Chapter Three
Scorpion Slytherin
I watched my son fall and heard Lucius cast the killing curse on the youngest Weasley boy, his voice low. The boy fell, caught by his screaming mother. Molly raised her wand, aiming to attack us, but her son cut her off. Grabbing her by the arm, he apparated her and his brother's corpse out of the kicthen. When they were gone we all looked at each other, dropping down to Jinxx's side. He was breathing but barely. There were no scars and every diagnostic spell we cast showed only that he was unconcious. Still, our attempts to wake him came up empty.
"We need to get him back to the Manor. Bellatrix is waiting there, she's trained as Medi-Witch. She'll know more than we will." Narcissa said, heading for the door.
"All right. Cissa, apparate back there and tell the elves to clear out a room for us. Take down the apparation wards so that we can apparate directly into the manor. When you've done that come back here and let us know." Lucius agreed, getting to his feet once more.
We stood in silence, waiting for Cissa's return. As we were waiting, more voices began heading towards us. More this time. Those of us that remained raised our wands and waited to see who was coming. Arthur, Charlie, Bill, Fred, George, and Ginny Weasley entered the kitchen unarmed followed by Hermione Granger, also unarmed.
"What do you want?" Lilith asked, her voice strained.
"To help you. Molly, Ronald, and Percy were sent here to obliviate Harry and kill the rest of you. We were told to help but, after finding out what Dumbledore did, we decided to go against. Molly showed up a few seconds ago with Percy. When she told me what they'd done I cast her out of the family and came here." Arthur said, his eyes showing nothing but truth.
"He's telling the truth, Lil. He means to help us." I told my wife easily, lowering my wand.
"Are you certain?"
"I'm certain."
Cissa popped back then, taking quick note of the scene. "We're ready. Go ahead and apparate into my sitting room."
"All right. Go ahead and prepare medical supplies. Scorpion and Lily will be along with Jinxx first. The rest will follow after." Lucius said, looking around the room.
Looking at the Weasley's and Hermione he said, "Apparate to Malfoy Manor. It'll take you directly to Cissa's sitting room. We'll talk there, where it's safe."
Arthur nodded, taking his daughter's hands.
Grabbing Jinxx, I held Lily's hand and apparated into Cissa's sitting room. She gestured to a bed in the middle of the room and I set Jinxx on it. As everyone began to make their entrances, Lucius called for Draco to join us and slammed the door shut the second the youngest Malfoy entered. For a moment it was silent; we were all focused on Bellatrix's examination of my son. When she looked up at us, her features were confused.
"I'm not getting anything. He seems to be simply unconcious." She said, her features troubled.
Bill Weasley spoke, his voice quiet. "May I take a look? I might be able to discern the curse Ron used. If I do that, I may know how to treat him."
"Of course." Lily answered, squeezing my hand.
The eldest Weasley went over to my son and cast a few silent spells. When he looked up his eyes were wide with shock. Beckoning Charlie to join him, he cast several more. Finally, after what seemed like a century, they looked up at us.
"Ron cast a Transforming Spell. Salazar Slytherin came up with it himself. Originally the spell was intended to show a person's true nature or bring out a certain quality. Since Salazar was part Dragon-Shifter the spell brings that side out in his descendants. Jinxx is now a Dragon Shifter. The only one in the world." Charlie said, shocked.
"Why would Ron use that spell? He wanted to harm not help." Arthur asked.
"He didn't want to harm. He was helping his best mate the only way he knew how. Even if Mr. Malfoy hadn't cast the Killing Curse on him, he would have died. The spell took too much of his magical energy. In all actuality, he was doing something most wouldn't dream of." Hermione Granger said, eyes watering.
I stared at them, processing what this meant. My son was now a Dragon-Shifter, the last of his kind. When he woke up he would have powers most of us would never even dream of. He would eventually find a soul-mate and that mate would turn into a Shifter as well. When he had children, he would pass on his gene to them. Most importantly, he was now stronger than Dumbledore and Voldemort put together. As I stared at my son, he began to move. Finally, his eyes shot open and he looked around the room until he found one face. When he spoke his voice was an echoing whisper.
"Draco...Draco...Mate..."
In that instant a million things changed. Draco's form changed before our very eyes. Where Draco had once stood there was now a large silver dragon with golden eyes. Jinxx's Dragon form took over at the same instant. They stood face-to-face, a Jet black dragon with crystal blue eyes holding the silver dragon. No one spoke, no one breathed. We were captivated by the display...
Author's Note: Now you know the truth. Ron was never trying to hurt Jinxx at all, he was sacrificing himself for his best mate. Draco IS Jinxx's mate. Neither of them will fight this fact. For one they don't really want to and for two they have better things to do. I hope you liked it. If you did, review and tell me why. If not, review and tell me what I can do to make it better. Thanks for reading!
