I wake up and stretch my limbs and let out a huge yawn. Blinking my eyes a few times to adjust to the sunlight seeping through the tent. A smile spreads across my face. 'Toxa, you stayed out of your medal for the entire night, just to make Dina feel safe.' I think as I prod Dina awake with a paw. "Come on, it is time to wake up." I softly bark.

"Okay, Brightclaw." Dina says, getting up.

I pack my things for the day. "Okay, now we will head to Jungle Labyrinth." I say as I pull a map up. "I will be in charge of the map." I bark to her.

"Why can't I?" Dina asks.

"I have been using maps since I was five years old. I have much more experience with them. Especially since the dig site is like a maze. Those are my specialities." I bark, remembering the times I would explore areas that change every time you enter them.

"Really, what did you do when you were five?" Dina asks.

"That is a story for a later time. When I tell you that part about my adventure, you should know about my last adventure. It was with my partner. In fact, that is what this adventure is about. Finding him and a dear friend." I explain.

"Are we holding you back?" Dina asks me, tears forming in her eyes.

"Dina, you and your family have not been holding us back. You all are a great help in finding my friends. I shouldn't tell you this, but I want to." I sigh.

"What is it?" She asks.

"The entire island of Vivosaur's Fighters are also looking for them. Vivosaur looks at my partner as a hero, and his teammates. Who knows, you could become just like him, as well as Dino and Todd." I bark.

"Really?!" Dina says, her eyes glinting with excitement.

"Yes, my vivosaurs also agree with me. You will become a great Fighter. Now, let's head out to Jungle Labyrinth." I bark.

"Dina!" Dino's voice calls out. I turn around and see him and Todd running towards us.

"You never told your brother, did you?" I ask.

"Maybe not." Dina says.

I then put a paw on my face. "You should have more trust in your family." I sigh.

"I do, but he wouldn't have let me go." Dina says frowning.

"You're probably right about that, your body isn't meant for sleeping outside." I say.

"What do you mean, Brightclaw?" Dina asks, tilting her in confusion, as her family members catch up with us.

I take a deep breath and exhale. "There are reasons for me not telling you all of my past. It is to keep you safe, but I can tell you all how I got my name." I sigh.

"You told us before that you were named after a hero from Vivosaur Island." Todd says.

"That is not entirely true. The hero was named after me, in honor of my claws." I lie again.

"Then how did you get your name, and what are you exactly?" Dino asks, his eyes narrowing.

"I…I can't tell you what I am exactly!" I bark, my eyes shut tight as I clench my teeth. "Not now anyways." I say, my eyes opening as I look up at the sky.

"Then why should we ever trust you?!" Dino growls.

"It is my duty to protect those in danger. It is not my choice, it is an instinct that all angel-hounds have. Also, for some reason, mine is the strongest instinct." I let out a deep breath that I was holding in.

"What does that mean?" Dina asks.

"It means that my canine instincts will take over my human instincts in order to protect my friends. It has almost killed me many times, but it has also successfully protected my friends." I explain.

"When was the last time, your canine instincts took over?" Todd asks.

"It happened about three years ago, in a battle for our home. My partner was about to be hit with a devastating attack, but I had used my body as a shield to protect him. I was still standing after the attack somehow, possibly because of my partner's determination." I bark, before shaking my head. "Enough of that, you're getting me off topic!" I growl. "I got my name from living with a bunch of wildcats. They trained me in the ways of battle, and giving me my name." I explain as we enter the dig site entrance. "What in the name of Starclan…" I bark seeing an old man dressed in an archeologist outfit, lying on the ground with a famished look on his face.

"Oh, it seems like the scavengers are already here to feast." He cries out.

'That was a bit rude.' Storm growls.

'It isn't his fault that I look this way, Storm.' I remind him.

'Right, I apologize for that remark.' Storm growls.

'Apology is accepted.' I mentally bark.

Dina walks over to the man. "Excuse me, are you okay, sir?" Dina asks the old man.

"Oh miss, is that your dog? I mistook it as a wolf. I apologize for my mistake." He says.

"Sir, if I may interrupt, I am no dog. I am the angel-hound known as Brightclaw." I introduce myself.

"Oh, so you are the canine that my student was telling me about." He says, realization in his voice. "Sorry to bother and your teammates, but I appear to be in a bit of a pickle." The old man says.

"What is wrong, we will be able to help you." I bark.

"But, Brightclaw!" Todd starts.

"No buts, Todd!" I snap, turning to face him. "I have been helping people in need ever since I first started my adventures, and I will not stop now. The fossils are not going anywhere." I bark.

"Okay." Todd pouts.

I look back at the man. "Why yes! Hunger gnaws at my belly, you see, and I fear the only cure is a delectable melon spud." The old man says.

'Melon…spud? I keep learning new foods wherever I go.' I think as the old man continues to explain what a melon spud is.

"You see, a single one of these sweet, subterranean spuds would have me up and about in no time. Ah, but the melon spud is a clever beastie... Where could it be hiding?" He says.

"We will be able to find it in no time." I bark, opening my mouth to taste the air. Immediately, a sweet citrus scent enters my nose. I then spot a strange vine that seems to move above the ground. "Found it!" I bark, digging my claws into the earthy surface, uncovering the fruit that was hidden. "Tsunami, use some of your water to clean the fruit off, please." I say as my Toba materializes out of his medal.

'Very well, Brightclaw.' Tsunami says, shooting water from his foot(ANlong-neck vivosaurs cause earthquake attacks, so Tsunami's power comes from his feet/paws) and washing of the dirt and grass from the melon spud. 'Would you like me to clean your claws of as well?' Tsunami asks me.

"No thank you, Tsunami. I can clean my claws myself. Besides, we need to give this melon spud to that man right away." I bark to him.

'I understand then.'Tsunami says as he picks the fruit up in his mouth and carries it over to the man.

As we walk back over to the man, my fur stands on end. 'Why does this area feel so familiar?' I ask myself as Tsunami puts the melon spud down.

"Thank you so much, Tsunami." Dina says as she gives the man the spud.

By now the man was overdramatizing over an empty stomach. 'The worse thing that could happen to him is fainting.' I think as i hear the complaints of the old man.

"Oh, my vision grows weak... I think I hear angels... Good heavens, this looks like the end for me!" He says.

Dina then cuts the melon spud open with a pocket knife that she brought with her for protection. As soon as Dina puts the melon spud in the man's mouth, he leaps into the air to our surprise. Tsunami catches the man with his mouth, and gently sets him on the ground. "Perfect catch, Tsunami." I bark.

"Oh my! That's it! The melon spud! Ho ho, well done, old bean! That melon spud has given me an injection of youthful vim and vigor!" The man looks over at Dina and I. "Oh, but you two went to great trouble to dig up that melon spud for me, yes?" He asks.

"Not at all sir. I am always digging things up with my claws. They are my best tools for everything, but I only use them when needed. Otherwise, I would be taking my claws for granted. My claws can only be healed by my partner, which is why I only use them when needed. You needed help, so I just dug up the plant, that's all." I explain.

"Well in that case," he continued, "I would humbly request the pleasure of your name." He asks politely.

"You can call me Brightclaw." I bark.

"Oh, so you were part of those forest animals?" The man asks.

'How does he know about the clans? Only the original five members and their partners know about the forest!' I think as my claws start to shine. 'No, not now!' I scream inside my head, trying to hide the light of my claws.

The man notices my claws glowing and smiles. "So you were one of them!" He laughs.

"Forest animals? What does he mean, Brightclaw?" Dino asks. I could feel him glaring at me.

"As I told you before, I lived with a group of wildcats. There were four clans within the forest. I was part of the clan that lived in the forested area. There were the clans by the river, in the marsh, and on a windy moor." I explain. "That is all that I can tell right now." I growl turning away and walking off to find fossils. Tsunami seems to disappear into thin air, but in reality his medal goes into my collar.

I dig up a couple of fossils and head to the Fossil Center. I clean about thirty fossils in about seven minutes. Reviving an air type version of a Thalasso known as Nycto. A Krypto which the new vivosaurs that I first encountered on my mission. A sauropod earth type known as Nigo. Nigo's odd mouth lined with tiny teeth make me think of a harmonica. I also two curious fossil rocks which were extremely hard to clean. The first was a water type known as Parapu. Parapu is an ammonite with an extremely hard shell. The second vivosaur is an arthropod known as Anomalo. It is light teal color. I put all of my Dino Medals into my bag as I get ready to head off again. I turn around and slam into somebody. "Sorry about that, I've got so much on my mind." I bark, not noticing who I bumped into.

"You should be, you mongrel." Barks a familiar voice.

"Of course, it just had to be you." I growl.

"Yes, it is I, Comet. The canine who shall win this silly tournament." Comet barks smugly.

"I honestly don't care about winning! I am here for a whole different reason. Also, I am surprised that you have decided to not look for your own family." I growl.

"What family? I am a single pup." Comet barks.

"Fine, but I can tell you one thing. Your sister is alive and well." I say taking my leave. I pass Rupert on the way out of the building. I don't look back, but I can feel him staring at me. I take off in a dash on all fours.

'Why does everyone look at me like I am nothing but a beast?' I ask myself as I head to the entrance of the jungle's maze.

I cover my ears at the sound of terrified screams. "MONSTER!" A man shouts as he and a friend run towards me. I jump to the side to avoid them. "THERE IT IS! RUN FOR IT!" He yells as the two make a beeline for the exit.

'People still do see me as a wild animal.' I mentally sigh, my ears and tail droop in sadness, but then they stand straight up at realization. "Oh no! Dino, Todd, and Dina could be in danger!" I bark, running through the trees and under roots to find them. Adrenaline flowing into my veins, and I bare my fangs.

I then see a monster made of rusted metal, and inside of it was an angel-hound that was painted the same color of the monster. My eyes widen when I see my three students, a girl with a mask on, and something that enrages me even more, being chased by the fake monster. "ROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAR!" I howl, tackling the monster to the side. The jungle lighting reflects off of my sharp canines, my fur bristles in anger, and my eyes are full of rage.

"Yikes!" The angel-hound from inside the monster yelps.

I slash the supporting structures off of the mechanism, revealing the angel-hound from within. "You do not mess with my friends, or you will pay!" I snarl, starring daggers into his eyes. My face mere inches from his.

"Run away!" He barks in fear, his tail in between his legs.

"That's what I thought, you coward!" I bark, before running over to a cream colored angel-hound. "Are you alright, Cherry?" I ask her.

"B…Brightclaw…is that really you?" Cherry asks looking up at me, her golden Amber eyes shining with hope. She is slightly smaller than Brightshadow.

"Yes, it is me, Cherry" I tell her. "Now I will ask again. Are you okay?" I bark.

"Yes, I am fine, but have you found any news about my brother?" Cherry asks, her tail twitching anxiously.

My ears and tail droop again. My heart feels like it has been crushed by a Seimo's foot. "N…no, there has been no clue in the past three years." I bark between clenched teeth.

"Oh, I see then. Do you know how Brightshadow has been?" Cherry asks me.

"He is well, and also watching us as we speak." I bark, picking up a stone and tossing it up into the trees.

"Whaaaaaaaaaa…OOOOMMMMFFFF!" Exclaims a voice as a crashing sound is heard from behind us.

Cherry runs over to where the sound came from. "Three, two, one, and…" I countdown with my paws.

"Brightshadow!" Cherry happily barks, dragging my brother's unconscious form over to the group.

"Brightwho?" Todd asks.

"Brightshadow!" Cherry barks, hugging said angel-hound.

"Other known as my younger brother." I bark.

"You never told us that you have a brother!" Dina exclaims, hugging me.

I stop myself from shocking Dina. "Um, Dina, you may want to stop hugging her." The masked girl says.

"Why?" Dina asks.

"If that is the Brightclaw that Cherry has told me about, then you midget electrocuted." She says.

"Dina, she is right! So please let me go!" I bark, trying to escape Dina's grasp.

Dina immediately lets me go, and then I shoot electricity from my fur. "Ugh! That is why I do not like hugs." I bark.

"Brightclaw, what in the world are you?" Dino asks, standing protectively in front of his sister.

I let out a long sigh. "I can only tell you that there is a reason for why I am different from the other angel-hounds. I will tell you when the time comes. So, Pauleen and Cherry, do not ask me anymore information on the search. It is for these three's safety." I bark, getting out Whirlwind, and taking off for my battle.

"She always keeps her emotions bottled up. I don't understand why though." Brightshadow barks, disappearing into the shadows.

"YAAAAAAGH!" The angel-hound that fled yells as he is brought back by Toxa.

"Hey there, Toxa. How've ha been?" Brightshadow asks the Velociraptor. Toxa grow in response. "I see, so that is why she's acting this way." Brightshadow barks, noticing the area around him.

Brightclaw237: That is it for this chapter! Just three more days until Frontier comes out as well. Anyways, please read and review.
