Waking up the next morning, I was relieved remembering we had kept out clothes on throughout the night. I had fallen asleep pressing lazy kisses to her neck and I knew she was tired as well, but I'm not sure who fell asleep first. I was still holding her close to me, and she was still fast asleep, breathing quietly. I kissed her forehead and smiled, looking at the girl who I had brought here with such different intentions. I had never planned to fall for her, much less wake up with my arms wrapped around her, her head against my chest. My plan was to bring Harry Potter to the dark lord. I don't even care about Harry. I don't care about this huge plan to have him killed, I didn't want my own army of snatchers; I just want to be normal. Normal like Hermione. Normal like people that drink coffee and read books and take walks. I was cheated out if a childhood. I wish Fenrir had just killed me instead of making me his slave. Hermione stirred in her sleep and I snapped myself out of my thoughts.
"Mornin' beau'iful," I whispered, and she slowly opened her eyes to look at me.
"Good morning," she smiled and closed her eyes again. "Now go back to sleep." I chuckled quietly.
"Actually, today is crucial." I pursed my lips and sat up. She looked back at me an raised her eyebrow.
"Crucial in what?"
"In getting you out before the dark lord checks in on me." She frowned and sat up as well, putting her hands in her lap.
"I don't want to leave," she whispered. "I don't want to go back. Can't we run away together?" She smiled and I knew she was only joking but the joke didn't seem funny. As soon as she was gone I would have to pretend like I never met a girl that changed my life. She made me wish we grew up together. Then maybe we could really be together. In public. Doing normal things.
"You don't still have the trace do you?" I hadn't even thought about how old she was. If she was still underage, the dark lord would know she was here anyway.
"Most certainly not," i exhaled deeply and immediately felt relieved. "You don't, do you? I doubt it. I mean, you look young still, but not that young.. Maybe you're like, twenty? Twenty-one tops." I smiled and nodded.
"Turned twenty-one last month." I looked at the clock and my smile faded.
"What? What time is it?" She looked at the clock an when out eyes met, she looked concerned.
"I have to leave in an hour for duties."
"To look for-"
"Yea." She leaned into me and I ran my fingers through her hair.
"Is there anything you can do to cancel for the day or something?" I shook my head.
"If I missed a day, I'd be just as helpful dead. He doesn't care about us; he just wants the boy."
"Let's just say you went off the grid. You left and didn't come back. Wh-"
"You trying to suggest something, Granger?" I smiled. I never had anyone that cared this much about me. She actually wanted me to be happy.
"Well I really don't want to leave without you." She smiled and took my hand, leaning into me. "Would they know?"
"Never. They wouldn't care if I did."
"Then leave with me." I nodded and a quick thought crossed my mind.
"By the way, don't you have a wand?"
"I left it in the tent with -"
"Harry." She nodded.
"Would you be able to be around him? Because that's the only place ill be able to take us." I nodded. It would be weird seeing him and not trying to kill him or capture him. But honestly, id love to meet him; see what kind of a guy he really is. I hardly think the dark lord has any accurate descriptions of his character.
"When?" She smiled and crawled out of bed.
"As soon as possible." She grabbed a plate of food off the counter and took a bite of whatever was on it.
"After breakfast?" I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her, smiling and kissing her cheek.
"After breakfast."
