It had taken some time to get Ash's mom to calm down and get them all into the house, now they where all sitting in the living room staring at each other. Well actually they where all staring at Ash who was staring and frowning at his tea. His friends did not want to break the silence his mother was in the kitchen getting snacks. She came in smiling and set the tray down on the table. "Oh!" she exclaimed "Have you called Misty?" Ash stiffened, Pikachu growled and Kari reach out a hand and placed it on his knee. "No" he said coldly. His mother blinked. "Ash?" He turned to face her. "What happened?" For a moment he considered pretending to misunderstand the question but he wanted to get this over with. Sighing he told her about Misty and his wonderings, leaving out finding the elemental temple. He told her about meeting Kari and the others and that they had been together ever since. When he finished his mother stared at him in shock quickly turning to horror then concern mixed with anger. "And you didn't come home?" He half accused half sobbed. All this time and you didn't even bother to come home, just a couple of sort one or two line letters. Don't you know how worried I was? Didn't you think I would have helped you, been there for you? You're my boy Ash I would have done something."

Ash looked his mother straight in the eye. "I know you would have tried mom but this was something I had to do on my own without any thing to remind me of the past. I've done ok, I have some new friends and Kari and I are happy and I've learned a lot in my travels. I'm ok." Just then there was a knock at the door. Ash's mother got up and keeping her eyes on her son went to answer the door.

Ash's mother rose and answered the door. "Hello Mrs. Ketchum" said a familiar voice.

"Professor Oak, how nice but I don't think…" she had started to send him away

"Let him in mom" came Ash's voice.

The woman looked at her son then stepped aside. Professor Oak walked in the door and into the living room. "Hello Ash" he greeted

"Professor"

"It's been a long time"

"Yah, ow."

Hikari had pinched his leg.

Ash sighed "Would you like to sit down Professor?" Ash offered after a look from his girlfriend. The older man sat on the couch next to Ash's mother they both stared at him. I was quite enough for a moment that you could hear a pin drop. Then Hikari spoke up. "Ash has said so much about you both. I am glad to finally meet you" the older pair

blinked. "Oh where are my manners," said Professor Oak. "I am Samuel Oak, who might you be." Hikari smiled. My name is Hikari. I am Ash's girlfriend. Professor Oak blinked again.

"But I thought"

Before he could finish the sentence Ash's fiends interrupted with their own introductions. "I'm Jen"

"Mark"

"Keo"

"Jen"

"Sora"

"Oh," said the man taking the hint. "Nice to meet you all. You're all trainers I presume." They nodded. "And how did you meet our Ash?"

Ash answered. "We meet two years after I left. We all just happened to end up on Lily Island. We got to talking and found out we were all sort of looking for the same thing so we decided to stick together."

"And have you found what you where looking for?" asked the Professor believing it was something of an emotional nature.

"Yah." Ash actually smiled a little he friends grinned back and the tension in the room lessened.

There was a comfortable silence until…

"Professor!!"

Everyone turned toward the sound as a figure barged through the door.

"ProfessorrrrAsh?"

"Hey Tracy"

"Ash?"

"Ya?"

AN: You decide where this goes.

OK I need some help with this. Pokémon and their abilities even if it's stuff you made up. I kind of wanted to get Ash's dad in here somewhere so anyone with a good idea I can barrow please respond to this, also I am going with the idea that no one knew why Ash disappeared, not even his mother and definitely not Misty. There will be bashing of here to a degree. I am not yet sure how far it will go or how I am going to slide her in here so I CAN bash her so ideas on that? I will try to give all contributors credit if I miss you PM me and I'll get you the next time.
