Chapter 4 – A Rough Morning Part Two (Arryn's Reason)

Quick Note: I've found fanfics in which Panty and Stocking are in romantic relationships with Scanty and Kneesocks, so what you read in this chapter would probably be a little less, if not just as crazy as those are.

Arryn and Kneesocks both had a firm hold on the book they both wanted to purchase, neither showing any signs of releasing the book.

The two made eye contact and Kneesocks immediately grew angry. "Release this book this instant, Halfblood," Scanty ordered. "My sister saw it first."

"Or we could just buy the book and determine who gets the book in a calm fashion," Arryn suggested. His calm attitude towards them caught the Demon Sisters off guard.
"Why aren't you angry?" Kneesocks questioned, still gripping the book tightly. "Should I be angry? You haven't mocked my parents or touched on any sensitive topics YET. Plus, I've got no reason to fight you at this moment. If you two really want this book, we can settle this calmly." Kneesocks and Scanty gave him confused glances and even Stocking was surprised by his casual attitude toward two individuals of whose lives he had threatened just yesterday.

Kneesocks refused to release her grip on the book, but Arryn smiled blissfully. "Kneesocks, was it?" The demon girl nodded her head. "We'd better go buy this book. I'll pay for it." Just as Arryn had brought the book to the register to purchase it, Kneesocks stopped him. "Wait! We aren't going to determine who buys it? The one who buys it is the one who owns it. That's one of our rules!"
Arryn thought for a moment. "Alright then. Ma'am, keep this book on hold for us until we settle this, please." The woman at the counter nodded and put the book under the counter. "So how are we going to settle this?" Stocking asked. "We fight, clearly!" Scanty declared.
"If you're really adamant about fighting, I don't mind, but only on the condition that me and Kneesocks are the only combatants," Arryn said. "After all, we're the ones who want the book. Is that okay with you, Kneesocks?"

"How do I know you won't call on that filthy Angel for help?" Kneesocks demanded. "I don't give a shit about that book, dumbass," Stocking huffed, "So even if he did, I wouldn't help him." Arryn chuckled at Stocking's bluntness. "So do we have a deal, Kneesocks?"

"Oh, very well, I will accept your terms, Halfblood, but I will have my eye on you."

"Scanty, Stocking, you two stay here and make sure that the young lady at the counter doesn't forget about the book. And no fighting, alright? Me and Kneesocks have a reason to fight each other, but you two don't, so keep it peaceful." Stocking and Scanty huffed and waved the Halfblood away. "I'll be rooting for you, sister," Scanty said. "I won't root for either of them," Stocking said.

Kneesocks and Arryn exited the bookstore and looked around. "What would be a good place to fight without causing any property damage," Arryn pondered. "I've only ever really fought within the city and that's merely because those Angel sisters were constantly getting in me and my dear sister's way," Kneesocks said matter-of-factly.

"Well, we can't fight in front of the church. Garter would flip out if he saw me bringing a Demon over."

"Please do not say that as if I am dating someone like you," the demon grumbled. "Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean it like that; promise. So any ideas where we can fight?"
"The location of Dark Arkade," Kneesocks suggested. "It's going to be demolished and turned into a convenience store anyways, so it won't matter if we destroy the building in the process. It'll just save us money anyways."
"Oh, good idea, Kneesocks." Arryn pat her on the shoulder and her face turned pink. "Huh? Are…you blushing?"

"I blush easily," she admitted.

Arryn chuckled and headed off towards Gemini. "This is Gemini, my ride," he said, climbing on. "I will not seat myself on that motorcycle," Kneesocks said before giving a whistle. Fastener came driving G-String. "You may ride in this vehicle just this once, Halfblood. Be grateful." Arryn shrugged, leaving his motorcycle and got into the vehicle. "This car's pretty nice," he muttered. "Of course it is!"

Fastener drove the car after Kneesocks gave him their destination. "So, Arryn is your name, correct?"

"Yeah. Arryn Enju. You can call me Scarf if you want," he replied with a smile.
"Why did you say that you had no reason to fight me when we saw each other back there? It makes no sense. You fought both me and my sister just yesterday and it was clear you saw us as enemies. If we're enemies, you have a reason to fight us."
Arryn shook his head and said, "I don't see it that way. I only fought you once and the only reason I showed you so much hostility is because you didn't tread lightly when you mentioned my parents. I'm a Halfblood. I've got Demon blood and Angel blood in me. I'm not going to treat the Demons with any less respect than I treat the Angels."

"You just continue to surprise me," the Demon said. "You hunt Ghosts. If that's so, then you're just going to fight us again, so why-?"
"It's because the only reason I'm hunting Ghosts in the first place is so that I can see my mother again. If I could see her at any time I wanted, I wouldn't be fighting you or your sister or the Ghosts. I might fight one every now and then, but for the most part, I'd just mind my own business."
"You really are strange."
"Is that so wrong?"
"Of course it is. Rules are made for a reason. You should follow the rules set out for you, or there would be no natural order," Kneesocks argued.
"I'm a Halfblood, remember? I've already broken a rule by existing in the first place, so why should any other rule made by either Demons or Angels ever apply to me?"

"You raise a point. So then live by your own rules. It can't be too hard to create a few for yourself."

"You and your sister really love your rules, don't you," he said with a laugh, rolling the r in mock imitation of the Demon Sisters. G-String came to a stop and Kneesocks and Arryn climbed out of the vehicle.
Fastener drove off to make sure that G-String wasn't caught up in the battle. It was time to fight.

Author's Note:

Hey guys! Another quick chapter written. I can really crank these things out, can't I? Of course, how quickly they're made doesn't matter, it's the quality of the content. In this case, I really hope that you enjoy what I write.
Onwards! In regards to Scanty and Kneesocks, I wanted to have Kneesocks say, "I blush easily." At least once.
And by the way, some of you may have a problem with the Demon Sisters' somewhat docile attitudes in these chapters, but please bear with me in this, okay?

Another thing. For those of you who want less serious chapters that are more akin to the original series, I plan on coming out with a few filler chapters that are purely for comedy purposes. I already have one in production titled, "Taste of Destruction."
Thanks for reading. Comments are appreciated.
