Kazuha was tapping her foot, trying not to show her frustration on her face. You think in twenty-two years, Heiji would learn to be on time. But no, the twenty-two year old was late to everything that wasn't mystery related. If he didn't show up in the next five minutes, she was going to run away and join Shinichi's Detective Agency.
"Kazuha!" shouted her boyfriend, as he jogged up. He had a fluster but almost shy look on his face. She turn around, to glared at him with her hands on her hips.
"Why are you late this time? Another mystery? A cute girl accused of murdering her boyfriend for being over an hour late? Because if that is so, I could totally understand her feelings," she snapped. Heiji rubbed the back of his head and looked nervously up at a clock.
"I… Well… I didn't want to stop, but it was important that I prove this guy was innocent. I guess it's too late for the show," he mumbled, as his left hand played with something in his pocket.
"Yes, to late for the show. The show that was suppose to be our dinner. It was kind of Kaitou-san to invite us. You know what Heiji. I'm tired and I'm going home. You cannot understand how frustrating it is to be second place on your anniversary," she said coldly. Heiji turn his back on her, then asked,
"Do you remember what happen here seventeen years ago?" asked Heiji, with a strange tone in his voice. Kazuha tilted her head and tried to think. Nothing came to mind.
"No," she said, crossing her arms. Heiji turned to look at her with a sad smile.
"You were running a fever, and bump to some jerk. The jerk tried to hit you, which made you cry."
"You wanted to remind me that some guy made me cry seventeen years ago?" she asked, realizing something didn't add up right. Heiji shook his head, and took in a breath.
"I made you a promise that day, and I realize I forgot to make sure you remembered after you got better."
"Promise? What kind of promise?" she asked, not help but feeling curious about where this was going. Heiji's eyes meet her, and took several deep breaths trying to calm himself down. He pulled out a box from his pocket and was about to open it, when he was bumped into. The box flew out of his hand and landed next to Kazuha. Kazuha picked it up, as Heiji yelled at the person.
Opening it, made everything faded as she stared at the diamond ring. She felt pale as she lifted up her head to stare at Heiji. Heiji had just turn back towards her opening his mouth. He notice her pale face and the ring box opened in her hand.
"Ahou, will you marry me?"
