Chapter 4: Power Rangers in Action

One day at Alfea College for Fairies, the boys were busy playing with their baby Zords as it is the weekend and the there are no classes that day. Lee was playing keyboard music for his Electric Dragonzord even though he knew he still needed practice; Taylor was practicing on his surfboard with the Water Dragonzord on his shoulder; Joshua was playing video games with the Air Dragonzord; Phillip was playing Hackensack with the Earth Dragonzord; and Matt was playing football with the Fire Dragonzord.

"Man, having baby Zords is so much fun," said Matt, having fun with his Zord.

"You can say that again," said Taylor, trying to make sure his little Zord didn't have a wipeout t on his watch."

"How long do you think I'll take for them to become teenagers," asked Phillip.

"Lee said it might not take long," said Joshua, "Apparently, dragons are the only magical creatures he doesn't have knowledge about." He was thankful Lee couldn't hear them through his headphones otherwise he would've electrocuted the lot of them by now for he had a short fuse.

"Well, Atlas said that it would be a couple of weeks before they're ready," said Matt, "In the meantime, I'm just having fun being a fairy and I can't wait to have more action as a Power Ranger."

"Yeah," said Phillip, "Maybe Lee could give us a few tips on our colors." Phillip, with his Zord in tow, walked up to the small African American and gently pulled his headphones off in order to get his attention.

"Hey, bud," Phillip said in the boy's ear, "We need some tips about our ranger colors." Lee was surprised when he heard this from Phillip, but he was happy to help anyway.

"Well," said Lee, "The red ranger is the leader of the team, almost like a lion in a pride, they also have the most powerful weapons for most it's a sword. The blue ranger is usually a comic relief, except the original blue ranger, who was the smart one of the group. The black ranger is, sometimes, second in command; and Joshua, from what I know, you're the very first male Pink Ranger in history."

"I am," asked Joshua, who looked almost shocked and surprised when he heard that.

"Yeah, usually the Pink Ranger's a female."

"Oh. Well, what about you?"

"The yellow ranger's usually the morale booster."

"Ah," said Joshua, though the entire group still couldn't get used to Lee's freaky knowledge about the Power Rangers.

Meanwhile in Orion, Princess Alchemy was sitting on her throne looking very agitated. Ciena, in her human form, looked up at her in concern.

"Is everything alright, your highness," asked Ciena.

"I just don't understand why we can't get our hands on that crystal," exclaimed Alchemy, "That talisman should be in my hands by now in order to complete my plans. I know the Jinx have their own agenda, which is to rule the entire Magic Dimension, like ones before them tried to do so in the past. But, come on!"

"With all due respects, your majesty, you know as well as I do that Heart of Magix, like the Heart of any other world, can't be taken by force, but with the bearer's consent."

"I know that, but there is no way that mere child will give it to us willingly unless we force him to do so. But, there may be a way." Alchemy then realized something.

"Ciena," said Alchemy suddenly, "Do you know exactly what happened to that Troll?"

"The Winx teleported him somewhere, but I don't know where," said Ciena. Alchemy, then, threw black smoke at a circle behind Ciena and then, the Hunter Troll reappeared from it.

"Welcome back," said Alchemy, "We need your help."

The next day, at the Alfea College for Fairies, a Red Fountain aircraft arrived on campus and Headmaster Saladin exited along with a Specialist with brown hair and blue eyes. He wore a typical Red Fountain uniform, except…he was barefoot. The female Witch Club members spotted him and Karsyn was eagerly excited.

"Zach," called Karsyn as she ran over and hugged her boyfriend.

"Hey, babe," said Zach Scott Wilbur, "How are you?"

"I'm okay," replied Karsyn, "You?"

"Not too well," said Zach sadly.

"Why? What's wrong?"

"A prisoner escaped somehow."

"Um, which prisoner, exactly?"

"The Hunter Troll," said Zach quickly and the girls gasped.

"This isn't the same one that attacked Matt and the others, is it," asked Keehly, but Zach just nodded.

"That is why we have come," said Mr. Saladin, "Do you know where they are."

"They're in their dorm," said Shelby.

"Tell them to meet me in Ms. Faragonda's office," said Saladin as he walked in the building. Zach and the girls ran up quickly to the boys' room, in hopes of finding them.

In Ms. Faragonda's office, Saladin had already explained the situation to Ms. Faragonda, who was pacing around in her office waiting for the boys. They finally showed up.

"You wanted to see us," asked Matt.

"Yes," said Ms. Faragonda, "Please, come in." The rangers entered the office and sat in the chairs and let Mr. Saladin explain. They were shocked to hear about the situation.

"The troll…escaped," asked Joshua in shock and disbelief.

"I'm afraid so," said Mr. Saladin with a sad look on his face.

"Do you know where he is now," asked Taylor.

"We had a message saying that he and several golems had been spotted in Black Mud Swamp."

"Oh no," said Lee in terror, "Professor Palladium took some of our friends down there to study the Voice of Nature."

"We have to stop that troll before he hurts someone," said Phillip.

"I agree," said Ms. Faragonda, "For this mission, you will need your Dragon Ranger powers. I feel that they may be strong enough to defeat the troll as you still need training with your Charmix powers."

"Use the Heart of Magix to activate your morphers," said Mr. Saladin, "It will help you morph into Power Rangers."

"Thanks, sir," said Matt as he and the other rangers ran out of the office, "We won't let you down."

Meanwhile, back at Cloud Tower, Alchemy was having a conversation with the Jinx.

"That useless beast," asked Icion in shock and disgust, "From what you told us, he didn't even manage to destroy Bloom."

"Yes, but I had to free him," said Alchemy, "There are some Alfea students in Black Mud Swamp and I am sure that he can use them to lure the Rangers out."

"I'm just glad you got him out before he could tell the authorities," said Stormien, "If the Specialists would've took him to the police, he'd spill the beans and tell everyone about your agenda."

"Exactly," said Alchemy, "Which is why you must help him defeat the Rangers and get the Heart of Magix."

"You got it," said Icion as he and his brothers changed into their Wizard outfits and flew out the window.

Meanwhile, in Black Mud Swamp, Professor Palladium was with Gage, Fernando, Josh King, Josh Roberts, Will, Justin, Seth, Wyatt, and Sam were walking towards a clearing, unaware that they were being stalked by the Troll. He was afraid that his cover would be blown as soon as he saw the very same kids that helped lock him away running towards Palladium and the students.

"It's a good thing you came," said Palladium, worried, "But, are you sure you're ready to face him again."

"We're sure," said the rangers in unison. It was then that 10 ice golems, 10 shadow golems, 10 storm golems, 10 insect golems, and 10 serpent golems all jumped out of nowhere and surrounded the students.

"Magic Winx! Charmix!"

They all transformed into their Charmix forms and attacked the golems head on. Matt, Fernando, and Sam went against the ice golems, Phillip, Will, and Seth against the insect golems, all three Joshuas against the storm golems, Taylor, Justin, and Palladium against the serpent golems, and Lee, Gage, and Wyatt against the shadow golems.

Matt and Fernando melted eight of the ice golems, while Sam used his gravitational powers against the other two, trapping them in a gravity field and throwing them towards a tree.

Phillip used his nature abilities to ask the forest for help with his five insect golems, which is where giant Venus Flytraps come in, while in the meantime, Will was using his illusion powers on, causing them to hallucinate and see a giant monster ready to stomp them with the golems distracted Seth fired a beam of cosmic energy at the other five and killed them.

While the storm golems had the upper hand temporarily, Joshua Calloway gained it by throwing a tornado at five of the ghouls and Joshua King and Joshua Roberts fired beams of music and hearts at the other five and instantly destroyed them.

Taylor flies over a mud puddle and Palladium summons a sphere of some kind and traps the serpent golems in it and throws above the water, while Taylor successfully drowned five of them and Justin flies upward towards the sphere and fires a sonic waves at the other five.

Last was the shadow golems, who were rounded up by Gage's storm cloud lasso. Lee and Wyatt, then, combine their Electrokinetic powers and electrocuted all of the shadow ghouls until they exploded. The students cheered in victory as they landed back to the ground.

"Justin," said Prof. Palladium, "You'd better get everyone back to Alfea." The students left and the rangers were left with only Palladium, Gage, and Fernando.

"Trolls don't use magic, especially to summon ghouls," said Palladium, "I believe that Ciena and the Jinx are helping that him.

"No doubt about that," said Taylor as the others nodded just then the troll jumped out from the bushes and faced the boys head on.

"Boys," said Palladium, "It's time to use your new ranger powers."

"Got it," said Lee as he threw the crystal high in the sky. Matt got in between Joshua and Taylor and said: "It's Morphin' Time!"

"Go! Go! Dragon Force," the boys called as the Heart of Magix glowed in a blinding white light and struck the boys with multicolored lights like a prism, as soon as they pressed the button they were in their ranger forms. This had the troll scared but he regained his composure and began to charge at the rangers.

"Come on, Rangers," said Matt, "Let's see what these powers can do."

"Right," said the other four rangers as all five of them attacked the Troll head on. They threw multiple punches and kicks at the Troll, but they only managed to do minor damage while the troll easily knocked them back without any effort. That's when Lee remembered that the five core rangers usually carry side arms. He felt his sides and felt a gun on his left hip. He pulled it out and it fired a yellow energy beam at the troll and damaged him a little, but not enough. The other rangers got out their guns and blasted him with their own colored energy beams and it did sufficient damaged to him. But, the troll wasn't beat yet.

"We're gonna need some weapons," Matt said as the Heart glowed again summoning their weapons. For Matt, a fiery sword; For Phillip, an axe from the earth; For Joshua, Tessen fans made out of air; For Taylor, a staff made of water; and for Lee, a archer's bow made of electricity.

"Nice," said Matt, "Come on, Rangers, let's do this."

"Right," the others called as the rangers jumped into their air and all of a sudden, the eye on the heads of the morphers glowed, and suddenly wings sprouted from their backs. Matt had wings made of fire; Phillip had wings made of earthen objects (as in rocks and stone); Joshua had wings made of wind; Taylor had wings made of water; and Lee had wings made of electricity. The rangers were surprised.

"Where did these wings come from," asked Joshua, who was still in shock. Lee looked down his arm and made a big realization.

"The morphers," said Lee. The rangers were surprised, but that short lived as they were being hurdled by the Trolls attacks. The Heart of Magix flew back around Lee's neck and continued to glow for a while until it had finally faded.

"Come on, rangers," said Matt, "Let's get this guy."

"Right, said Phillip and Joshua.

"Morphin," said Taylor and Lee as Matt flew towards the troll and slashed him with his sword. Phillip and Taylor fly to the troll and hit him with the axe and the staff.

"You can fire arrows with the bow," said Joshua, "But, what can I do with these fans."

"Throw them," said Lee as he got his bow and arrow ready. Joshua got ready and he threw his fans as Lee fired an arrow and they both hit the troll and knocked him back. Their friends were amazed as well as Palladium. But, just as they started to celebrate they were attacked by black beams of dark energy and fell to the ground. Gage and Fernando flew towards them when they saw the Jinx flying towards them and Ciena slithering towards them. The rangers recovered quickly but only to be blasted again by Stormien's lightning bolt. Palladium ran to get in front of the rangers in order to surround them with a barrier.

"I knew you five were behind this," said Palladium enraged that they attacked his students. The rangers recovered in time to see what their attackers. Ciena, then, destroyed the shield with her tail, knocking Palladium out in the process, and grabbed him. The rangers tried to draw their weapons, but they were blasted out of their hands by Stormien.

"Don't even try it," said Ciena, "The crystal, please?" Ciena extended her hand, but as she did, she was hit in the head by a blast of light, which was revealed to be coming from Karsyn, who was in her fairy form, joined by the other Witch Club members, who were also in their fairy forms. Palladium came to and ran away from the unconscious snake and back in front of the rangers, while Gage and Fernando took to the sky to join their friends.

"Good thing you guys showed up when you did," said Fernando.

"Justin told us you guys were left here so we flew down here as quick as we could," said Ben. The Jinx, who were also blasted by Karsyn, recovered and saw the others. Stormien flew up towards the other Witch Club members and trapped Karsyn, Abby, Keehly, and Shelby in a tornado. Gage tried to stop it, but was blasted to the ground by the rest of the Jinx and it was so powerful that he was forced back into his human form.

"Gage," shouted Lee as he tried to run to the weather fairy but was stopped by a blast of ice and lightning from Icion and Stormien, respectively, and Insecto summoned a swarm of bees to trap corner the rangers as Ciena came to. Fernando tried to fly to Gage but was grabbed by Ciena, who was enraged that she was attacked by a mere freshman fairy. Jay, Clay, Kendal, Josh Cassidy, Ben, Andishaeh, and Remi tried to help but were held back by Darkar's dark energy field. Stormien, who had left the twister to finish the girls, and flies towards Gage, who was on the ground and weak. As soon as he came to, he was caught between a rock and a hard place.

"Give up the crystal, kid, or your friend gets electrocuted to death," Stormien demanded the yellow ranger.

"No, Lee," said Gage, "Don't do it. Don't give them the Heart." Stormien was getting annoyed by his bravery and decides to attack anyway. Kendal, who had a deep connection with Gage, flew towards Darkar and punched him in the face and flew towards Stormien and Gage. The rangers were unfortunately too busy attacking the bees and couldn't reach Gage. Gage closed his eyes as Stormien fired a powerful lightning bolt, but he realized that he hasn't been attacked yet and opens on eye and, to his horror, sees Kendal in front of him and it's pretty obvious that he had taken the blow for Gage.

"Kendal," cried Gage as his friend fell to the ground, weak and completely comatose. Palladium, the group, and the rangers were in shock as Fernando angrily gave Ciena's tail a massive case of sunburn and raced over to Gage, who was sobbing and trying to wake up his friend. The group was also enraged, Shelby used her powers to wrap the Stormien in constricting vines, which caused her and the rest of the girls to get released from her trap. Jay teleports himself and the others of the dark field and races towards the bees and help Palladium and the rangers make quick work of them. The group raced towards the other boys as Kendal suddenly began to glow a pink color as the rose up into a pink cocoon of light. The group was surprised.

"What's going on," asked Remi in complete shock.

"Enchantix," whispered Lee as Kendal finally emerged from the cocoon with an entirely different appearance. His sleeveless shirt was replaced with a tank top that was yellow orange tangerine orange and his shorts were outrageous orange. His boots have also disappeared and have been replaced with orange flip flops and he had elbow length gloves that were ruby colored. His wings had grown big and were now shaped like butterfly wings in a way. They were pink and purple with orange bejeweled outlining and pink heart-shaped jewels hanging off of them. His bangs were also split with just one hanging above his forehead.

"Woah," said Joshua Calloway, "Would you look at that."

"Awesome," said Clay as Kendal opened his eyes and turned to face Ciena and the Jinx.

"Alright," said Kendal, "Now I'm gonna show you what happens when you mess with my friends." As he became surrounded by pink energy and the Jinx and Alchemy were in shock.

"Aw, man," said Icion.

"Love Storm," shouted Kendal as he fired a giant beam of hearts at the Jinx and Alchemy and blasted them back to Cloud Tower and Orion, respectively. Kendal then landed and hugged Gage.

"Are you okay," asked Kendal.

"Yeah," said Gage, letting go, "But, what happened to you."

"He's reached his final fairy form," said Palladium, approaching the group.

"Of course," said Lee, "Kendal's sacrifice to save Gage had earned him his Enchantix powers."

"Exactly," said Palladium.

"Wow, cool," said Gage. It was then that a Red Fountain aircraft arrived along and emerging from it was some Specialists, including Princess Mary and Zach Wilbur, who were surprised to see Kendal in his Enchantix form.

"Come on," said Palladium, "We'd better leave and let the Specialists handle this."

"Got it," the Witch Club said in unison they entered the aircraft, except for the Rangers, who walked back towards the campus grounds. As soon as the cost was clear, the Heart of Magix transformed them back into their Charmix forms.

"That was awesome," said Taylor.

"Yeah," said Matt, "I can't wait to do that again sometime."

"And hopefully in that time, we'll be able to get more control of our ranger powers and our Charmix powers," said Lee as the five walked back to campus.

"By the way, Lee," said Joshua, "Do we have to earn our Enchantix powers."

"We might have to wait until our 3rd year at Alfea to do that," said Lee.

"Gotcha," said Joshua as they made it back to campus.

Meanwhile, Alchemy was fuming with anger at their failure. She was so enraged that she threw an energy beam at the wall.

"Ah," she cried, grasping her head, "I've got such a headache! Someone bring me an aspirin!" (1)

Meanwhile, back at Alfea, Jay, Clay, Josh Cassidy, and Brian congratulated Kendal on his big accomplishment, earning his Enchantix powers.

"You were great out there, Kendal," Josh Cassidy, proud of his roommate.

"Thanks," said Kendal, "I'll just be glad the day the ceremony gets here and I get to become a Guardian Fairy. With you guys there of course."

"Yeah, it's gonna be a blast," said Clay.

"So, what do you think we're gonna do about Alchemy," asked Brian.

"We don't know yet, but what I do know is that we've gotta stop her from getting the Heart of Magix, because it's pretty obvious that they're gonna get it at any cost," said Jay.
