"Professor." Lily said.

"Remus, come on mate, I'm taking you to the hospital wing." Sirius said looking very stunned.

"I said I'm fine." yelled Remus, looking quite mad with his disheveled hair and sunken eyes.

"Professor." Lily said again.

Professor McGonagall was frozen as she watched Remus and Sirius fight. She'd never seen Lupin like this before. Was this werewolf behavior?

"No Remus, I don't think you are." Said Sirius, with a surprisingly gentle voice.

"I'm not going anywhere until Lily apologizes to James." Remus snarled, swaying on his feet.

"Professor." Lily said almost frantically, as Sirius inched closer to Remus.

"Remus...Moony...Something's wrong..."

"You stay away from me." roared Remus, wiping out his wand.

"Professor!" Lily practically screamed.

But McGonagall was a step ahead. She was already briskly walking to Lupin. She grabbed his wrist and snatched his wand. "Mr. Lupin, you are unwell, I think you had better go with Mr. Black and Mr. Pettigrew to the Hospital Wing." She said, feeling slightly alarmed as Lupin glared at her with feverish eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but suddenly went limp and slipped into a faint.

"Moony!" Sirius and Peter yelped at the same time, rushing to his side.

"You boys take him to the Hospital Wing. I'll be there in a moment." McGonagall said.

The boys nodded and propped Remus between them and slowly left the classroom, the students watching them as they left.

Lily looked quite shaken. "Are you alright, Miss Evans?" asked the professor.

"Yes mam." Said Lily.

"Good." McGonagall said with a nod of the head. "In that case class," she said addressing all of her students. "You are excused."

The class seemed to sit there in a stunned silence for a moment before departing.

Professor McGonagall swiftly left the classroom, her heart heavy. Something was wrong with Remus Lupin, and she had a horrible feeling about what it was.
