Chapter 3: The Guild
The sun finally rise above the sky of Seikastu valley and the Guild, brining a new day for inhabits of this world and all who live here. Business begin to open, townspeople are coming out from their home, and especially for the guild members to start a brand new day. Petals falling off the branches of the Sakura tree, on to the campus ground almost like snow but instead white its pink. Two young teenager are racing down with each other on the rode of pink petals.
After Serah Farron told Akira and her friends that their mentor, Lighting Farron, want them to head over to the main castle know as the Guild Academy, is sort of likeschool but learn to fights, survival lessons, first-aid, and other kind skills to becoming a member. Akira, Lucy and Robin been going to this school for a year already, they all have same classes together and get to live in the dormitory building.
Robin was in the lead, Akira was in second, and Lucy and Ren are in third. The young look behide his friends. A cocky smirk appear on his face that he was winning; Ren's golden eye narrowed when saw Robin's cocky smirk.
"Don't let birdbrain win-Nya!" Ren told Lucy.
Lucy turn her head to see Ren's face,"I'll try."
Akira manage to keep up with Robin, they are neck to neck. They look each other eyes with pure determination, the two fastest teens are almost reach to the finish line. Akira and Robin sprints at the same time but Robin pass the imaginary finished line.
"Ha! I win!" Robin cheer for his victory.
"I get you next time, Robin." Akira swear when she got second place and playfully puch Robin's arm. It's actually fun to race against her friends. At time she would beat Robin but he beat her today.
Lucy manage catch up to Robin and Akira as well, but left her breathless from running," Are you okay?" He said with concern for Lucy.
"I'm fine Robin... you...shouldn't worry about me." Lucy said between her breaths.
"Oh...okay, are you sure?" Robin ask on again.
"Im-" when she about speak.
Ren appear again,"You shouldn't be running that fast bird-brain-Nya!" He said a bit angrily at Robin.
"Guys..." Lucy begin to worry they would make a scene.
A small sigh was let out . Here we go again. She thought.
"At least she able to do some workout while you just sat on her shoulder, Kittypet!" Robin called Ren 'Kittypet'. That made gijikan to hissed angrily at Robin.
"Guys..."Lucy try to speak but been cut off.
"BIRD Brain!"
"KITTYpet!."
Both Robin and Ren begin call each other names. While Lucy just standing in the middle of a name-calling-battle. The two female, Akira just stand there with her arms crossed while Lucy shut her greenish-blue eyes so she doesn't watch this scene, her face begin to heat up ,and a vain pulse appear on her forehead. She started get really annoy, after few seconds has pass.
After many names called from Robin and Ren. They got a few stare from passerby of this awkward situation. Lucy let out a frustrating groan and then she snap.
"Bir-"
"Well you two knock it OFF!" Lucy holler, both Ren and Robin flinch of Lucy sudden outburst,"We wasted are time just you to called each other stupid names!" Lucy nearly yell top off her voice.
Her heated face is now cooling down after yelling at two boys; Ren and Robin look a bit terrified, Lucy has a very short-temper when she get annoy.
"Sorry..." Both Ren and Robin look down to their feet, avoiding to see Lucy's angry-look.
When Lucy heard their apologize, her face soften also a bit of guilt after she yelled at them.
"Guys, I'm sorry that I-" Lucy try to apologize.
"No Lucy, it was are fault. We acted like dumb kids." Robin said curtly.
"Yeah-Nya," Ren nuzzle his face on Lucy's cheek on the right side.
Lucy couldn't get mad at Ren and Robin, forever. Their both her best friends when they were kids. Even though that Ren and Robin would go start a fight whenever they did something get them mad or annoy. Once they all have calm down.
"Let try to have a nice morning." Lucy said happily.
"Alright!" Robin said with a bit of sing-song voice.
"Birdie," Ren smirk.
Lucy glare,"Please don't..."
"sorry..."Ren's smirk wass gone when he see Lucy glaring at him.
"Are you guys are done arguing." Akira finnaly spoke that caught her friends attention. At first they were kinda embarrassed of their childish actions earlier but soon they begin to laugh a bit liked it was just a joke. They noded yes and head to the castle.
The small group of friends heading toward the main entrance of the castle. There some older and young members of the guild. There was variety of attire the grow up are wearing like cloaks, armored, or jumpsuit. While most young members, the trainees dressed in their uniforms; golden colored tunic with a white shirts underneath, white pants tunk in their brown combat boots,and also wear a belt. They are minding their own business until Akira and her friends appear. Some of the trainees have mean looks at them but mostly on Akira.
"Hey look is twiggy."
"How can those two and that hybrid hangout with her."
"Mmph I bet she cheated her way in."
"Can you believe that girl manage to join the guild?"
"I bet she can't handle her own fights."
"I heard that her own brother left her here and never came back for her."
Whispers from the young members criticizing about Akira. It made her clench her hands into fists and rolled her eyes. Do they have something better to do then saying stupid stuff. Akira thought, angrily. Ever sense she join the guild some would tease her for some particular reasons that she doesn't know why? Unless they just want start a fight or be those annoying teenagers who go to school that like to placed some-sort of popularity and pick on other students. Her thought clouded by her grudge until she felt a gentle touch on her shoulder. She turn head to see a comforting smile on Lucy, Ren, and Robin.
"Don't let them get to you."
"Yeah they are just dumbs."
Her friends, Robin and Lucy are saying a few encouraging words whenever like this happen. They know that some members would always like to pick on Akira. But lucky for Akira- she have friends like them who always be there whenever feeling they finally arrive to the castle like mansion that have a red bander with golden trim and needlwork of star design. Standing at the entrances was a familiar young woman with pink hair and gunblade attach to her holster.
"Hey Lightning!" Akira call her mentor's name and wave at her happily.
"Mmph- you three came a little late. " Lightning said with a serious tone voice like always.
"We're here Light. Don't start getting cold at us early." Robin said. It cause Lightning to glare at Robin and he froze in fear of Lightning's death glare. She have tendency to get mad when she get annoy.
"I'll deal with you later." Lightning growl at the end.
"Wait a go bird brain-Nya!" Ren smugly look at Robin.
They enter the castle, the entrance was foyer. The wallls paited golden yello and white column that hold the second floor. On the wall of the step that split into two board with papers and picture also two words written in bold letters that said 'Quest' and 'Outlaws'. There was many members who work for the are waiting and leaving for there mission. Lightning to lead her students to the right direction of the large building.
"Hey Lightning. Can you tell why we have come here sooner then usual time schedule?" Akira said.
"Alan want to meet you three." Lightning explain to her trainees.
"Wait...you mean Alan the Guild Leader!?" Akira ask.
"Yes, now fallow me and don't get separated. This place is big and don't want lose any of you three getting lost like last time." Lightning said and lead the group into the castle.
They went upstairs and went to the east wing of the castle. Walking down the long hall that have big portrait on wall, lights coming from window on the left side. After walking down the east wing hall, they stop at a big wooden door with elegant carving of zigzags, waves, and swirls. Lightning knock the door if someone was in there.
"Come in," A male voice speak from the other side.
Lightning open the large door and inside is a big room with a two bookcases fill with books, on the back of the wall was large-framed map that show the mountains, coast, forest, and plain field area. and also show different towns with their names. There was a also a older man was standing in the room and be hide him was his desk and his chair.
"Hello Lightning, you finally brought your trainees." The older said with a smile.
"Guild leader Alan!" Akira, Ren, Lucy, Robin, except Lightning said formally.
"Just but called me Alan. I glans to see you three and Ren too."Alan glance at the three trainee for a moment then he spoke again."You three and also Ren- even though you are unofficial member but show great loyalty to your friends. You all been in the guild for years now and I heard good reviews from your mentor."
"Um... Thank you sir." Akira said bashfully and rub the back of her head. It was kinda odd that Lightning can ably say something so nice.
Alan let out a small chuckle,"There no need to feel to be formal. I like to be treated as a friend."
"oh...okay, Alan."
"Now let get to the point." Alan started. The underling are now paying attention to him."Like I said before. I wonder is Lightning have treated you well?"
"yes." Akira and her friends answers.
"I gland to hear." Alan said with a smile."Most trainees always complain when they train with Ms. Farron."When he mention that, the underling and Ren try to hold their laughter. Lightning just roll her icy-blue eyes.
"Can we save the chit-chat for later. Just tell them the real reason why they here." Lightning said,coldly.
"I was getting to that, Ms. Farron. Now than, I want to see you three triain with Lighting."
"Huh-why?" Lucy ask.
"I want to see each of your strength and how well you are train. Who know- I might make you three full fledge fighters sooner then other trainees." Alan said, hinted to the students the reals reasons to see them this early. He know those three we'll become excellent but first he want to see each of their streangth and weaknesses.
The three trainees smiles with excitement. Their going to be full fledge fight fighters soon! Akira and her friends have always dreams to be finally going on adventures, fighting monsters, helping other, and expedition.
"Seriously!?" Robin ask, excidently.
The guild leader just nod his head which mean "yes" as his answer. The three young trainees eyes beging to beamed with pure joy. Lightning couldn't help it but feel pround of her students that she taught for years. Her students training well pay off soon. Depending how well they perform front of Alan.
"When can we start?" Akira ask.
"How about now."Once Alan finished sharing his information to his members.
