Monday Night
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to wait, to wait

Mina smiled brightly at the perfection of her work. Raye stood before her, her dark hair piled on top of her head with wisps framing her face. Her hazel eyes seemed to glow with the dark eye liner and thick mascara.
"I think my work is complete!" Clasping her hands together, Mina did one more inspection and nodded.
Raye turned to stare at her reflection in the mirror, her eyes widening at what Mina had done, "I've never worn this much make-up before." Turning, she glanced at the short hem of her dress. Her cheeks taking on a stain of pink as she noticed where the dress stopped, "My grandfather would never approve."
Mina waved her hand and clucked her tongue, "You're an adult. Besides, its girl's night out!"
Applying one more layer of mascara to her own lashes, Mina stood and did a quick twirl. Holding her arms out she smiled, "What do you think?"
Raye stared at the both of them in the mirror, her eyes darting between them, "I think your brother is going to hogtie us and never allow us to leave our room."
Mina's smiled boomed, "Then what we're wearing is perfect!"

Malcolm sipped the scotch he had poured, glancing over the notes from the conference. He was glad Zachary had taken such good notes; his mind hadn't even bothered to try and keep up.
"Hey, what did you want to do for dinner?"
Malcolm glanced up at Jed, rolling his eyes, "We just started de-briefing and you're already thinking about food?"
Jed shrugged as he put down his own paperwork, "I had a small lunch. Besides, I'm sure my sister and Raye are hungry. Speaking of which," Jed stood and moved towards the staircase, "they haven't even bothered to come down yet. Mina! Raye!"
Malcolm heard the door open as heels clicked against the hardwood floor. He glanced up when he heard Jed mutter a curse.
His own eyes bulged at what he saw. Raye came down the stairs in a skin tight, fire red dress. The halter seemed to accentuate her thin shoulders. He tore his eyes away, knowing it wasn't proper to stare.
"What the hell Mina?"
Malcolm swallowed as he took another look, his eyes wondering where they shouldn't as Mina descended the stairs.
She came in all her glory, her sun-kissed skin seemed to glow in the all-white dress. It too was a halter, though the halter was held up by gold chains that wrapped around her neck then cascaded to the top of her low cut dress. His eyes traveled down the front of the dress, lingering on her breasts, then down to her flat stomach. His hands fisted. His eyes continued down the short dress to her sun-kissed legs. Her pretty feet were wrapped in gold stilettos. His mind traveled to thoughts that shouldn't even enter his mind.
"We are having a girls night Jed. Is there a problem with that?"
Malcolm snapped out of his stupor as Raye's voice cut through the fog that seemed to take over his brain.
"When you're both dressed like that, yes, there is a problem!"
Malcolm watched Mina simply check her purse, completely ignoring him.
"We're adults Jed. We were invited to a club tonight. We want to go."
Jed's anger seemed to boil over, "Who invited you?"
Raye rolled her eyes, "A guy."
"There is no way in hell you girls are going. Who knows what could happen."
Mina finally glanced up. Her sky blues eyes landed on Malcolm first, then turned towards her brother, "Then why don't you both join us?"
Mina turned as Raye seemed to hiss. She answered Raye with a wink.
Jed seemed to contemplate it for a moment, his eyes traveling over Raye, than he glanced at his sister. Turning towards Malcolm, Jed looked ready to plead, "Want to go Mal?"

Malcolm wasn't sure how he was talked into this. He watched the people dance to the blaring music, they bodies moving in slow sensual ways.
He turned and glared at Jed who sat beside Raye. None of them seemed comfortable, as Raye ripped the ginger ale Jed had brought her. Mina sat on the other side of Raye, her blue eyes wide, taking everything in. A small smile seemed to play on her lips. Malcom's eyes traveled to her crossed legs and he felt his pants grow smaller at the sight. Swallowing, he turned towards Jed, "How much longer will we have to stay?"
Jed glanced his way, "I told Mina she could have one dance before we left. She said she's just waiting for the right song."
Malcolm nodded as he took another swig of his beer. The music changed and he watched Mina stand out of the corner of his eye, "Raye! This is it. Come on!"
Mina grabbed a hold of Raye's wrist and dragged her towards the dance floor.
His ice blue eyes stayed on her as she and Raye entered the crowd. He took another gulp as his eyes became entranced by the way she began to move.
"I'm going to grab another drink, do you want one?"
Malcolm only nodded; his eyes glancing quickly back to where he last saw Mina.
At first he couldn't find them, standing, Malcolm narrowed his eyes as he searched the darken dance floor. Seeing the flash of gold on her dress, he breathed a sigh of relief until he saw the man move up behind her.
Jed returned, "I'm ready to go. What about you?"
Malcolm turned quickly, "That asshole is back. I'm going to get the girls."
Jed moved as well, "Where are they?"
Malcolm pointed to where Raye was dancing by herself; they watched her turn, confused not to find Mina behind her.
"You get Raye, I'll get Mina."
Jed seemed hesitant, Malcolm could see the struggle, "Don't worry. I'll get her. I'll meet you at the car."
Jed finally nodded and moved quickly towards the dance floor. Malcolm surveyed the room and saw Mina standing by the bar as goldie boy handed her a drink. The anger flared.

Mina heard herself laugh, though she was unsure why. The guy who had invited them had pulled her off the dance floor towards the bar, even before she could let Raye know where she was going. She had heard him ask if she was thirsty and felt the best answer was to nod. When he handed her an open drink, Mina frowned at the liquid in the glass.
She was always told to never accept an open drink from anyone, especially a random person. Placing the glass on the counter she gave a small smile. Her voice rose over the music, "Thanks, but I need to find my friend."
She felt a hand slip around her waist as his face loomed closer. The smell of alcohol had her pushing back, "Why in such a hurry babe? The party hasn't even begun yet."
Glaring, Mina pushed at his chest, "Let go of me."
"You play hard to get it. I like it."
Narrowing her eyes further, Mina kept her voice even, "I'm not playing anything. Let go of me. Now."
The man whom she hadn't even caught the name of simply sneered, "Where's the fun in that?"
Before she could yell any further, a hand clasped around her upper arm, yanking her from golden boy's grasps. She gasped at the force, knowing full well there would probably be a bruise on her arm in the morning. She turned to stare into the ice blue eyes of her savior.
She felt her body being shoved behind his much larger one.
"When a lady says to let her go, you let her go. Leave, before I decide to slam your face into the floor."
Mina's eyes widened at the threat. She glanced towards the other guy, watched him stare at the much larger man before him and then moved back, "We were just having fun. No harm done."
She heard what sounded like a growl emanate from Malcolm, as his hands caught the shirt of the idiot before them, "Leave."
He held up his hands in surrender and made a move to step back. Mina gasped as Malcolm seemed to shove him even further. Before she could say anything else, his hand wrapped around her wrist in a bruising grip and she felt herself being dragged from the bar and out the main door.
"What the hell is your deal, Malcolm?"
Mina felt herself tripping multiple times, her shorter legs having difficulty keeping up with his longer ones, the stilettos not helping.
He stopped abruptly; the only thing stopping Mina from falling over was his bruising grip.
"Are you an idiot? This is the reason why I did not want you to come! You would find the main douche bag in this city and accept an open drink from him! Was he the reason why you knew about this club?"
Mina felt like whimpering but held her ground, "I didn't accept his drink! And you have no right to talk to me like this! You're not my father, brother, boyfriend or husband! You have no rights over me. And so what if I wanted to come to this club tonight!"
She watched his nostrils flare as his grip seemed to tighten. He yanked her closer, "You are nothing but a child, unaware of the dangers you've placed yourself in tonight. If I didn't step in, there's no telling what would have happened."
The child comment had Mina's spine snapping straight. "I am not a child! And I don't need you protecting me. I can protect myself just fine."
She watched one of his eyebrows raise and a sneer graced his lips, "Really?"
Mina saw the challenge and glared back, "Really!"
She gasped once again as her body was pulled against his, leaving no space for air to pass. Remembrance from their first kiss filtering into her mind. She glanced up as her body shook with anticipation of whatever was to come.
His breath tickled her neck as he leaned down, shivering as his lips caressed her neck right below her ear. He seemed to linger for a second, then, as if it was ice being dumped on her head, he spoke, "You are fool, little girl."
With that, Mina felt his body being moved away, as his hand grasped her wrist once again dragging her towards the parking lot.
The tears stung as they gathered in her eyes. She wiped them clean as her brother and Raye came into view. She pulled her wrist and this time Malcolm released her.
Raye shot her a worried expression as they climbed into the limo that awaited them. Afraid of what she would say in front of her brother, Mina refused to make eye contact, instead, focusing on the bright lights that flashed outside the windows.
"Happy? You girls got your girls night out. Is it out of your system now?"
Mina could only nod.

Tuesday Morning
Mina stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep as the sun slowly crept over the horizon. She glanced to her left as Raye snored softly in the other queen size bed. Sighing, she shifted the covers off and stretched. Closing the blinds, Mina made her way quietly downstairs.
Malcolm heard the rustling in the kitchen and glared at the clock beside his bed. 6:00am blared back in deep red. Knowing he wouldn't be able to fall back asleep, especially after the last dream he had, Malcolm swung his long legs over the bed and made his way out to the kitchen.
His silver blue eyes narrowed as he watched Mina sit indian style on the counter, eating a bowl of cereal. He grunted a slight good morning as he made his way to the coffee machine. Picking hazel nut, he placed his cup underneath the keruig machine and leaned against the counter, his eyes wondering over her night time attire.
Small light pink shorts covered little as a matching tank top covered her top half. He swallowed as he noticed she wasn't wearing a bra.
"Did you sleep well?" Malcolm slammed his lips shut, knowing he shouldn't try with a conversation. Conversations only seemed to encourage her.
Mina simply shoved another spoonfull of honey nut cheerios in her mouth, her sky blue eyes glancing his way.
"No. You?"
Malcolm grabbed his coffee as the machine beeped, "Not really."
Sipping his coffee, Malcolm wondered how such a slip of a girl could make him lose all train of thought. He had dated supermodels, law students, hell, even a cop, and none of them made him nervous. But no, this slip of a girl in light pink pajamas and golden hair seemed to drain his brain of any coherent thoughts. His eyes involuntarily moved back over her. She looked beautiful last night, though he knew he could never actually tell her that. His mind had conjured up multiple scenarios as he watched her dance; all of which ended with them in his bed. He sighed deeply, scrubbing his eyes in the process.
"I wanted to say that what I said to last night was unfair. I had a few drinks and wasn't thinking clearly."
Mina didn't respond as she hoped off the counter, reaching for the box of cheerios.
Malcolm admitted that he wasn't used to being ignored, especially by her. So when she poured another bowl and moved back to her original spot, Malcolm felt his anger rise a little.
"I'm trying to apologize Mina, the least you could do is acknowledge it."
When her response was to place the bowl on the counter and hop back on, Malcolm stepped forward.
He hadn't meant to corner her, really, he hadn't. He just watched her beautiful blue eyes widen slightly at his close proximity. His mind filtered his dreams from the night back to the forefront of his memories, and before he even realized what he was doing, he slid his hand behind her neck and brought her face to his.
He heard her soft gasp as his lips descended upon hers. He couldn't help the moan that moved past his own lips as the taste of her flooded his senses for the second time in his life.
When her inexperience lips moved in union with his, he thought he had died and tasted heaven.
The sound of a door opening had Malcolm pulling away quickly, remembering where they were and who they were with. His silver blue eyes locked with hers then lowered to her thoroughly kissed lips.
The sound of Jed yawning as he came down the stairs broke the spell completely.
Mina grabbed her cereal bowl and shoved a few spoonfuls in her mouth as Malcolm moved to the other side of the kitchen.
"Morning you two. Didn't think anyone else would be up this early." Mina watched her brother glance around as he moved towards the coffee machine.
"Couldn't sleep."
Jed's only response was to yawn again.
