The Music Brought Us Together
Chapter 4
Once the Organizer tallied up the scores from the judges, he called every Smurf who took part back on the stage.
Organizer Smurf: Now sadly only two bands will make it through tonight to compete in Tomorrow's Final round!
Vexy and Smurfette was so nervous, they could feel the sweat drip from their blue foreheads as they squeezed each other's hands. Vexy looked over to the Smurf Direction to see Grouchy looking right back at her from across the stage with a sympathetic expression.
Vexy looked away in disgust. She wasn't going to be reeled in now, she was doing so good at the moment and need no distractions.
Organizer Smurf: The moment you've all been waiting for… The two bands that will continue to the final will be…
There was a silent suspense among the crowd and bands on the stage as they all waited for the results.
Vexy and Smurfette both closed their eyes tightly. They wanted this so much, more than any of the other bands.
Organizer Smurf: Girl Power! And Smurf Direction!
The crowd went wild for their favourite bands entering the next round. Grouchy and the guys bellowed in excitement and started to jumped up and down.
Grouchy and Gutsy: Woohoo! – They punched their fists together
Hefty: Get in boys! – Hefty punched the air happily
Clumsy and Vanity: Yeah – They high fived each other as Hefty picked them up and hugged both of them
Smurfette and Vexy hugged each other and jumped up and down hand in hand
All the other bands were so disappointed. Organizer exited the stage with the rest of the bands to let Narrator take over as host.
Narrator: Wow a great outcome for the final stage of the competition! Don't you think guys?! – He shouted to the audience as they cheered loud
Narrator: Now the two finalists will perform one song each tomorrow to determine the winner! Also expect a few twist with the performances guys. – He said winking at both bands
Narrator: I hope you all enjoyed tonight. See everyone tomorrow, Night guys! – Narrator waved to the audience as the stage lights dimmed. He and the two bands went backstage to go over tomorrows stage directions so everyone knew where and what they should being doing at the right times.
Everyone in the village called it a night after the competition ended for the night.
The next day all the Smurf's got up to their own things excited about tonight's events
Earlier this morning Smurf Direction were all based in Hefty's mushroom after breakfast, struggling for the inspiration of their final song for the competition in less than 12 hours to go.
Hefty suggested that they should all hang out and do something to take their minds off the contest, as they were thinking about it too much. Hoping inspiration will come to then throughout the day.
Hefty grabbed his weighted and they the group strolled to the middle of the village and set themselves down there. The boys hung out and enjoyed each other's company in the warm pre-afternoon sunlight before dinner.
Grouchy turned his nose up at the thought of weights and working out, he just didn't see the point. So he just sat at the side continuing to scribble down lyrics on his notepad.
Vexy and Smurfette was having the same trouble with the final song lyrics. So they decided to take a stroll through the village to find the boys working out.
Smurfette: Look Vexy, There's the guys! We should go over and congratulate them at least
Vexy: Smurfette no…
But before Vexy could stop her sister she walked already running over to Hefty especially congratulating him. Vexy didn't want to talk to any of them until the contest was over, she had enough with the boys and wanted to beat them so desperately.
Papa Smurf luckily called her over to him at the side of the work out near Grouchy. Asking her to clean up the dining hall mushroom and get it ready for lunch. She accepted with pleasure leaving Smurfette hopelessly impressed by Hefty's flexed muscles as she watched him work out.
The raven haired Smurf entered the dining hall mushroom and got to work cleaning up the used blueberry stained plates and utilises. Once she was satisfied with her work she was about to leave the hall until something in the corner caught her eye instantly.
It was a grand piano that had been untouched in what it looked like years, there was a dusty old sheet over the top of it hiding the instrument over of plain sight. Vexy slowed walked over to the corner pulled the cover off the piano and slid on to the stood beside it.
She gently ran her fingers along the dusty keys and began to play a melody that led into a song

But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight
Grouchy opened the mushroom door and heard angels singing, he looked around the corner and saw Vexy singing and playing the piano like she was a natural. Her back was too him so she had no idea that he was present. Grouchy gracefully watched the girl he was hopelessly falling for, thinking she was the most beautiful Smurf he had ever seen in his life. Grouchy was to fixated with Vexy to realise that he was about to disturb her terribly.

As he leant against the wall he knocked over a few brooms and brushes causing a loud bang and him to tumble over on the floor as he lost his balance.
Vexy suddenly stop what she was doing and raced over to help the poor Smurf. She pulled him up and he surprisingly fell on her slightly with their noses touching. Vexy held him up with all her strength as he regained his balance. She realised it was Grouchy and was about to push him away. Until he captured her lips, causing her to stumbled slightly and her held her tightly against himself. They both warmed up to the gesture after a while, they kissed for a while without saying a word
Until Hefty and the guys were porched at the entrance of the door whistling and clapping, the couple parted and saw all the other Smurf who was here ready for their lunch.
Grouchy instantly pushed Vexy away from him and his grumpy expression revisited his face once again.
Grouchy: What the hell are you doing?!
Vexy: What? – Vexy looked shocked and upset
Grouchy: She just grabbed and kissed me for no reason... She's so desperate! – Grouchy told the guys and started to laugh
Over time tears fell down Vexy's cheeks as she ran out of the mushroom pushing everyone out of the way with great force, running away from the humiliation.
Gutsy: Smooth laddie… - Gutsy knew what really happened and tried to make Grouchy feel empathy and guilt
Smurfette ran after her. She promised herself that she would never let anyone see her cry but now she had.
